The show is incredible! One of the best by far, bar none. If it doesn't return for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th season, they will have done a disservice to us all.

Sort of brilliant and thoroughly provocative! The funeral scene of Emmett Till at Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ was so emotional and mind bendingly real. Kudos to the producers for putting together the best show of 2020.

I didn't want it to end...so, I waited until last night to watch the last episode. And, it was 9/10 for me emotionally, just so full of pay-offs -- whether through story-lines being tied off or conflict (just to mention two: Naruto's Nine Tailed Fox being leveraged by the ex-lover and newest family member, and, the young woman and her faithful dog stepping away from innocence to be a bringer of justice -- and, that tore me). Such fidelity to Horror, Science Fiction AND U.S. History! And, having watched Democracy Now! for ten years, it never felt forced or like it was going too far -- I was right there with it. And, even though there's contention about it -- I personally believe the eyewitness accounts that the planes flying over Tulsa did drop bombs. So, glad I searched and found this making-of special! Thank you for posting this, and to everyone involved in the series!
This show is unusually different which makes it well needed. It's fresh, exciting, dramatic, and very thought-provoking. It's Stranger Things with soul. Lovecraft County goes well beyond the typical humdrum binge-worthy concept and turns it inside out. Hollywood definitely needs to stop overlooking black creators, writers, and directors, most importantly black actors period. Black people are the life force of the industry and need to be treated as such.
I was not expecting this show to be this good! The genre LCC falls under is W.T.F.! I cried too much, laughed so hard, i was amazed often and shaken up. Take a bow Misha! Thanks to everyone for the love that was clearly poured into this series

The level of research and detail is amazing. “Genre bending” seems closed minded because we’ve always been this wide in scope; just unseen. This show has so much essence. If you get it you get it. I only saw a sprinkle of black crew members. Hollywood needs to realise that it's not just the actors and sometimes the writers who should be diverse, every area of production needs more inclusion. Now you have this magnificent show for us. But it probably fed more white mouths than blacks.
I’ve worked on tons of movies, as a costume designer and I have never seen a black woman behind the scenes, except for one project that was all women and POCs. It’s really sad and big problem, behind the scenes tbh there’s barely any women, and even less POCs, it’s a huge problem. If I ever get to make my own crew? It will be very diverse, and I hope to give people their first chance and break

hakkgurl the first is the result of the second, basically people have their own crews and use the same people, over and over. So you have to work your way into someone’s crew. I recognized some people in this video behind the camera. Besides wardrobe and makeup and maybe set design, you never see women. And poc women is even less. To work on a project like LOVECRAFT country you’ve had to be really seasoned and be union. In order to be union you need 4-5 projects under you belt and support of 3 union members for most unions. This effectively blocks POCs and women from the industry. I’ve seen one female grip, out of 100s. But then makeup is almost exclusively white women as well as wardrobe
What you just said is very problematic. From one black person to another, inclusion and representation of more black people is ideal, but discounting the people on the show because they are white sounds very racist. And the way you worded it with the "mouths to feed" sounds so bitter. People forget, diversity is not just about skin color: 1. white is also a color and 2. the goal us to have all races come together for a common goal.

The critics gave this really high ratings so I watched the pilot it was great! I loved the historical references, we really need shows like this that shed a little more light on our dark american history. I'm in my 20's and I think this helps young people who have only heard about some of this stuff in history books get more perspective or learn about things we were never taught in school. It's highly entertaining and very ORIGINAL, fantastic job, I loved all the episodes with the exception of episode 4. I watched all of season 1 in less than 24 hours. Really fresh, really action packed and unique.
