i came from 5k hours in rust and i like the direction they are going, and i had played deadside for about 10 hours a couple years ago. I cam back to it after its release so it is nice to see they are really trying to fix a lot of the issues and jankiness in certain aspects of the game. the team limits would be HUGE as that ruined a lot of rust servers for those that play in smaller groups. a 30 man shouldnt being a thing on a 75 max pop server, just doesnt make sense. i hope they can keep it up! the games playerbase has jumped up a lot the past few days (still not a ton of players yet) so itd be nice if this game starts getting recognizition because it is really fun and enjpyable most of the time
Hell yeah, I'm in the same kinda boat tbh. I'm excited to see the changes and the player base growing. I think once some polish gets slapped on this game, it'll help a lot too. The majority of the "fixes" come down to QOL and that's a good problem to have.
@ the game runs fairly well as I get pretty high fps which is amazing in an open world game like this. I think some terrain fixes, bunker changes (aids getting pinned in a bunker then they respawn indefinitely til you die), and just a bunch of little things would make this game stand out. If they look at rust and dayz and implement things from the shortcomings of those games I think they could have a winner since the player base has probably at LEAST dabbled in both of those games prior to playing deadside.
One thing I hate and would make my gaming so much more enjoyable is having a toggle option for lean! I would also like to be able to craft something and have it drop on the ground if my inventory is full. Personally I love deadside and have over 400 hours in it since right before they added wolves. Also would like to be able to swap items around in a full bag.
Came back with the 1.0 release! Man has the map gotten bigger. I love having motorcycles around, haven’t found anything bigger or a boat yet (hearing that’s super rare now?) but generally I’m pretty positive about it. Janky bots are nothing new, I’d agree it’s probably worse than it used to be but kind of whatever as it’ll get worked on. Hard agree on more wildlife and such being put in. I probably sit more on the side of wanting a light pvp/pve experience without the huge losses of raiding, especially offline. If I wanted that, I’d go play rust or something that already has it as a core feature of the gameplay loop. I get plenty of the other niche aspects of other titles through those other titles. I feel like this is a “be careful when fighting monsters” scenario, if they become the other monsters then why spend time on deadside? Love the missions and such, the feeling of going on a bit of a tarkov like raid with the higher tier missions but having to commute to the site and figure out transport etc is part of the charm. Let’s find ways to advance and improve the gameplay loop, not adopt the loop of another title, or titles that carried a lot of what they are now, from the “first in best dressed” they were at launch. It’s like looking at no man’s sky now and saying a new project from another smaller team is dogshit. No man’s sky had a decade of reiterating and trial and error to change public sentiment!
Nice video. I really like this game. As you said : It's a happy middle ground. I love DayZ but I just can't afford the time it requires, sometimes you just run and run and nothing happens or just die doing a silly mistake. And yes this is very realistic but I unfortunately don't have the time for it. On the other hand DeadSide is very well balanced regarding realism/arcade game style. After just 6 hours of gameplay I can say that I already had a lot of fun. So Yep, the game fills up a gap in the genre and with the right updates and new content it can become very successful
These feel like good quality of life changes and a step in the right direction. Not perfect but some of the base building stuff will help new players which I like, speaking as a new player!
Great video I'm surprised you don't have more subs. I watched your eco raid video a few days back too looking up base building since I just started last week. You should make a base building guide for the new people because if you search that it's all old videos that are somewhat out of date now in one way or another.. its easy enough to figure out in this game but for my first base I was looking for a basic rules guide and parts list I should grab at least and its changed since most video guides
I personally hate the new raiding system. But yes it might be good for the game. But it would require a buttload of balancing! base building atm makes no sense
"Good stuff but seriously the WORST thing about the game right now is the AI engagement range. Its honestly ridiculas and needs to be reduced significantly Game issuper immersive and fun but im pulled out when x20 guys are shooting me from 400 meters away with shotguns. Makes it feel cheap Other than that hell of a game youv got, mad underrated as a PVP experience" THIS!!
have consistant groups, not having to re add everyone each time you log in especially if you rejoin and you have seperated. More weapon modifications, suppressors for all guns, nvgs, better light beam for torches so you arent blind inside buildings as the torch is terrible. Better dlc weapon skins, as they are currently too vibrant and need more of a realistic camo look. Choppers, ai reinforcements, ai with armed vehicles such as jeeps with a gun on top or tanks. Enemy choppers, the ability to call in airstrikes on a position. I could go on, this game has the potential to be amazing, but its still too single layered
Coming from Rust and Dayz, and this game feels like somewhat of a mix of the two. there are a few things that need major work, but thats to be expected. First is the audio, its just absolute ass when it comes to vehicles and wolves esp. wolves are completely mindless and run non stop. at least deer acknowledge you and run away. Jumping is completely lame, my dude had a whole 3 inch vertical.... Obviously they need to add more uses for the components of the game. Glad to see they are doing something more with rebar, and would love to see other comps that can be recycled. We play on PVE only because were old and like to meet cool people, and dont like losing our progress in an offline. If explosives are a thing in a game, people are going to want to use them...Maybe NPC base raids could be a thing? IDK. Mods will come and the game will take off with plenty of QoL, vehicles, better HUD, probably some kind of flying apparatus. In the meantime its a fun game and has a different feel than others. Staying on the game a couple hours a week and buying a skin or two will help out with getting more to the game. Thanks for the update video!
The guns do need to be more accurate tho. It's bullshit when I loot a scorpion and have to spray a literal whole mag into an AI to kill them. From like 20 feet away..... anything further you barely hit them.
The big thing for me is pvp.pvp for me being raided and doing the raid work and killing one another. But I also feel like people tend to becoming snow flack, because they want to complain when they are raided but they also want to do the raid work, and private servers tend to suffer under it. And also people that played rust alot usually excell in the raiding aspect.
The update was a long time coming however this game needs either a night vision scope or wearable NVG's. When it gets dark it's time to either sit in your base or log off. Come on Devs those pissy flashlights at the end of the guns are fucking shite, anyway rant over.....Merry Christmas everyone from the UK.
@stewartscales1564 I love that the moonlight is still bright enough you can kinda see still. But having NVGs would be pretty awesome. Would add a whole new element to the game
Wish the devs had focused on making the POIs they had better versus expanding the map so much. The mini city POI is decent but the little micro villages could have used some loving. Then the sights/optics they have in this game...I swear they chose the most ugly ones to get outside the halo and acog. Wish there were a flood of red dots available since the iron sights are horrendous. Other than that the AI seem like a lost cause where they're going to be overtuned forever.
I just don’t understand how somebody wants to be able to raid, but offline raids, and says game should kick the originals off premises… I think if you to lazy to build a base, then offline raid, you should have to deal with them being able to log in and fight. Once you kill em all they gone, at least you earned it at that point. I hope you fill your base full of gear then get offlined, and game kicks you off your base without a chance to defend, then you will realize how stupid that sounds.
@ you wanna play a PvP game, you wanna raid/ steal a base when owners offline, but don’t want them to be able to challenge you, yet my opinion is dumb… I recommend Minecraft creative mode for folks like you. lol

Hell yeah

Yeah it runs great, I'm at 120fps pretty consistently. It definitely needs work but what doesn't lol

Military bases, the red boxes you can open with a vehicle repair kit (blow torch) . That or find them in car duffle bags and stuff
