I remember finding betta in small pond near home with my brother in Pissanulok Thailand. My mom had her own bettas too when she was young but my grandmother didn't like them so she brought them back to the pond
We have a huge rice field in the Philippines, we put thousands of bettas in there, and now there’s atleast a million in there. We also breed them and sell some to pet stores..
This is a wonderful video I hope it'll help people realize they dont live in puddles but they get trapped in them during dry seasons and if it goes on too long they'll die. Hopefully consevation efforts can be made for their wild ancestors considering how beloved their domesticated offspring are. They deserve to be protected
Indonesia isn't mentioned because lots of ppl throwing trash into canals/drains/rivers, there also lots of illegal fishing using electricity (nyetrum/alat setrum). It's basically "nightmare" for fish to live in. 🗿🗿
