My mom made something similar. She would do the green beans in bacon grease and add the brown sugar to it. It was definitely a family favorite. We loved it. For Easter. We’re getting together at my brother and sister-in-law‘s and we’re all bringing something they’re making prime rib, roast and baked potatoes, and my sister is bringing salad and deserts. They asked me to bring my broccoli bake. We never get together on special holidays without them wanting my broccoli bake. So easy but definitely a family favorite. Happy Easter

I love green beans out of the garden like this with potatoes so good and I wanted to say your hair looks pretty you lightened it I believe. As I am getting older I lighten mine I used to have dark hair but turning silver so light hair it is haha God bless

We usually include a layered congealed salad as well as the usual things...sweet potatoes, two veggies, deviled eggs. We have diabetics in the family, so this recipe, as delicious as it looks, is something I'd have to offer an alternative for.

To make canned green beans taste like home canned... add a little olive oil salt and pepper..boil them till the liquid is almost gone..then put in more liquid just to cover and boil it out till its gone..green beans are my favorite
Another great way to make green beans is what I do. Open a couple cans, drain and pour a small jar of your favorite salsa over them. Pop in the microwave for a few minutes stirring halfway through. So good You can also just mix the greens beans and salsa together and eat as a salad cold. Equally good. 😊
I like green beans. I buy them fresh and boil them in olive oil and butter. Lightly cook them adding salt and pepper. Not as lavish as this with the sugar and bacon but a helluva lot healthier and I can crunch the green bean when I bite it so I know I am getting maximum nutrition from the bean. Can beans are mushy and most of the nutrition is gone as they are sitting in water in the can.

We like most of your recipes but 1 cup of brown sugar is a lot of sugar. We try to minimize sugar these days. Prefer green beans to be savory. Thanks for sharing, though.
