I will always have a special place in my heart for the VW Bus because my father used to own a VW T2 Camper edition. We used to have great road trips together and even when we weren't traveling, I would often get the keys and stay inside the bus studying, drawing or playing on my own (I am autistic). I remember once or twice my father gave me math lessons inside the bus because the house had 3 cats and 3 dogs who wouldn't let us concentrate. On my 41st birthday I bought a Playmobil T1 model that I exhibit with pride on my office. These videos bring great nostalgia and I hope you can build many good memories to cherish on board of your restored bus :-)
Hi Mick and Lori. Bert here from the Netherlands. You were right to change the collor of Kona. The first blue was not popping collor. This second collor hits my laptopsreen like a fish in the ocean. Dom is mabye not always on time, but this man can spray paint. When you look at him when he maskes his work with tape, you see that he loves what he do. And that love for your work, results in beautiful paint work. Also the upgrade for the engine was a good idea. You need enough power to drive comfortable on anythe old engine must make to many power, wich it didn't had. This engine will take you to the end of the universe witenough horsepower, fuel consumption is more regulated by the intake system. It sound funny, but I am so proud of the two of you. I always tell friends about your youtube page and hope they have as much fun as I have when the watch all the episodes. I alway say, You have to see this story from day one. I realy love you guys. I sent you my love, and stay safe. Your love for each other, he love you have for the people that surrounds you, is a example for the rest of the world. Until next time champs. Dom reminds me of my father in the body shop. He always had a vision of all the parts laid out to paint and it was like a symphony. Us 3 boys were professional taper offers. Love what you do and thanks for sharing.♥️👍🏼
I'm so excited to see Kona getting ready. It will look great and for sure with a better performance with the bigger engine. The inside will be amazing with the colours you guys chosen. The result will be excellent because your attention to details as well to all your partners and the help from Robert and team. Cannot wait to see the final product.
It is incredible how I miss every one of your episode in UA-cam and I get anxious to see the next one and the final result of your dream coming true. God bless bless you both and thank you. ❤
I know you’ve been frustrated with Dom being on his own timeline, but the finish up paint work really shines. He’s done beautiful work and deserves to be recognized for it. Please tell him I said HI 👋🏻 Kona the Bus is coming along Mic! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😁♥️
The new blue looks awesome! The Robins egg blue did not look appropriate....Kudos to you and Lori for pursuing the appropriate colour! Yes, I'm from Canada!
Love the colour combo❤ and start to think about what I’m going to follow when kona is finished😳 will miss all of you! Has been fantastic to follow all of you all this time from episode nr1 until the last episode….when it’s coming!
I love the amount of attention to detail and patience you guys have, I seem to want everything done quick, need to change my ways an enjoy the process of things getting done overtime with quality work, thank you sir
This build just gets better! That colour is bang on perfect now 🥰 i was shocked when i saw you were going to fit a stock 1600, but so pleased that you saw the light. Hurry up with the next video please!!! 🙏
Ok, so I'm colorblind and when you guys were so upset about the original color not being what you had hoped I thought you were overreacting a bit. Now that I see the new color (at least what my eyes see), I wholeheartedly agree that it needed to be done! Even a colorblind man knows when the paint is wrong 🙃
Hi Mic, I love this channel and have been learning a ton watching along your restoration. I picked up my dream 67 walkthrough this week and will now begin my own restoration journey. If you are ever passing through SF and need help with anything let me know. Best of luck - your bus is getting so close to the finish line!!! Best.
Mitch. I so hope you`re going to do a Doku in maybe 4 episodes 1 and a half hour each. When this is done. I bet you big guy, it will be watched Millions of time. I know I would. More than once. Thank you and Lori so far. Love it.

Well Done on the Hatch i agree with you not wanting to do the Hump” idea that would make that area a useless one for storage or at the very least a difficult one to use
First time to your channel! Having owned both a 66 and 68 (a long long time ago), I was quite impressed with your attention to detail. If Volkswagen had ever made a “Bel Air” model, I’m sure it would have looked like yours.
@20:43 MUCH better choice of engine! That bus is going to be so beautiful I'd be scared to death to get it out in traffic! Especially here in Atlanta! I DO recommend getting a dashcam or three for Kona! 😁
Wow! you did a great to do wires and engine around bus... Paint look so awesome! I alway want VW Bus.. cant afford.. Enjoy watching your videos.. Foward to see everything done and driving soon..
Pah ! hop hop so high ! You are happy so much ! Looking forward the next episode ! Hope you can show two pictures first paint (the wrong color) and the last paint ( the right color) you wanted. Didn't think there was much difference in the blues until it was resprayed, now it pops, good choice.
I thought the same. Much deeper blue. The other blue was too light
