I rode with a DH racer yesterday on a double black. He helped me get 3 of the 5 drops. 1 drop you can't see the landing. I'm 5'8" he said, we don't have the advantage like Ben to see the trails because he's so tall.

Love the annotations. The mind blowing thing is that Ben takes several minutes to explain something to us mortals and these top riders are just doing it all subconsciously in milliseconds.

I could watch this sort of content all day. Actually comparing lines/speeds and talking about how riders work the bike through different sections is seriously interesting. No-one else is doing it and its impossible to catch this sort of stuff on a pov run. Please keep this up!

Such a wealth of knowledge by cathro, always amazing to watch. Pedaling on greasy offcamber lines actually makes sense and is very common in cyclocross where they ride stuff like this all winter.
You make the best videos on racing strategy
Everything about these breakdown videos is so good. Cathro is funny as hell, his energy gets me amped, the technical breakdown is easy for anyone to follow, and the presentation with the overlays and annotations is just right. Love these videos so much - hope PB and Ben keeps this series going forever.

This content is soooo important! In the race coverage there will probably be three cameras in total pointing upwards so even for the covered sections we can't see the line choices. Outstanding work guys!

Awesome Ben, love your breakdowns of lines with the times. I'd swear that terrifying gap line of Dunne was so much faster, but turns out it's just a small margin. You make the races so much more interesting because I'm finally getting a bit of an understanding for it. Thnx Ben, looking forward for te next one!

Yes. Acceleration transfers weight to the rear wheel while braking transfers it to the front.
Bicycles are unique in that you can transfer more weight with body position than through acceleration or braking.

As far as that last section, I gotta say the middle line looks like the best if you can hack it. It splits the difference between inside and outside (semi-obvious statement I guess), because it has a wide easy entry, very little camber, and a nice berm to push off of just like the outside line. You just have to remain committed, and also the compression at the bottom could go very badly and cause a massive slowdown.. Handle that part smoothly and it looks really nice.
I look forward to these videos from Cathro every season and every race. This is equivalent to "Inside The NBA"....sort of lol

Any Canadians care to share how they are watching the race? I subscribe to everything and I can’t find it.
I am not a Canadian but UCI website says "Flosports" in the "Where to watch" section for Canada.
So, Outside with all of its power and reach can't spell "correspondent" properly.
You've just missed the perfect opportunity to change the name to "inside the poles" ...so disappointed
