- Hello guys 👋
Thanks for watching this video, I hope it helps you and in case you need to replace VW Jetta Struts.
As you can see in this video, I used threadlocker. But if you are not comfortable using threadlocker, you most replace all bolts and nuts with New Ones.
I really appreciate knowing the specific tool sizes for each component. Great video!
Glad it was helpful!👍
Thank you very much 💵!
This how to is awesome. Explaining what size tools to use and including the torque specs during reassembly helped tackling the job on my 2017 Passat go much smoother than it would have otherwise. Thanks!

Great video, but why is it named turkey Wrench? I have so much rust that the center bolt won't come off
Hi, what is the axle bolt torque specs?
If you watch the full video you can see that all the bolt torque specs are in the video…
Looks like there are two types of axle bolts (ribbed and non ribbed) as per VW workshop manual. For ribbed bolts, it is 70nm + 90° and non ribbed it is 200nm + 180°. Below is what manual states for non ribbed:
Have second mechanic apply brakes.
- Tighten twelve-point bolt to 200 Nm.
- Lower vehicle onto its wheels.
- Turn twelve-point head bolt 180° further
im just wondering ,is it MK7 jettta ???
MK6 Jetta
Is it necessary to remove all of that?
Hello 👋
Thank you for watching my videos!
The answer to your question is Yes.
Unfortunately, it is necessary to disassemble all those parts.
@@SuperBee79 i did it now and i can say didn't have to take down all of that. Thanks
@@SuperBee79 just did my struts, only took off the sway bar link and axle. Went smooth and quick.
A good set of tool is important, will be doing my 2012 Passat. I don’t mind talking all that of, it’s really not much
Axle bolt is TTY, should replace them
I mentioned it in the description section below. Thanks 👍
