Bad Company was HUGE back in the 70’s. Paul Rodgers has one of the purest rock and roll voices of all time!
For sure.
I agree
Hellz Yeah!! Saw Bad Co a few times back then.... Amazing!! 👍❤️💯🎸😁
Great voice
Saw him 1st time with Bad Co on Desolation Angels tour, then with The Firm. He was also great with Queen & imo, didnt get enough rec for it.
In this episode of Brad & Lex, We're actually in good company....This 1974 banger lead by Paul Rodgers creates the "oooh factor" for Lex and Brad has no shame in his game admitting he was caught off guard and praising the structure and guitar work exhibiting his signature "side to side sway" as his counterpart lets the jam give her a "drug bop".
Hey Smitty your too funny 🤘🤘
@@raydotzler9117 Hey Ray, thanks
I love it!!!!
You write exactly what we see but in a humorous way and I love it.
Thanks for the play by play Smitty
Classic song from a great band and a top class lead vocalist.
Another great tune by Bad Company that doesn't get enough love is "Silver, Blue and Gold." I wholeheartedly recommend it.
I agree ☝️
...one of my favorites Dan
Omg!!! My absolute favorite song by them!!
Bad Company is legendary.
Saw them in concert with ZZ Top a few years ago. They can still rock.
Paul Rodgers is possibly the best singer in rock music. When Freddie Mercury passed, Paul sang with Queen for a while.
Because Rodgers was Freddie's hero. That's saying something!
Ty I'm flattered :)
unsatisfactor collaboration. queen, brilliant. rodgers, brilliant. together, bleurgh!
Brad even smiled through most of it. The mark of a true hit!
True🙂
haha I was thinking the same thing!
Cause he felt like makin' love :0)
He denies it.
@@Divocwaxnah! He’s on it
Paul Rogers has an amazing voice. Recommend also listening to the song “All Right Now” from his stint with his original band Free. The song, it’s lyrics, and the guitar riff are rock and roll icons.
Free had a massive impact on Lynyrd Skynyrd
Free is such an underrated band. Just true “Classic Rock”
I think they actually reacted to All Right Now!
I agree. If i could create my own rock band, PR would definitely be up front
@@krosys he'd definitely be in my top choices. So much soul in his voice & great range also. Plus, th guy's got 1 hell of a shelf life, still sounds great last I heard🍻
Bad Company rocks.
Bad Company are always overlooked when it comes to best rock bands of the 70's lists. Never regarded for inclusion into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, and just generally forgotten. But whenever they make the reaction rounds, people are always surprised by the quality of the music, and of course by the powerhouse vocals of Paul Rodgers. They were a really good band who deserve more recognition.
Yeah, Bad Company is great. They got their start while Johnny was a schoolboy and he heard his first Beatles song. Love Me Do I think it was and from there it didn't take him long. Got himself a guitar, used to play every night. Now he's in a rock 'n' roll outfit and everything's alright.
Oh Yeah Johnny was a shooting Star:)
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate how y'all get right into the 'meat' of the video within seconds. I hate how some reaction channels take forever to get into it.
Exactly - I'm blessed - your blessed - we're all blessed - it's a blessed day - blessings to all - blessings to me - I'm loved - you're loved - we're all loved and blessed. And then the song...
Amen, going right into it is what we're here for.
Agree completely!
I loved watching your faces!! This is such a sweet song that then hits you with that dirty/sexy riff and catches you off guard. You both got the best grins - what a great reaction!!
Brad be thinking he's gonna get some,,,,👍👍👍😎
You know when Lex goes...Ewwww! She likes it...good vibe...fire..lol
Totally agree!
Song was always a definite conversation starter. Lol
Anyone else catch how many times Lex gave Brad the side eye?? 😍😍
I’m so ancient that I saw Bad Company at one of their earliest gigs, a show headlined by the Who at Charlton in south London in May 1974. An amazing concert also featuring Lou Reed, Humble Pie, Montrose and others. Most of us were there for the Who but this lot were much more than just a supporting band.
Lucky man!
OMG I forgot Lou Reed was on the bill, I missed Montrose, I think the concert started earlier than the advertised time. But what a great day that was its etched in my memory for ever. I can't remember was Frampton with Humble Pie at the time.
Paul Rodgers is one of the greatest soulful rock n roll singers ever, great band! You should do the song Bad Company by them as well ( the song is the same name as the bands name) its a terrific song, also Shooting Star is amazing!
They actually did do Bad Company already.
@@brettkenschaft4239 Oh ok... thank you
No they should do some classic Free before that. IMHO.
@@DawnSuttonfabfourYou have to watch them live that band was bad ass live the energy is off the charts
This song still sounds as great as when it was released--a true rock classic
That ICONIC voice of Paul Rogers. Was one of the most sought after voices in all of rock-n-roll. This song is a BANGER!!! The other thing that is a banger is your reaction. You guys compliment each other so well. Lex, you always make me laugh with your never-ending quirky expressions of excitement. And Brad, you are so grounded and seemingly entranced in a study of the whole experience. I love you guys!
Paul Rodgers of Bad company created a band called The Firm and had a couple of hitS Satisfaction Guaranteed, and Radio Active. The band included Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. You gotta do on of them!
One of the UK’s greatest rock singers who was from my hometown of Middlesbrough in the north east of England. He was in the band Free before Bad Company, who had many hits like ‘Alright Now’, ‘My Brother Jake’, ‘Wishing Well’ etc. I saw Free quite a few times, the first time I was just 16 and they were supporting King Crimson, who were just about the release their first album ‘In the Court of the Crimson King’.
‘Wishing Well’ coverd by Blacfoot on their debit album Strike heard it live numerous time a classic
Bad Company - Bad Company is another good one of theirs.
They actually did that one already.
@Brett Kenschaft Ahh, I had a feeling they might have, but wasn't sure.
Bad Company, singing Bad Company, off the album Bad Company. Never ceases to give me a chuckle, lol.
So, Paul Rogers, one of the great rock 'n' roll voices.… You can never go wrong with any band he has ever been in. Pull up any bad company album or song and you cannot go wrong.
This song is everything a great song should be. A story, a love song, a road song, a rock anthem.
Thanks for a great reaction to one of my favorite bands. Careful Brad, you were almost smiling too much! 🤣🤣🤣
I'm glad you both liked it. Hope to see more of this group soon.
My favorite "Rock Voice" = Bad Company was the first band signed by my favorite band of all time Led Zeppelin to Swan Song label. Peter Grant was a VERY underrated G among managers! I did get to hear Paul Rodgers perform with The Firm (and Jimi Page). I suggest "Simple Man" by Bad Co. - it's not the same song as Skynyrd's but super relevant to todays political climate!
I once suggested they do the big 3 "Simple Man" songs. Skynyrd, Bad Co., and Charlie Daniels.
@@unholydriver4987 Don't forget Shinedown's version (best imo)
Hell of a band. I rode around with their greatest hits in the cassette player all the time back in High School.
!0 from 6
@@raymo6795 You are correct sir!
@@Gashouse69 ..wore out several copies myself✌️🎶
Just repurchased greatest hits on cd a couple of months ago, lol. And I just got The Firm cd delivered a couple of days ago. Jamming to it in my truck earlier today.
Didn't the album name come from 10 songs from 6 albums?
Paul Rodgers. One of the greatest rock singers.
If there is something called an arena rock love song, this is it.
The smile on Lex's face tells me she had a good eargasm during the outro with the guitar solo - PEACE LOVE n HIPPYNESS ✌☮
My second favorite kind of gasm✌️☮️
@@edwardwilliams8238 same here when it comes to good music & I'm glad I grew up in the era of it 1964-2000
@@edwardwilliams8238 Brads a lucky guy. Lex is amazing❣
Everything Bad Company put out was fire my whole teenage years was with them and I seen them and I am 59yrs old keep on Rockin 🤘
I like Seagull my favorite I'm 59 too rock on
Lucky enough to have seen this live. Paul Rodgers has one of my favorite male voices. So clean, but soulful.
Can't go wrong with any of their songs for your next reaction. Shooting Star is one of their more iconic songs, and tells a great story.
I grew up on this band! Great rabbit hole for you guys to go down. They have alot of great songs
Did you have one of the marijuana leaf t-shirts I used to wear mine to school
Bad Company is a great band and you should check out Holy Water
Brian Howe doesn't get enough credit
..sort of a different band, but they had some good stuff
Bad Company is one of my all-time favorite groups. Their album, 10 from 6 is a must have.
Great reaction! Another GREAT one by them is "Shooting Star" hope you guys can get to this one.
Ready for Love and Shooting Star are two great songs by Bad Company that I believe you would enjoy!
YES!!
Glad you guys are getting into Bad Company finally an acoustic number they had called seagull it's quite cool
."Rock Steady" and"The Way I Choose" are two great, but underplayed songs from their debut album you should check out.
Paul Rodgers voice is one of the coolest in rock music.
Paul Rogers, one of our great British singers who I don’t believe has had the recognition he deserves.
Such a great band! My favorite songs are Runnin with the Pack and Silver, Blue & Gold.
You know its good when even Brad is smiling ear to ear the whole 2nd half.
I've loved this song from the day it was released; It came out in 1975 when I was 11. For me, this is one of those classics that never goes out of style. Great reaction!
I saw them in 75 first concert t was 13
You guys should react to…
Bad Company - Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy
🎸🤘
Fun song!!
Oh yeah, a super great vibe!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Paul Rodgers voice is one of a kind. I think his best performance is on "Seagull". He really demonstrates a lot of range in it and the song is just beautiful.
During the 1970's one of the most popular trends for the high school kids, was to wear Concert T-shirts to school, in 1976, Bad Companies Run With The Pack T-shirt was it and automatically added several notches to your cool kid status, if you had one.
I saw them do that concert in Mobile. I cannot remember who opened for them. Might have been Kansas. We were late.
Paul Rodgers (singer) and Simon Kirke (drummer) took the simplicity of Free and carried it on with Bad Company. They had a unique talent for making every moment of a song count by not overdoing anything.
Brad actually smiled the whole song. That means more Bad Co. Lot of cool songs like Rock n Roll Fantasy (my favorite) Bad Company, Shooting Star, Burning Sky, Ready for Love, Movin’ On, Can’t Get Enough, Run With the Pack. Great straight up 70s hard rock. Paul’s vocals 🔥
Paul Rogers is one of my favorite vocalists, he is amazing!! Saw him live a few years ago, it was a very good show!! ❤
Brad had a Smile from Ear To Ear on this one, I have a strong suspicion of what was on his mind!!!!!
Baby Makin Musik!
That was the best smile I've seen from Brad in ages.
Guys, Bad Company were one of the UK's finest rock/blues bands of the seventies, with Paul Rogers on lead vocals. They evolved from anther band called 'Free' who also rocked a whole generation with great hits like 'Alright Now' and 'Wishing Well' and 'My Brother Jake'. Bad Company's hits were 'Feel Like Making Love'' which you've just reacted so beautifully to, and the title track of their album 'Bad Company' which was another fantastic track. Hope you give that one a listen to soon as well. Thanks guys!
This song is hard and soft at the same time. One of my top 10 favorite songs ever made. It's legendary
Baby makin' music 😜
When you take the vinyl record of this (33 1/3rd RPM), and play it on 45 RPM speed, it sounds like Dolly Parton singing it
Ok gonna do that tonight and mess up the old lady.
LOL!
🤣
Bad Company is one of the greatest. I saw them when I went to visit my brother in Florida. Great show. The band still sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing. Much love and respect from Baltimore as always.
One of my fav all time bands. They are a '70s band that doesn't get much attention except from those who lived when they were at their best. Glad you picked this one!
I always felt that this song mirrored "making love" (the act itself). Starts off soft, then it gets a little more aggressive, repeat, repeat, then finishing up with a bang, lol. :P
I saw them play this song . I was 15 yrs.old 10th grade . Saw them at the
L.A. Forum great concert. I can still picture it in my mind . awesome .
Yes!!! Been a favorite of mine always..and always will be!!🔥🔥💖💙👍🤘🏼
Never doubted Brad “Dad” had it in him! ❤
Lead Singer Paul Rodgers Was A Member Of Several Other Bands,, Including This British Rock Supergroup,, The Firm "Radioactive"..A Huge Hit & A Must Hear.
in the late 70s and early 80s this was a "Must Have" song at parties, all the Southern Rock bands had several songs that were must haves....
I used to work at a Ford assembly plant building trucks. I had a huge Boom Box at my work station that I would play at max volume (It kept the Foreman away). Whenever this song came on I would sing at the top of my lungs "I Feel Like Making Trucks". Every night five minutes before quitting time I would play "Hallowed be thy Name" by Maiden, put me in the right mood for my evening.
You guys hit on a really great song. Great reaction! I remember when this first Bad Co album came out it was touted as a return to basic rock (in the age of prog rock, and Zeppelin's increasingly complex compositions). Punk rock a few years later was the real return to basic rock, but this album was a nice stop along the way. BTW this first Bad Co album has a bunch of great songs on it, and it was one of the first albums put out by Zeppelin's new label Swan Song (Pretty Thing's Silk Torpedo might have been the first).
Saw Bad Company in concert around 1976 /77 Here at the old Jacksonville Coliseum. They were great! There was a British Aircraft carrier, The Ark Royal docked at the Mayport Naval base here at the time. Many of the English Sailors were in the crowd wearing their uniforms. Was a really fun time and the opening act was Kansas. Great show!
Bad Company is underrated as hell
This is what I like to call a driving song. When it comes on your radio your foot just presses down on the gas! Love it!
Love your reactions. The song says it all. Thank you!!!
Paul Rogers.
Free.
Hugely underrated.
British rock music at its most sublime.
Been listening to this song since the eighties. I have randomly broke out into this song to my husband for the last 25 years. It always makes him smile. Love this song.
I remember riding around in my Dad's shaggin' waggon after high school. Pretty girl on my side, not a care in the world and high as a kite. Those were the days.
Sarge
Bad Company was a supergroup formed from Free, Mott the Hoople and King Crimson. They were the 1st band Led Zeppelin signed to their own record label Swan Song.
That's one of my favorite Jack Daniels whiskey sippin songs from back in the day. I was blessed to grow up in the 70,s and the music from that era is timeless.
one of the greatest songs ever made, matches you two perfectly...love you guys, god bless
I think for the first time Brad, by the creeping smile on his face, actually gets the primal urge of rock-n-roll. His basic instinct has been raised and exposed by a raw, natural, unexplainable possession of the music. Congratulations!!
also one of the great vocalists in rock history
One of my all time favorite songs I'm glad y'all checked it out keep up all the good vibes
You guys have a very intelligent and knowledgeable group of followers! I have learned a lot from the comments, and I love your reactions to music that was so much a part of my life in jr high and high school!
I love this song! And when a song makes Brad smile! Well it makes me happy too.
One of my favourite songs of all time and I still love singing it 🥰🥰
I had to smile like both of you guys through the whole song. Classic rock.
I love the grin on Brad's face when they go into the first chorus.
I saw these guys back around 1975. EXCELLENT live band!!! 👍
The memories this brings back!! What a time to be a teenager. Thank you for this!
Ohhhh, Paul Rodgers. His voice (etc.) is sexy as HELL! I watched a concert on TV about a year ago and he still had it - leather pants and all. LOL They have some amazing discography! I recommend:
Shooting Star
Rock & Roll Fantasy
Good Lovin' Gone Bad
Ready For Love
Guitarist Mick Ralphs left Mott The Hoople in 1973 and along with Paul Rodgers who had also recently left his band Free, formed Bad Company. Mick Ralphs wrote and recorded a song 'Ready For Love' while with Mott in 1972. Bad Company later covered this song on their debut album. Definitely worth checking out both versions. Always wondered if it later influenced 'Feel Like Making Love'?.
One of the greatest bands ever!!!!
This whole album was amazing!
I envy you guys. I wish I could go back to hearing all these songs for the first time.
I'm not quite old enough to have known this Classic when it was released, but I'm old enough to have, as a fairly young lad, purchased the Double-Cassette compilation "Guitar Rock" from a TV commercial back in the 80's, largely based on the strength of this song, as well as "Rock N' Roll, Hoochie Koo" by Rick Derringer and "Whipping Post" by The Allman Brothers Band. So many brilliant songs on that collection, totally worth the money. 👍🤘
Way back when I was single, a good friend invited me to party at her apt.
I usually had a fair assortment of tapes in my truck & I'd brought a bunch in with me.
There were a few people there & things were going well
The conversation turned to music as "Bad Company" started playing.
One of the girls at the table said "Never heard of them, what other songs do they do?"
The host said "Oh they've got some great stuff..."
and with my brain not fully engaged, I opened my mouth,
looked this attractive stranger dead in the eyes
& said "Oh yeah,... Feel like making love....."
The sly "if he only knew" looks that flashed across the faces of everyone else at the table surprised me...
and that completely derailed my memory train..
& I draw a COMPLETE BLANK on the names of any other Bad Co. songs.
Soooo my statement just hung there....
alone
like proposition
rather than a song title...
......
She suddenly turned bright red & looked away.
EVERYBODY, except the 2 of us busts out laughing.
Yep... I admit it...
I WAS Commander Clueless.
But ya gotta understand - I didn't know there were extenuating circumstances & ulterior motives at play,
I came to find out later that the girl liked me, the host was actually trying to "introduce" us.
I guess it worked...
We've been together for 34 years now, 25 of them married.
I saw them perform this song in 1979 on their Desolation Angles tour. Same concert had Heart opening up for Bad Co. Got to see two of the most iconic voices in Rock N' Roll; Paul Rodgers and Anne Wilson.
I LOVE guitarists that can play around the singer, instead of playing over them like the hard-headed ones I've had to work with....This song is a great example.
Absolutely a great song/band. Rock on Brad & Lex
Damn.... what memories. Our band used to do almost every song on that album when it was first released.
Bad Company Bad Company was Bad Ass album. I'm so glad I grew up with music from the 70's.
Bad Company was considered another 'super group', a term bantered around in the late sixties/early seventies, similar to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Band members from Free and Mott the Hoople joined forces to create one of the best rock bands in history. Agree with previous comments about Paul Rodgers' amazing rock voice. Underrated at times is Mick Ralphs, the lead guitarist. Crafted some legendary riffs and lead solos. Also recommend "Good Lovin' Gone Bad" as another banger.
I still remember when Rock N Rock Fantasy would play on the radio when I was a kid. Loved that song!
Seeing both smile is a wonderful sign ☺
Paul the Voice Rogers, one of the best voices in all of Rock & Roll. Bad Company had several excellent tunes. There first two albums were probably their best. 'Shooting Star", "Bad Company", "Seagull", "Can't Get Enough", "Movin On", "Electric Land" are all really god tunes, classic rock.
This was 70's creativity all the way. Many bands/songs were a collaboration of different ideas pieced together to make one great song. Sometimes those ideas were floating around for years in musicians heads. Even more than one musicians head's. The end of this song was like a jam session among the band members. It may have even been something that came about while practicing it and in one of those practice session they jammed out at the end and decided that it was a good idea and recorded it that way. You never know how a song got created back then. Sometimes, and even lots of times, depending on the band, things were not planned. They just happened and they decide to keep it on the recording. Many songs of the past will have someone talking in the background or maybe a mistake that sounded great upon playback and they would leave it in. The Beatles were know big time for doing that.
I have been watching your videos and love your reaction to 70's real legendary bands!! Lex has crossed over completely and Brad is on his way! No other music like this exist anywhere really! Now you see where band shirts are from 40 and 50 years later!!! Loved your Led Zeppelin tshirt!! Keep discovering!
Lex's reaction to that song is what we were looking for when we played it for the ladies...
