I worked at the nursery for a summer when I was sixteen, way back in the 1970's. It was hard work!

A favourite sight to see for me, even though this furnace was restored, the original builders definitely had talent to make structures stand the test of time.

I grew up going there, we still go up quite a bit, it’s very close. Mom was camping there a little while back with my aunt.

Thanks for the history Cliff, it's always a treat to see pictures of something we see today, in operation back in the day, people too. The display in the barn was icing on the cake. Cemetery's are always fascinating, speaking for myself of course. I saw a chimney on the roof of the church, maybe to vent a franklin stove that heated the room back in 1867.

Can't wait for the next video. One of my favorite trails for the area.

Those iron furnaces are great. It’s good they fixed the bigger one up. Very lovely area. That church is so quaint. The cemetery is very old lots of headstones missing or broken. Such a shame. Loved the video and thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care

I used to play in the creek across from the stacks and I found a clay marble once.

You were close to my hometown. We often went to Greenwood Furnace for picnics when I was growing up.

Visited there a few years ago. The history of making the charcoal for the furnaces was fascinating.

Love stone structures. Glad you stood by the one- as I pictured in being shorter, but you were dwarfed by it. Nice little village.

That's how charcoal here in Greece is made. Looks like black pieces of wood. Great for BBQ

That’s a great hidden treasure! The recreated structures still exist so it’s easy to understand the process. A must see for sure!

I always enjoyed camping at Greenwood Furnace. I have been in the church for Sunday services and even a wedding! The church's original walls were horsehair plaster. The walls have recently been repaired. Thank you for showing folks this historic place.

There’s one or a few of these where by brother lives. I can’t remember, it’s been a few years since I’ve been there. Near Elkton Va. pretty neat really

I was wondering if anybody noticed the black in color on the outside of the church. Facing the church door on the left-hand side I didn’t know if that was from the bats or if it was from fire. Any thoughts? Again thank you for all you do and give to the community
