Thanks to you I'm embracing being a cricket. I've hidden nearly everything, even the Kleenex box, and I feel so much better! I used to believe some things "needed" to be out on display for practical purposes, but they don't if they're just as easy to access when they're hidden. Now I only display things I find beautiful and I love my home even more. Thank you for all your advice, Cas! And thanks for the laugh 🙈
Ditto! I am a cricket but incredibly practical so hate hunting for things. It took me four or five tries to organise my craft and DIY supplies because I simply didn't have space for them all. I was so frustrated by all the mess that was spilling everywhere, but after some serious decluttering, I can now find everything and it's out of sight at last! My Kleenex are still out on a bookshelf, but in a wooden box with a hinged lid, cos the tissue poking out the top always irritated me, but hay fever means they need to be out 🤩
Cricket here! My tissue boxes live inside drawers and the only tissue box that can't be in a drawer is a clear acrylic one because I can't stand the loud ugly "artwork" on Kleenex these days. 😆
I will ALWAYS stay to the end, because it's pure gold! Could totally relate, Cas. A number of years ago, I was working the reception table at my 40th high school reunion. In the adjacent ballroom in the same building, another school was having their 50th reunion. A woman approached the registration table and I didn't recognize her. Rather than ask her name or just ask if she was there for our reunion, I said, "I believe you must want the (other school's) 50th reunion." She looked at me strangely and asked, "Isn't this (our school) Class of 1979? I'm so-and-so." I was mortified, but truth be told, to me she looked at least 10 years older than I think I look (perhaps I'm delusional), and I quickly apologized and excused myself to go get a drink at the bar. Meanwhile, the other person working the registration table with me was cracking up and has never let me live it down. Not sure I'll go to the next reunion, but one thing's for certain: I will NOT be working the registration table! :)
When I was a Girl Scout and selling cookies door-to-door for the first time, I asked the lady who answered the door if her Mom was home. She said, “I AM the Mom of this home.” I was embarrassed and blushed furiously, but I think she was flattered coz she bought a lot of cookies from me!
Don’t be ashamed, simply don’t. You know, when I came into my fifties I realized I wasn’t that easily embarrassed any more and could laugh those mortifying situations off. When I was a young girl a much older friend assured me that there would be a time in life when you joyfully roll in the mess rather than trying to get out of it; didn’t believe him, but the man was right. Great video as always! ❤❤❤
I used to be an art model, and I always spent a couple of hours doing my hair and makeup for every session. One day, I was running extremely late, so I dashed out with no makeup and my hair in a bun. A student asked me during the break if I was that other model's mother...that other model being ME. 😂
My now 13 year old.. When she was in second grade I had a kid ask her which one of your moms is picking you up today... 😂 also know as before school kids fighting over shoes and socks hot mess crazy hair no make up un caffienated mom... and the 330 mt kids have all been at school for 6+ hours I showered and put clothes on and put myself together mom! This kid thought wrong were 2 different MOMS... lol
When I was a baby, my mom and dad lived in Illinois. My dad loves sports and used to play basketball with the neighborhood kids. Some boys came to the door one day and asked my mom if her boy could come out and play... 😂
I can definitely relate to your story about being socially awkward! Once, I was on a cruise and met this guy and a woman who seemed a bit older than him. They were walking hand in hand, so I assumed they were a couple. I offered to take their pictures in exchange for them taking mine since I was traveling with my kids. While we were taking photos, I kept suggesting poses like hugging and kissing, thinking they were a romantic couple. After the photo session, the guy casually mentioned, ‘By the way, this is my mother.’ I was mortified! Thank you for sharing your story and making me feel less alone in my awkward moments!
I’m a Butterfly 🦋 but whenever you call out typical habits of a Butterfly, I’m left looking around like “ Whaaaat?! How does she know me so well?? How does she know all my dirty secrets I haven’t even admitted to anyone!” THANK YOU THANK YOU! I’m taking all these tips and processes and making one change at a time and they work!
You have changed my life. I can't believe the clutter had me so depressed. I didn't even realize it until I got rid of my clutter that I thought was my treasures. Watching you gave me back so much!! It's so crazy I've always loved staying at hotels....didnt even realize it is mostly because there no clutter anywhere. Space for everything. Thank you so much!!
Would love a video on organizing for newborn, or how to prep/organize the best for baby. Especially when you have a toddler running around. I feel like there’s a lot I should do to the house to prepare while I am pregnant to keep things simpler and organized. Always love your videos!
As a mom of four I would recommend to only keep the newborn size in the dresser. Put the other clothes in separate bins on a top shelf in the closet organized by size. Hang dressy clothes, fold casual. Put lotions, wash cloths... next to diapers in the top drawer or changing table. Bedding, blankets on the bottom of the dresser. Toys in a canvas basket on the floor. Not sure about bottles since I never used those. Diaper bag - changing pad, diapers, wipes and a change of clothes for each kid. Restock after the trip that way you are ready to go next time and are not running late.
Everybody makes mistakes. Make her some brownies and apologize and just explain again how you were so nervous. It will be fine. Don't live with shame. Life is way too short for that! You are amazeballs and don't you forget it!!!
For family things, I’m a bee. For personal things, I’m a ladybug. I guess it’s weird to be opposites? But it makes so much sense to me for my things to be hidden (because I’m a mom of little kids) and quick to put away. But for things like dishes or bathroom stuff or clothes or the pantry that everyone is using, it needs to be very visual, and everything needs a very specific place to go so everyone using it knows where to find it, and I always have a specific place to put it away (and I know what’s missing if a spot is empty) For kids things, less inventory matters the most for us. I labeled bins and put them on a shelf up high, so they have plenty of floor space to play, and they have to ask for specific bins and put the things back in them before I’ll give them another one. Saves me sooo much grief, because I’m not ever asking them to manage all that inventory all at once.
Realised the other day that my glass container drawer is always full so I don’t use all of them at once so I don’t need all of them in there. I thought I go through there regularly but still found lids without containers. Ugh. So I’ve just got 2 of each and 3 of the big ones in there now. Feels like scarcity mindset at the moment but I’ll get there. The fact that the drawer below is full of plastic containers isn’t giving me comfort. It’s a long haul changing the mindset when you’re single and how much you need. ❤
OMG! I hate when I put my foot in my mouth, too. Try to make friends with that young neighbor. Bake her something yummy and tell her you feel very bad and embarrassed. Be humble. You might become good friends. Don't stop trying.
I’m a ladybug and my husband is a butterfly. My husband would never put his shoes inside anything so we have a spot to kick them. It’s a compromise and it’s also funny my bee son always straightens up the shoes!
I don’t know if this is helpful-maybe this is what you already do 😜-but at our house, we use boot trays placed where people naturally want to kick off their shoes, so it contains them and looks a bit more intentional. I think my whole family may be butterflies 😆
I started doing that in 2017, with incredulity, when I rage-decluttered my home over the course of 6 weeks. I had always kept everything on the bathroom counter (which is tiny) and hated that it not only was very cluttered, but it made the counter dirty way faster. And guess what, it stuck immediately, and never felt like a chore in the least. That's the power of finding a solution *that works for you* , other people's style (or social media influencers) be damned! 😍
I love that my beau now goes 'I'm a butterfly, I need a desigated area that I can see!' As his bumblebug, I appreciate that he's willing to work with me. We're still a hot mess, but we are getting better at it 😅 Also, for my fellow bumblebugs, for the love of everything holy, get yourself a bin or caddy for your cleaning supplies, then stick it in a closet - you might just love it too 😊
I just took the quiz and I’m a cricket! I’m sitting here looking around my house and seeing that everything I use is put away, but I know exactly where it is!
Your story at the end. Hilarious 🤣 I do stuff like this all the time. Say completely inappropriate things and then die inside when i ask mystic what possessed me to say that?! Buy her a sorry gift, make it tongue in cheek. Be honest and say you were nervous and so keen on making a good impression that it backfired.
Love this! Been working on organizing my house plus getting rid of crap! Went through my cleaners and threw out old,or almost empty containers ❤ Put my shoes in a basket next to the door
My opinion: I think that you are excellent friend material ❤. I would just explain that your brain gets wonky at times and says the wrong words and that when you heard yourself say mother instead of sister you were mortified and embarrassed because it wasn’t the word you actually meant and you saw her getting upset. If she is good neighbour material she will learn to laugh it off and laugh with you. My brain does things like that in awkward situations too. Years ago, while running a visiting 8th grade wilderness class trip we played the game two truths and a lie to get everyone a bit more comfortable with each other. I was one of the first to go and one of the 3 statements I made was “I was a surrogate mother to 3 baby howler monkeys” … a moment of silence passed as I realized that I hadn’t said “adoptive mother” and said “oh that’s not what I meant!” And everyone started laughing 🤣 one girl said “ I thought that you were just a really bad liar”. Needless to say it broke the ice and everyone was so much more comfortable because no 8th grader had to worry about saying something stupid 😊 Embrace your awkwardness it is part of our human charm 😊
Lol words come out of my face and I'm hearing them for the first time too... it's a hard thing to live with. Super helpful video, thanks for the tips - I totally need a command center that isn't my work-from-home desk, and I never realized it!
Thank you so much Cas for being so helpful... Thanks to your videos, I discovered I was a cricket. I thought I was a weirdo trying to hide stuff but keep eveything organised and under control at the same time. I feel calmer and everyting makes more sense to me now.. ❤❤
I am ABSOLUTELY in love with your videos!!! Spent the day binge-watching them (or should I say in my newly acquired ADHD vocabulary, got into hyperfocus watching them), and of course, Amazon, Aliexpress love your videos too 😬 Thank you so much for the precious content.
I am still salivating over your garage project!! I would have just moved in it!! It turned out so pretty!! Yes, garages can be pretty!! I painted mine pink lmao!!! I wanted a peaceful place to enter into when coming home!!
I feel you Cas! Even in my twenties I swear I had early onset Alzheimer's... I do not think well on my feet, and have terrible recall. A good friend of mine's mother passed away one year in February or March. When mother's Day rolled around soon after, I asked how he was going to spend Mother's Day, "Are you going to see your Mom?" 🤦🤦🤦🤦 I ACTUALLY WENT TO THE WAKE!! Unfortunately, my brain is out of sight out of mind.
🐞🐞🐞❤ you have really helped me discover that in my 57 years I’ve been doing it wrong. I’ve always been the type of person that can sit and organize the tiniest things in the most new categories for hours and be so happy. But was always overwhelmed in trying to keep things organized that way… Because deep down I’m a ladybug.‼️🐞🐞🐞 I had a file cabinet and would create detailed categories for everything! But then in maintaining it, I would stack everything in piles until I could put everything away properly… Which never happened and then I could never find anything😮 so to use the terminology of today… I was always trying to organize for my fantasy self🐞🐞🐞
I live in a tiny apartment. My door opens directly into my living room. My bathroom sink is just a sink. Barely enough room for a soap dispenser to sit on it. I have very little storage. Finding solutions is difficult. As for my storage category, that depends on the day, on my pain levels and on my headspace. Good times.
Maybe the answer then, is to be as simple as is reasonable, in how you organize, keeping in mind what works for *you* and how much stuff you own? If you line-up with what is usually possible on your difficult days, then you can maintain that level on days that are easier.
Another tip for butterflies -- similar to the get ready bin Cas mentioned, I realized a hold up to our master bathroom sink (or rather the counter) getting cleaned more often is because it's small but full of stuff. All stuff we use day and night (very small counter!) so I found a small bin that fits our space and was able to get most of that stuff into it. Less clutter and faster to clean! But everything is still right where we want it too 😜
Wow! I'm so glad I found you! I just moved in with my partner (documented on my yt too) and have been in the thick of unpacking and making his home Our home. He's very much a minimalist but I am maximalist due to my incessant adoption of new hobbies. I want our two styles to live in harmony and this is why your organization tips are going to save our relationship. For real, you are going to singlehandedly prevent a break up 😂. I'll send him here to thank you as well if we make it through the year.
4:29 The observation that if something's not easy to put away, it will just be put down, is so true. To take it a step further, if something doesn't have a place TO be put away, it will just be put down. If you find yourself constantly putting a certain kind of thing down, rather than away, stop and ask yourself, "Where does this even go?" If you don't have a ready answer, that might be part of the problem. One question I have: what do you do when people in the house have different organizing styles, i.e. one is visual, while one is hidden? Is there a good way to merge the two, or does it just become a question of negotiation as to whose style gets to dominate a given space?
I'm a bee and my husband is a ladybug. She has specific tips for other combinations but I just remember mine... She said go visual but macro... Like a compromise, so butterfly. Because visual is more important to a bee but macro is more important to a ladybug.
I like you being honest about saying things without thinking about it. Unfortunately many times first impressions stick even if your didnt mean to offend the neighbor ❤
Haha, great story at the end! "you must be..." is always a recipe for disaster! Thank you for all the great tips, so good, to focus on the key areas and organize according to our style there first.
I love the stories you share at the end! Your story reminded me of several incidents that I have. Several people have asked me if my kids were my grandkids. I can laugh about it now but I didn't then.
I love watching these videos and listening to Cas. This brings me great comfort and has a calming effect. I know how to be organized but I need to set up a schedule to actually take care of things, like filing paper work
Still deciding on how to organise my small entry and kitchen paperwork. I’m a bee but I want areas to look less cluttered. I like having a small pretty basket in my lounge that I pop the iPad, phone, waterbottle, etc. to take out to the craft room or upstairs.
Have to thank you for some great ideas. So far I now have a clutter catcher and multipurpose cleaner 😊 I also understand mine and my husband's styles better.
I am just like you Cas, I do not think before I speak! You were just being so friendly to the lady, I hope she had a laugh about it later, and that there is no bad feeling from her. I think you are going to have to speak to her about it, to clear the air, and bake her a cake or something, as someone else suggested on here! Very embarrassing. I love all your things you put up on walls to hold things, the only problem I have is that I have very little wall space. I am a butterfly, so I have lots of bits and bobs everywhere, which I love, but too much stuff I know. But I keep on watching you, as you do inspire me to sort things out, thank you. xxx
Hah! All those thimgs you mentioned at 8:20 are things I have stuck on my fridge! And it's a mess! I need that command centre! Oh I'm a butterfly/bee combo and so worried I'll forget stuff if I can't see it.
Scan the artwork and bind each year in a photo book. Amazon Alexa and google calendar are great for a home binder. I never updated by written things, but getting appointment reminders etc in email, straight on google calendar. Easy.
Could you make a video about people who have different organizing styles for different spaces/items? Maybe discussing certain spaces that might be better suited for a specific style when it comes to people who have varying styles?
I am sooo happy for finding your channel! I resonate with you so much that i feel seen and understood and all your tips are thus sooo helpfuk. Thanks! ❤
I think I have been watching your videos a lot, I haven't figured out the name for each style, I just don't remember, but I always recommend your channel to people that asks about organization and why its not working for them. A few days ago I watched this tv show about some people renovating a house, and when they got back a few months later as the house was finished I couldn't help but think what critter they were when seeing their over cluttered refrigerator when everything else was so organized and no clutter what so ever it was so visible and I thinked to myself that their hidden organization would eventually fail as it was so obvious that they would need open baskets and such as you tell about. Your system is actually idiot proof, no doubt about it, and that's why I keep recommending people to take your little test so they to can get the craft space they want as this is usually the people asking for help. People will recommend this bin and that shelving system, but what works for them might not work for other people, and the most creative ones tend to be those who don't care to open the drawer or put the lid back on those pretty jars. I'm that type that do this and I like it, but I figured out that my mom needs open baskets or bins, but she can have them in a closet, she doesn't like things laying around except for her piles that always lies around. I made her buy a basket for the pile in the living room, it consists of magazines, drawings, small notes, color charts, recipts from buying clothes online and much more and it just always was laying around looking messy, but now she got the basket under a table, and the basket is in a color that she loves, and she just have to look through it once in a while when the basket gets full. She has also bought some small bins that she keep her pen and small items that she always use in the living room and the bin sits on the shelf underneath the coffe table, so it doesn't look cluttered and she doesn't have to run around looking for things, it's right there, hidden, but in an open bin so she can just grab it and use the things and put it back when the doorbell rings. She actually has bought bins for her closet wardrobe in the entryway too as she have seen how I kept buying those bins and she also wanted to have them but didn't know what to use them for and I told her to buy bins that would fit the space rather than the things, as you can move the things to the bins that fits, and now my niece actually sometimes put away the hairbrush she has in the closet wardrobe (her grandmother), and she was so inspired buy me labeling everything that when she had a big decluttering in her room (my niece) she made labels for the shelves in her book case, she doesn't own a label maker so she made labels with freezer tape and just wrote on it, and she was so happy with how it looked, and I think it's so good that she's getting organized at an early age as she's been quite messy until she labeled her shelves. I had watched a show on Netflix with the home edit at my moms home and my niece actually didn't grab the remote, I think it worked, she is officially brainwashed 😅 and my mom is getting closer each day. I'm dying to declutter her kitchen cabinet that she use as a pantry and to store tall things, it doesn't work at all, and the tall things is the tea pot coffee canne thingy, whatever it's called in english (we call it "tv-kanne") and some other tall things she use once a year and could keep in her basement. She has a basement that needs a decluttering, but it's enough room for those talls things without decluttering also. I can't stand to see the things fall out every time she opens the cabinet, and if she needs like the cereal, she would need to move fifteen items to reach to it, it's hopeless. It's not a big cabinet, but she didn't want a tall cabinet like she had for 30 years as it was deep and dark and bins wasn't invented in Norway yet in the 70's, so when she got to design a new kitchen in 2007 she wanted drawers and small cabinets. I don't like it at all, I would have designed it with a tall cabinet that you can pull out a thing with baskets in it and I would fill it with food in boxes and jars with lids on them 😅. She did try to put her soups and sauces and such in a container in a drawer, but she buys to much and it's always overfilled so you can't actually find anything, it's so messy and hard for my OCD to look at. I haven't been diagnosed with OCD, but I have always been obsessed with system and I couldn't use my coloured pencils if the pencils wasn't facing the same way with the print facing upwards and it had to be in the excact order that it was in when I bought the colours and if people messed it up I would get mad and when playing with my Barbie dolls they had a lot of clothes and shoes and stuff, and I had these tin boxes that had candy in them and I used those boxes to store the shoes, hair brushes, and other stuff, and all their clothes had to be in a seperate bag, and I didn't mix hairbrushes with shoes, they each had their own box, so I guess I always used this system without realizing it. When I was a teenager I had this drawer with make up and hair stuff and I got old Tupperware food containers to store things, one for lipsticks, onne for hair ties, one for eye shadowa and so on. Who does that when they're a teenager if they're not obsessed. I tried to organize my other stuff to, but I have always had a lot of small items, and they were just floating around in the drawer and it was frustrating but I couldn't figure out why it was a mess. Now I have got rid of all the small items that I don't use and I have bins for my office supplies and my craft supplies in each of my drawers and my scrapbook paper has vertical storage paper holders, and it look so good and is really easy to maintain, it does get messy, but everything has a place and it takes 15 minutes to clean up from chaos to Instagram look. I don't care about Instagram I just know it's what people understand now. 😂 I need to organize more, as my apartment is to messy, but I don't have any storage space as I don't have any closets at all except for one in my craftroom and that is of course filled with boxes with craft supplies. It's a hanging closet and that's why I just had to put those big bins in with some of my craft supplies like christmas supplies and extras of stuff I use. I have to much though, so I have to declutter my craft supplies, it's the only thing left to declutter, I have decluttered before, but you can't actually tell, it's so much and it was a nightmare when I had to move and had so much craft supplies. I have been reducing since, but it's still to much for moving, but at least now every drawer has bins in them so I wouldn't have to sort through every item I own as the people helping me just took a drawer and just pored into a box, I had actually just organized that drawer but I had no money to buy anything, so I just had to use what I had and it was the empty cotton pin boxe and baskets that almost fit the drawer. Now I can just take a picture of each drawer and just paxck the smal bin into a moving box and put it back as I have now labeled every drawer and like the system. The only thing that is hard to move is my scrapbook paper as you can't actually stack it and it's so heavy that you can't put a box full of the paper holders. I try to use up some of it, but it takes time to use up as I use maybe three sheets for two cards if I don't save the scraps. I think I might have 10 000 sheets of paper, I have not counted, but each series is around 10 or 15 different and I used to buy four of each and I got sick so I couldn't scrap for years, but now that I'm better I try to use up things before buying anything and I just buy things like glue, I do buy some paper, but I buy just one of the packs and that's it, not four, that's crazy. 😂
Omg Cas, haha. I love your story. I want to be your friend, that friend you can call whenever stuff like that happen. It's something I'd do too. You're hilarious and amazing!
I just moved and I set myself up for success. I did a huge purge so I have way less to manage (less decor is less of a chore). I put a laundry hamper in the bathroom (didn't fit in the last place) and one in the closet. My clothes including PJs are in my closet so I can walk in, strip straight into the hamper or hangers when I switch into my play clothes. Game changer!
I just realized I started taking a new med for ADHD specifically two months ago...that might also have something to do with being able to keep my space tidy and clean for the last month. 😂😂😂🎉
Thank you for all that you do, @Cas! Can you please show us how you organize your command center folder? Do you just punch holes, use clear cover inserts, pockets to hold stuff etc…?
I love you Cas! (Mom 😂) I’m so impressed that you have been able to continue such great content with your insane schedule. I appreciate you and all your great information!
I would love to see more details about how you do your household management binder and what all you put into it! Could you do a video or short on it, please?
I sometimes get my hair done at a place near my home by a super nice woman named Christine. The first few times I saw her, she had her hair & makeup done & I made the first appointment in person. After a few months, I went back to make the appointment in person bc I was in the area anyway. I went to the desk & asked the receptionist, whose makeup wasn't done, for an appointment with Christine. She said, "Oh, I'm free on Thursday." I was so embarrassed & felt like a jack hole. Sadly, this has happened multiple times (never deliberately though; for some reason, I just don't remember her face).
This video really helped me understand being a ladybug. I had all these elaborate systems set up to really micro organise, but that made things worse. Now I get why. I want to be a cricut, but I am embracing that I am a lady bug and finally get why my systems didn't work.
I know this post is 3mos old but I just recently started watching. I wanted to thank you for so many great tops and ideas. Specifically I wanted a hot lava bathroom for my get ready counter that was full of STUFF. I started putting things where they belong and it dawned on me to use the almost empty kleenex box for a caddy until I purchase a basket. I cut the top open and slit the edges...and as you say da da death or however you'd spell it lol!!! It was a colorful kleenex box so it doesn't look bad at all.
I’m a cricket too 🎉
Cricket here! My tissue boxes live inside drawers and the only tissue box that can't be in a drawer is a clear acrylic one because I can't stand the loud ugly "artwork" on Kleenex these days. 😆
Just curious, what do you do if you have a visitor in your house & they need a tissue?
I'm a Cricket also, married to a Butterfly. Times can be challenging.
I will ALWAYS stay to the end, because it's pure gold! Could totally relate, Cas. A number of years ago, I was working the reception table at my 40th high school reunion. I was mortified, but truth be told, to me she looked at least 10 years older than I think I look (perhaps I'm delusional), and I quickly apologized and excused myself to go get a drink at the bar. Meanwhile, the other person working the registration table with me was cracking up and has never let me live it down. Not sure I'll go to the next reunion, but one thing's for certain: I will NOT be working the registration table! :)

lol. You are the first person I have ever heard say “thanks for coming to my TED Talk” who actually has done a TED Talk.
That’s too funny 😂❤
But then who goes on a cruise with their mom?maybe a daughter but a son, that's very rare.
@@allalala9916but maybe mom went with her son in this case? 😅
@@katsophoto weird either way
I’m a Butterfly 🦋 but whenever you call out typical habits of a Butterfly, I’m left looking around like “ Whaaaat?!
And staying in hotels also shows you, you don't need as much random stuff as you think you do. :)
I’m still mortified by things I’ve said years and ago, I can so relate 😂😂
A memory bin to hold incoming things before sorting them out once a year is something I wish I'd heard before having kids. Such a good idea!
But for things like dishes or bathroom stuff or clothes or the pantry that everyone is using, it needs to be very visual, and everything needs a very specific place to go so everyone using it knows where to find it, and I always have a specific place to put it away (and I know what’s missing if a spot is empty)
For kids things, less inventory matters the most for us. I labeled bins and put them on a shelf up high, so they have plenty of floor space to play, and they have to ask for specific bins and put the things back in them before I’ll give them another one. Saves me sooo much grief, because I’m not ever asking them to manage all that inventory all at once.
I can completely understand that!!
That also happens to me, words that come out my mouth to my own surprise. I feel so relieved that I am not the only one!
Hey I am a ladybug too, my home is so much more organised because of you. Thanks for that, love watching your videos.
OMG! I hate when I put my foot in my mouth, too. Try to make friends with that young neighbor. Bake her something yummy and tell her you feel very bad and embarrassed. Be humble. You might become good friends. Don't stop trying.
That's great advice!! It's impossible to stay upset at someone when they've baked you something yummy 🍪
Agree with this. You can call me old anytime if I get cake 😂
I’m a ladybug and my husband is a butterfly. My husband would never put his shoes inside anything so we have a spot to kick them. It’s a compromise and it’s also funny my bee son always straightens up the shoes!
I was just about to say this, what is with the man shoes?!? 😅 I think an organized pile will be the best we can do, too.
I don’t know if this is helpful-maybe this is what you already do 😜-but at our house, we use boot trays placed where people naturally want to kick off their shoes, so it contains them and looks a bit more intentional. I think my whole family may be butterflies 😆
The “get ready” basket in the bathroom has been my very favorite tip I learned from you. ❤
I love that my beau now goes 'I'm a butterfly, I need a desigated area that I can see!'
As his bumblebug, I appreciate that he's willing to work with me. We're still a hot mess, but we are getting better at it 😅
Also, for my fellow bumblebugs, for the love of everything holy, get yourself a bin or caddy for your cleaning supplies, then stick it in a closet - you might just love it too 😊
I have to admit, I clicked here for the story at the end. You didn’t disappoint!
I just took the quiz and I’m a cricket! I’m sitting here looking around my house and seeing that everything I use is put away, but I know exactly where it is!
Cas, find the friends that understand words falling out of your face. They are out there. 🤣😘
Your story at the end. Hilarious 🤣
I do stuff like this all the time. Say completely inappropriate things and then die inside when i ask mystic what possessed me to say that?!
Buy her a sorry gift, make it tongue in cheek. Be honest and say you were nervous and so keen on making a good impression that it backfired.
Is paranoid squirrel an organizational style? Pretty sure that's the one my mom uses 😄
That may be my style as well😊
Needless to say it broke the ice and everyone was so much more comfortable because no 8th grader had to worry about saying something stupid 😊
Embrace your awkwardness it is part of our human charm 😊
People have more than one entrance into their houses? Sounds lovely.
Thanks so much Cass. I’m a ladybird slash cricket but my heart sang when I put up a hook for my winter coat a week ago.
I'm so glad I learned that I'm a Ladybug like you.
Omg! That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!! That is why I always stay til the end! Love your videos!
Your story at the end is a what I like to call the "Foot in mouth" disease.
I sympathize. Use your walls as much as you can. Then use the space under your bed. You can buy risers to lift it higher if need be.
Get an over the door shoe organizer for your bathroom
I recently decluttered and organized my craft room. Thank you for giving me tools to declutter and get it done!
Your stories at the end are my favorite part.
I look so forward to your videos because you make me crack up. Thanks for making me literally laugh out loud. 😂
I like you being honest about saying things without thinking about it. Unfortunately many times first impressions stick even if your didnt mean to offend the neighbor
❤
My favorite was the get ready box. That's a great idea.
This video made me very emotional. Like, you understand me and are actually trying to help me
I bought the wall filing rack as you suggested in a previous video works perfect for my husband and myself. Thank you..
When i saw your get ready box a few videos ago, I was like 💡 Made a huge difference for me. The clean sink area made my brain so happy.
I know how to be organized but I need to set up a schedule to actually take care of things, like filing paper work
lol 😂🤣 You’re so funny. LOVE your videos. ❤
Brilliant. 😂😂😂😂😂 I’m in kinks on the floor 😂😂
You are funny . I love that story at the end.
🤣🤣You crack me up! I've had a few bouts of "diarrhea of the mouth" myself🤭🤷🏾♀️❤🙏🏾
Ladybugs unite!! 🐞
You are so spot on. It really helps a lot knowing one's organising style. I need it visible and detailed. Thank you. ❤
Who *doesn’t* stay ‘til the end?! 🤣
Some ppl with ADHD… no matter the length of a post! But… we usually come back to it anyway ;}
@@tainoaquarianyup this is me
People who are ok with missing out on big laughs!
I absolutely LOVE her “Stayed till the end” stories! They are hysterical!! 🤣
I think staying until the end of these videos is my favorite part of the video.
But I keep on watching you, as you do inspire me to sort things out, thank you. xxx
Your basket for "filing" has been a game changer for me! I really dislike filing but can find things with this method. Thank you, Hugs.
This is so great Cas!! We’re in the process of moving to a new home and learning from past clutter mistakes, these are great tips!!
Hah! All those thimgs you mentioned at 8:20 are things I have stuck on my fridge! And it's a mess! I need that command centre! Oh I'm a butterfly/bee combo and so worried I'll forget stuff if I can't see it.
You are so delightful, so humorous and you light up my day thank you!!!!
I’m a cricket too!! I never thought of the Kleenex box!!! Ty!
Scan the artwork and bind each year in a photo book. Amazon Alexa and google calendar are great for a home binder. I never updated by written things, but getting appointment reminders etc in email, straight on google calendar. Easy.
Oh my goodness... I love you. Thank you!
I am a cricket, but I have and use that tall basket to hold things until I can go through it to file, pay, etc. Love your help.❤
Could you make a video about people who have different organizing styles for different spaces/items? Maybe discussing certain spaces that might be better suited for a specific style when it comes to people who have varying styles?
Omg hilarious, we all say things before we speak but I would be your friend I think your a hoot enjoy your week
Love your stories at the end. Appreciate how human you are! Sometimes I think I’m the only one who does things like that.
Someone once asked me if I was my child’s great grandmother. I was 48 at the time and my daughter was 10.
Oh my gosh! I’m waiting for the day that someone asks me if I’m the grandma. My daughter is 1 and I’m almost 38. 😂
I have really been able to.relate to your style of explaining things and I have embraced baby steps toward making these happen! Thanks so much!!
I am sooo happy for finding your channel! I resonate with you so much that i feel seen and understood and all your tips are thus sooo helpfuk. Thanks! ❤
Excellent tips Cass. Thank you so much. xxxx
I am like that, too. Never know what I’m going to say before it plops out. Thanks for helping me declutter my home!
You are so welcome!
😂🤣 I never regret staying until the end.
Cass, I'm the same way! Sometimes I think, why did I say that?! So, you're not alone! 😂
Great video. I haven taken the test yet but, from the video, I know that I am visual. This makes so much sense to me!
Omg Cas, haha. I love your story. I want to be your friend, that friend you can call whenever stuff like that happen. It's something I'd do too. You're hilarious and amazing!
Thanks for sharing!
I Absolutely Love You And Your channel So Much ❤❤❤❤ Thank You for Years of your Authentic Awesomeness 🌹😎
(Mom 😂)
I’m so impressed that you have been able to continue such great content with your insane schedule.
She said, "Oh, I'm free on Thursday."
I was so embarrassed & felt like a jack hole. Sadly, this has happened multiple times (never deliberately though; for some reason, I just don't remember her face).
"Face blindness" is a real thing -- some people are WAY more dependent on cues like clothing, hair styles, etc. than other folks.
This video really helped me understand being a ladybug. I had all these elaborate systems set up to really micro organise, but that made things worse. Now I get why. I want to be a cricut, but I am embracing that I am a lady bug and finally get why my systems didn't work.
I would be your friend Cas!!! You're hilarious!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my goodness. That cricket bathroom organization made my heart go pitter patter. LOL I wasn’t sure and kept second guessing myself until I saw that!
Thank you very much
I know this post is 3mos old but I just recently started watching.
