    Been awhile since I haunted the Comments section but have been here for every single episode as soon as you drop them. I had to take a minute to compliment you on the drone shots in this video. Epic. Sweeping. And your usual excellent eye for perspective shots. As an amateur drone photographer and lover of vistas was jealous that I’ve not only never been to this spot (will be rectified soon) but also the shots you got of this location and surrounding area. Keep hitting that trail and know this loyal subscriber will show up every time, be inspired, and appreciative of you and the content you deliver.

      Awesome to hear that Cole, you leave the most inspiring comments. As a creator over time you recognize that sometimes subscribers come and go - which happens to everyone, even I will follow a channel closely than drift away from it sometimes - but as a creator you always wonder, did I do something different, did something change to cause someone to lose interest. So it's great to hear that you are still right there, you have no idea how much I appreciate to hear that! The Rothrock has many vistas, the topography really lends itself to this. Thanks also for the compliments on drone shots. I try to use the drone sparingly and purposefully, I know that people have very strong opinions on there use. But this location seemed kind of perfect for it!

    Great video. If you ever do the SST keep me in mind. Would love to do it in one hike. Have done most of it in sections but never completed the whole thing.

      Its a perfect place for a real casual afternoon hike and a great place to sit back relax and watch the world below. I imagine access to water is one of major challenges on the Standing Stone Trail???

    Mr. Zolna, I grew up in Bradford County. We traveled all over the state and like you love the topography, wildlife and walking among nature. The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon has always been a place that our family gravitates towards when we get out of the house. We remember the train that you could ride. I miss that. Another favorite thing we like to do is drive the Backroads across the state. This October I hope to be traveling across Rte 6 from border to border. It should be great. Love your videos and always look forward to your next one. Please be safe.

      Tim, thankyou so much for your comment, it literally made my day. The most satisfying part of creating these youtube nature and hiking videos is when I am able to connect with a like minded nature enthusiast such as yourself. PA Grand Canyon is one of my absolute favorites as well for sure. Even though we come from different parts of the state we share a common bond in our love of travelling and exploring scenic Pennsylvania. Good luck on your travels my friend, route 6 should be a great time!

      I had been wanting to do an intro like that for awhile. I was envisioning a sequence kind of like a car commercial, where the Challenger is flying through the back roads kicking up dust, with quick cuts, and fast music. It takes someone such as yourself with a sharp and creative eye to notice those things - appreciate it Tony, thanks. And congrats on going over 2K, your channel is🔥!

    Wow, that is one huge pile of rocks. I've heard the Pennsylvania section of the Appalachian Trail is the rockiest, this video shows that's not the only area in the state covered in rocks. Very nicely filmed.

      Hundreds of millions of years of erosion have weathered the appalachian's down to long parallel ridges with huge piles of rocks sliding down the hill side in many parts of PA. Thanks for the comment, Maine Nature and Photography.

FYI - I was wondering how come I hadn't seen a video from you and had to check on you; I was not notified even though you are set on, and they never suggested this video in my feed. Man am I glad I didn't miss it! All those ankle breaking rocks reminded me of my last hike. What a weird landscape, but the skies your captured were amazing! • @WALTERZOLNA
      @WALTERZOLNA  2 роки тому

    • @bellewoods7188
      @bellewoods7188 2 роки тому

      I would be okay with that, too. Lol. What's your advice on what to be mindful of when hiking with potential snakes in the area?

    • @WALTERZOLNA
      @WALTERZOLNA  2 роки тому

      @@bellewoods7188 I suppose the first thing would be to understand where you would be more likely to encounter them, and to be more vigilant in those locations. Sunny open rocky areas, brush piles, old foundations, are common locations. Keep your eyes on the ground in front of you, I always recommend a trekking pole or hiking stick to feel around in front of me if I'm unsure about a location. Snakes want to be left alone and will avoid people at all costs, so if you give them space they won't bother you. If you were to get bit,- extremely extremely rare- stay calm and seek help as soon as possible.

      Returning to Penn Roosevelt is like returning home. I am getting a bit worried however. The one other camper there was commenting to me about how all the water spigots we're shut off. I know that place is not high on the priority list for the DCNR, I just hope they don't shut it down. They have built all new woodchipped tent pads at each site which was very nice I noticed.

    • @kateclark7250
