What I love about the Spiked bat is that it is probably gifted from Jonathan to Steve after the demogorgon fight.
Their relationship is extremely ambiguous in the show but the fact that he allowed Steve to keep the bat tells us a bit about the probable mutual respect they got for each other after the events of season 1.
(Bonus: During the Halloween party, when Steve bumps into Jonathan before leaving. I'd like to think that he is subtly asking for Jonathan to keep on eye on Nancy)

Is Steve used his bat like how Negan from the Walking Dead does, he would be one of most dangerous, yet cool characters in Stranger Things.
I love Steve in Stranger Things. I'm re-watching both seasons before Season 3 comes out, and it was so weird to see Jonathan holding that bat before Steve met it.

Gotta agree there. Negan's got all the factors. Height advantage, strength, greater reach. Plus Lucille has durability, greater reach. Then there's just overall experience. Sure it doesn't take a lot of skill to pick up a bat and swing, but to do it right, you gotta have an aggro personality and a love of carnage. And Negan is all that wrapped in a leather package. No disrespect to Steve but I gotta give it to Negan.

Dead Not Sleeping when Nancy and Jonathan were at his house trying to kill the demagorgan Steve came to the house and saved Nancy when he picked it up and hit the demagorgan and then it kind of became his because he was the best with it
