- Hallo, heute gibt es ein Highlight . Die ganzen verückten Aufnahmen aus 4 Jahren Restauration der Karosserie ( Häuschen).
Ich habe mich auf dieses Video gefreut und darauf hin gearbeitet.
In den 4 Jahren habe ich viel gelernt , was es heißt ein komplettes Auto zu schweißen.
und das ganze zu filmen.
Beides hatte ich zeitlich natürlich unterschätzt aber die Ideen haben mich immer auf Trab gehalten .
Immer nach dem Motto "Stillstand ist Rückschritt"
Ich hoffe es gefällt und natürlich freue ich mich über Kommetare ,Like´s und vielleicht ein Abo.

Hello, today there is a highlight. All the crazy shots from 4 years of restoring the body (house).
I was looking forward to this video and worked on it.
In the 4 years I learned a lot about what it means to weld a complete car.
and filming the whole thing.
Of course, I underestimated both in terms of time, but the ideas always kept me on my toes.
Always according to the motto “Standing still is going backwards”

Eines der besten Videos das ich bis jetzt gesehen habe was die Restauration und auch die Animation angeht. Wirklich sehr sehr geil!
Was für eine Wahnsinnsarbeit hier gemacht wird! Respekt! Erinnert mich sehr an meinen ersten Volkswagen 1200, Bj. 1959 - wie hier der 1956er noch mit Winkern in der B-Säule. Sehr gut gemacht! Well done!

Sehr aufwändig und mega gut gemachtes Video 👍🏻 Die Schweiß- und Blecharbeiten sind bemerkenswert durchgeführt. Lange nichts mehr auf dem Niveau gesehen.

Das muß ja ein unfassbarer Aufwand gewesen sein das Video zu drehen. Allein diese ganzen Animationen!!
Als ich anfing hatte ich nur ein Handy aber sowas muss man festhalten. Jeder der ein Auto restauriert macht Fotos oder ähnliches.Bei mir ist es dann einwenig eskaliert . Ich fing an immer mehr Gefallen daran zufinden und habe immer mehr mit der Kamera usw ausprobiert. Aufwendiger, auf Jedenfall ! Aber wenn man Spaß hat. Hoffe das bleibt so 😉

Dieses Video habe ich heute am 1. Weihnachtstag gefunden . Als ehem . Handwerksmeister im Holzbau( Rentner) war ich von dieser Arbeit einfach begeistert . Daumen hoch und Abo natürlich hier abgeliefert . Weiter so ..

Ein faszinierender Dokumentarfilm - ist einen OSCAR wert ! Danke für dieses tolle Video. Titelvorschlag: "Ein Genie und das Blech".
Vielen lieben Dank ,das mit dem Titel ist vielleicht einwenig hoch angesetzt .Ich habe nur viel Geduld und lerne gern dazu wenn mich eine Sache interessiert. So war es nicht nur mit der Punktschweißzange sondern vorallem mit der " Videografie", die im Laufe der Restauration immer mehr Begeisterung in mir weckte . Es gab oft Tage an denen ich für eine paar Sekunden Scene , STUNDEN gebraucht habe um sie vorzubereiten und aufzunehmen. Auch wenn ich dadurch am Blech nicht viel geschafft habe ,war ich trotzdem Überglücklich als ich die Scene im Kasten sah. So ging es immer weiter ,von normalen Aufnahmen zu Stopmotionscenen bis hin zu bewegten Zeitraffern immer auf der Suche nach dem Neuen Unbekanten wie ein Kind . Titel : vielleicht :

There are many “restoration” videos out there, but a lot of them are showing hack jobs. Your work here is something completely different. Very well done! And also considering your are doing this in an ordinary home garage renders a reason for extra compliments. The only part I see missing would be a TIG welder.
Thank you very much, yes, I would also like to try TIG welding but I have no experience with it. Since a professional device isn't exactly cheap, we'll think about it for a while. Let's see what time brings. Kind regards

@@oniondeluxe9942 Hello, it's a Telwin modular digital 400 2+2 millimeter 380 V with 16 A. It's also available with 230 volts but I don't know what your fuses in the garage mean. If everything is rewired and well secured it might work. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything even cheaper. The performance has to come from somewhere. Comparable would be a Tecna 7900 2, which has a similar price ratio, but I have no experience with it. Maybe you can find videos about a comparison.

I used to be hooked on the toy restoration videos (metal miniture cars, Tonka, etc.)... I've graduated... you are awesome and an inspiration. I start on (2) 1971 Type 2's this spring... currently designing/building my garage.
Thank you and that's great. I let the VW wait until I was comfortable. I started filming because I didn't want to forget. Now it's gotten more and more crazy, but it's fun to capture the work. I'm very happy if you like it, but you never stop learning

Hello, I'm always happy when people see the work, even though the actual journey was with the camera. Nevertheless, everything belongs together. The journey was long and it's far from over. I'm looking forward to further parts of the journey, even if it pushes the first trip further and further back.
I actually didn't find fiberglass, but maybe riveted sheets made of aluminum. But I don't know what other story the fenders tell. But I'll only look at them when the beetle is on the road. I don't get bored. Greetings Mark

Das ist das verdammt beste Restaurationsvideo welches ich je bei UA-cam gesehen habe, mit geilem Sound, und ich sah schon viele!!
Und das Projekt, Hut ab. Ich hab auch schon Autos restauriert (Mercedes, Renault 4, Golf 2) Aber ganz so Professionell bin ich da nicht vorgegangen.

One of my sons is restoring a 1957. He is doing much the same thing as you are doing. I know yours and his will be fantastic when finished. He is installing updated engine and transaxle to be able to keep up with Dallas Texas traffic.

Super Video! Das einzige was einem schwer auf die Nüsse geht ist diese Musik, aber die kann man ja abstellen.
Danke, ja man kann nicht jeden Geschmack mit Musik treffen und erlaubt ist leider nicht alles.
Deshalb habe ich versucht die Scenen ohne Musik (auch nicht im Hintergrund, beim schrauben) zu verwenden. Das Problem ist auch das Zeitraffer bzw Stop motion natürlich ohne Ton aufgenommen sind. (Fotos) In Zukunft werde ich versuchen eine gute Mischung oder mal komplett ohne Musik. Im Vordergrund steht aber mein Spaß an dem Hobby. (Schrauben, restaurieren, filmen,schneiden)

Great video. Your attention to detail is refreshing to see and made me smile. The stop motion was epic, and I wondered which took longer, the car or the editing.
Thank you .Filming takes the longest when, for example, I do stop motion or moving time-lapse. The movements are created on site. When editing, I "only" cut exactly to the music, which I still have to find beforehand. a lot of work but I enjoy it.

Durch die phantastische Stop-motion-Videotechnik wird der eh krasse Aufwand der Restaurierung nochmals verzehnfacht, oder irre ich?

Ja, könnte evtl sogar hinkommen. Der Weg ist das Ziel könnte man sagen auch wenn mal Zweifel an der Sinnhaftigkeit aufkommen erwische ich mich trotzdem immer wieder dabei das es mir Spaß macht die Momente einzufangen und zu verarbeiten . Die Cam kann Fotos für Stopmotion in Abständen selbst schießen aber das aus dem Weg springen kostet Zeit. 😄 Bei bewegten Zeitraffern wird es noch komplizierter . So sammelt man dann Scene für Scene bis das Video fertig ist. Das dauert natürlich und man kann nicht jede Woche ein Video raushauen. Gruß Mark

Erstmal ein schönes Weihnachten.
Wahnsinn wie detailliert das Video durch die Arbeiten führt. Wenn ich mit meinem T3 Syncro fertig bin ist schon länger die Idee nen Käfer aufzubauen. Das Video macht da einem schon ein bisschen mehr Bock drauf.
Abo ist gegeben, bin gespannt was da so noch kommt.

Danke, ja jetzt ist erstmal Entspannen angesagt. Das zusammen suchen und Schneiden hat wieder lange gedauert ähnlich ist es bei der Restauration auch ohne filmen. Du schaffst es aber es braucht Zeit. Man hat nicht immer die Zeit und die Kraft aber immer einbißchen. Man lernt viel und die Zeit bringt auch Rat.bzw Geld. Alles auf einmal geht nicht. Was ich empfehlen kann ist zumindest eine Garage die trocken und gedämmt ist das man auch bei jeder Jahreszeit was machen kann und die unbehandelten Bleche nicht so anlaufen wenn mal Monate nichts geht. Hast Du denn schon ein Käfer bzw Wagen?

You're right. you can't pay for that. especially not if you film everything alone. without a camera it would be 10x faster. But a company would have done a few things differently to be faster. for example the sill. maybe I should have replaced it completely but I didn't know the quality of the ones on offer and just started. The video shows how I learned while restoring and videography. I hope that I don't reach my limits and that I can always improve. Kind regards, Mark

Yes, that's exactly what the Beetle is. I bought it about 20 years ago and only did a little bit of work back then. I didn't have the confidence to do a full restoration back then and I didn't have a proper workshop of my own or a decent welding machine. I only drove a little back then but I noticed he needed some work. But the time wasn't right yet. We bought an old house where I had to invest my energy. I then left the Beetle with friends for many years. When the house and garage no longer required so much work, I brought it home. It took another few years until I started the restoration in 2019.

I don't know how to explain my feeling about it. It's a superb handmade work. How to evaluate such a thing? It's worth it? 4 years working on it? I suppose it's only a great personal victory. Congratulations! You're a master and got it.
yes you can't pay for it, it takes several hours. All of this takes so much more time to film. I've owned the car for almost 20 years now, of which it sat in this garage at my in-laws' house 400 kilometers from my new home for about 7 or 8 years. After I got it home I drove for a while until I wanted to know exactly what was going on with the car. When I started the restoration I thought about 2 years, but I didn't intend to show much on UA-cam at that point. Since you forget so much in life and time passes so quickly, I bought a decent camera to capture family life and my hobbies. Everything was planned differently, but at some point I liked documenting what I had accomplished as clearly as possible. Unfortunately, everyday life doesn't always leave time for a hobby. But I'd rather take small steps than none at all. I think filming distracted me from the difficult work. Suddenly the body was finished. Thanks for your comment, you seem to know what kind of work it was. I enjoyed reading many positive comments, they really help me to persevere and carry on. I owe it to you too, I think. I was born in 1956 and learnt to drive in a 1970 VW 1.500 cc. But here in Brazil my father had a lot of VW... 1962, 1964, 1965 (all 1.200 cc); then, 1967 and 1968 (1.300 cc); and finally the 1970 and 1972 1.500 cc. They really took part on my childhood and youth. We loved this car.

Where did you get all your metal and body parts?? I have a 63 ragtop I’m restoring and I already have a few options but I’d like to explore more before I make a decision on really expensive parts

Hello, I separated the body from the chassis in March 2019. There was a permanent break of about 8 months due to renovations on the family house. That's why I mentioned about 4 years for the body in the title. If you don't play with the camera like I do you faster.but you can't say that in general terms.many factors play a role. Greetings Mark
