BG Music:
Foreigner was a hit machine.
When you buy this band's greatest hits. You "truly" get great hits!!!
Truth!!
Love several of their songs and loved them live at Sweden Rock Festival 2009. Don't know why I haven't explored them further
Wife here.., The crowd went crazy when they did this song in concert!!...Multi-Cultured concert.., And .hey Brad you explained that vibe perfectly!!
He is *not* the boy your momma & daddy want to see at their door coming to pick you up on a date! And he seems pretty proud of it, too! Love Lou Gramm's voice 😍
"Dirty Black Boys and Dirty White Boys Unite" - Brad
I'm in brother.
I'm a 58 year old white boy and relate with Brad so much. He reminds me of me when I was young. Sometimes you don't feel worthy even when you are but can't see it. I'm so glad you guys are doing so well.
Lou was just singing straight up I'm a DWB. As a huge fane of Foreigner he makes several references to being "dirty" for instance in Hot Blooded is all about that groupie love after the show. Props to Brad for saying "I can relate because I'm a dirty black boy" Hey it must be working for Brad because he has a hottie and a baby on the way with her. 👍
fan not fane
They were a hit machine 2 decades in a row I like their song 🎵 "hot blooded"
Hot Blooded and Dirty White Boy were Tween anthems for this 55 y.o.
I believe the meaning of Dirty White Boy is from the Old South. It has two meanings: one a whiteboy who could play the blues and or a white boy who likes black girls.
I worked with and cared for a young black gentleman with autism
who loved this song and would sing it all time when it came on the radio. Hilarious yet charming at the same time, he didn't see color or understand it.
This original Foreigner lineup was fantastic!
Love that music is relatable to anyone, and everyone identifies with different aspects of it. I love this song because for 66 years been a dirty white boy.
This song was from the "Head Games" album which was a rocker. The Bible belt wanted this song (and the album) banned because they thought it was racist, and the album cover was to them "objectionable." but Lou Graham & Mick Jones wrote it about Elvis Presley
One of the most under rated rock vocalist. He had the vibe and chops!
I would hardly classify the great Lou Gramm as underrated as most of my friends in high school when their debut album was released thought he was awesome. He will forever be my all-time favorite male rock vocalist and he was simply spectacular during his prime. Lou's also an incredibly nice guy...humble and soft-spoken and very much a blue collar guy who never forgot where he came from.
The REAL Foreigner! The ROCK band!
This was inspired by Elvis. When this came out, I immediately purchased this song based on that rhythm guitar. The tone is very dirty.
One of my favourite songs by Foreigner. Great rock track. Love the voice and guitar sound.
Brad - that may be your reaction to the song. And I understand your feelings. But I’m a 59 yr old white women. I follow you and your beautiful wife. You are far from a dirty black boy. All boys in youth are looking to make a statement to push boundaries. Sometimes leads to trouble. That’s called learning. Anyone would be proud of you for a son in law.
Right on Brad!!! I'm the dirty white boy lol. Keep rockin ya'll lol.🤟🤟👍👍
power voice!..power guitar!... power drums!
These guys were all over the radio in their hay day
You finally listened to dirty white boy!!! 💙💙💙 I'm only 30 and I have this on my driving playlist 😂🤷🏻♂️ foreigner is very underrated!!
You might like Urgent, Juke Box Hero, Waiting for a Girl Like You. Foreigner had ALOT of hits.
Brad I’m with you, I was the same way I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. Always liked bye their moms but not dad lol 😂
Brad said "One side of your family..." sounds juicy. Let's get into this!
I've got the Foreigner belt from the 86 tour! Bad ass!
Brad ,glad to see how you related to this because it’s was AWSOME
Great tune.
Brad gets this. Yes! He's into the song. Didn't read lyrics. Just "went to the concert," and felt it all. Way to go, Brad!!!
Rev on the Red Line is a under played gem of a song. It would be a delight to see your reaction.
❤❤
Anyone else grinning from ear to ear...Brad is on it!!!! 😊
🥳👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥳
This group just turned out the hits, one after the other!! Love Foreigner!! ❤️
Lex...patience is NOT a virtue...the last month...the longest, hang in there!! 👊🏽
❤❤❤❤ Lou Graham had a great voice !! Brings back great memories!!
Live At The Rainbow 1977. Phenomenal.
It's 2024 and as a hugh Foreigner fan, I'm stoked to hear them doing my first concert and grateful that they're going into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year.
Foreigner had soooo many hits and this earlier one really gets you going! Look at their hair back then! Brad, you crack me up with your comments and Lex has her own perspective - love it😊Thanks for posting this one guys - you gave me a boost of energy today!🧡
I can relate...
I saw them play on their tour for their "4" album at the old Spectrum in Philly. When they played this live, they did a long extended outro, and drove the crowd into a frenzy....the place was going wild and they blew the roof off the place.
I was at the Spectrum that weekend during their 4 tour. They played three sold-out shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Do you remember which night that you were there? I was there for their final show on Sunday night...Billy Squirer opened. I really miss the Spectrum. Yeah, the concourse level was tight and it lacked ammenities by today's standards but once in your seat I much preferred it over the Wells Fargo Center. I would imagine Boston feels the same way about the Boston Garden.
@@hondaphan4172 I was at the Sunday show w/ Billy Squier. Awesome show and venue.
Lou has such a great voice, I've tried karaoke and can't hit the notes like him. Just fantastic and glad you did this song.
I've been hoping for a reaction video for this song. I play in a band in north Florida. Our lead singer / lead guitarist is a Seminole Indian. Every so often, I like to bring up the idea of covering this song, just to get the singer to roll his eyes at the idea.
How would you do it? Change the lyric to brown/red/ or remove the color and say poor.
What draws me to you guys is you are proud of your heritage without disregard of others heritage.
WTF?
Saw them in concert in the 70s. They rock. The lead singer is a marty Feldman look alike
Probably my favorite Foreigner tune 🤘
Been a DWB for quite some time! Welcome to the club brother Brad!!
I'm loving Brad's expansion of his comments. I remember in the early days when he listened for a literal interpretation of the lyrics and here he is!
Foreigner was a great band for cruising in the car or jamming at a house party.
Singing lead is Lou Gramm. I saw him in concert at a car show with Eddie Money, in Yuma AZ. Cost $10 above the cost to get into the car show. My wife and I went. Sat on the grass, and had a great time.
I've listened to them do them kind of songs back in the 70s. We called them the hippie days
Great song great band. Brings me back to high school days. Love it
Love your feedback & relatable comments Brad.
Dude you are a stud, stand up man now.
Lex & you lucked out. Please be well & happy!
You will be tremendous parents- book it!💪
PS:
Lou Graham is such a soulful & friend underrated singer
More Foreigner or Lou solo
Seen foreigner head liner and journey back up 1978 one of my best concert
Happened to catch a foreigner I was right after they put out the head game album man of course Louis was awesome the whole band was awesome yeah better Just strong singer such an always incredible voice always
Rev on the red line brother why was living it and breathing in those days you know
I feel like Mr. Rogers every time I watch Brad and Lex. "Will you be my neighbor?" (Context, just finished watching your Adam Calhoun "racism" video).
KILLER RIFF in this one!!! Love this song!
What a great Rocker! Vocals and guitar are awesome.
Ha! Brad killn meh with the relatable comment 😆 I was just a little kid when this song came out and I was always wondering what the singer was talking about. 🤔🧐 My elementary school self thinking, take a bath, already!🤣
My daughter recently heard this for the 1st time, lmmfao!!! Should have seen her face lol!!!
Man I haven't heard this in years. What a jam.
Rap Rev on the red line by foreigner foreigner to arrive on the red line red
I've been down there and I gotta get up on a storm and go start rod you gotta play some p**** to go for the star rider star rider by phone or that's a d*** good song
Head games head games that's a pretty good tone not there by foreigner
And then you gotta go with the jukebox jukebox hero that was a good song by fronter foreigner done a jukebox hero
One of my favorites by Foreigner.
Man you guys never fail to amaze me
I've always loved this song and it's vibe
This was a big part of my soundtrack growing up.. it was heard playing out of many a car back in the day!
Hey, back in the early 80s and beyond we were blessed with Foreigner and Bad Company at the same time. It was crazy. Best decade of my 63yrs!!! 🙏🇺🇸✌️😎
LOVE this song! ❤️
that's how my Momma explained the lyrics to me when I was 7 (when the tune dropped originally in 79)
I think Brad hit the nail on the head in regards to the message of the song. If I’m not mistaken ( and I might be) the “dirty white boy” lyric was inspired by an Elvis quote. Or not. It rocks anyway.
You are right. It had to do with Elvis Presley. 🙂
Songfacts: Who was the "Dirty White Boy"?
Mick: For me, it was Elvis Presley. To me, he always was that dirty white boy who changed the shape of music completely. It was talking about the kind of heritage that he left, and I think that had an effect on all the musicians that came after, like Mick Jagger - he was also a dirty white boy. Elvis paved the way for all that.
This is one of my favorite song's. ITS JUST TOO COOL
About to watch-LOVE this song and LOVE Foreigner! Sooo many great hits!! 😁💃💃✨
I saw them on the tour for their second album which is a couple albums before this current one and my favorite of their albums, but it was definitely a rocking show. Blue Morning, Blue Day brought the house down.
An amazing live band. very good.
Unrelated to this great hit by Foreigner, Lex's hair looks amazing.
Good song. Have you done “ double vision “ or “cold as ice “yet?
I know the feeling Brad when I was in the army my future wife/ex-wife wanted me to meet her parents who were in the suburbs with two six-figure salary's ... didn't go over too well because she was told, 'he's not like us' 😂
🤘🤘 Most of my black friends growing up had Foreigner albums. I've always seen them as a crossover band.
Also check out their song from this same album called "Women".
I also highly recommend “WOMEN” by foreigner. Dirty White Boy is a personal favorite too. This is a great driving song!
Lou Grahams (Foreigner lead singer) had an excellent solo hit with Midnight Blue.
Brings back memories of riding my BMX bike around the neighborhood, chewing Big League Chew, with this in the Walkman. Great memories.
Vale Robbie Bachman
Robbie passed away a few days ago. aged 69
Robbie was BTO's Drummer during their 'heyday' in the 70's.
He played on all their Hit songs and albums.
BTO were a great Band and Robbie was a great Drummer.
RIP mate.
A "bad boy" looks the part but a "clean cut" boy hides his filth. Truth!!
The 80s had so many great guitar riffs
One of my favorite bands
My favorite Foreigner song
I have been waiting a while for you guys to do this one, love it!
You got it Brad,good interpretation!!!
Theirs was my first concert
And congrats, Brad, on understanding the metaphoric meaning of this song!
That is it , hit the nail right on the head Brad. We are not upper crust people. As men or boys. Nice job Brad!!!
See what you get to look forward to with Jack, Lex? 🤣 I have 2 sons,... so yeah LOL 🥰
HILARIOUS...Brad we United, Braddah...Aloha
Funny to see brad smile and relate to the song and brad is right doesn’t matter race
Would be interesting if Brad blasted this song while driving down the street.
I think he’s planning on doing just that! I’d pay money to see that! 👏🏻👏🏻😂
Saw them several times.. so many hits and Lou Gramm has one of the best voices!
Foreigner so brings me back to high school...they were so much fun - and GREAT in concert. Original line up was the best. Thanks for reacting to this! When is that baby coming?! 🙂
I think we all feel that way when we first have to meet the others family. Most times I always felt like I was dating girls that were out of my league and wondered why and if they were imbarrased by me. Love watching you do the reactions. Thanks
"Girls play at safer!" hahahahahaha, oh my gosh I can't breathe, hahahahahaha ha!
You did not just really say that. 🤭 Consider this, just a different kind of trouble.......
FOREIGNER:
"Fool For You Anyway"
"Break It Up"
"Head Games"
🥁🎸🔥Check out the song “Rev on the red line” by foreigner, was written about Lou Graham’s younger car racing days up and down Lake Avenue in Rochester New York where he’s from! Great song! 🥁🔥🎸💣
Lou Graham is one of the great voices or 70's rock.
You guys are just too cool.
You gotta love it
A good companion piece to this is Loverboy's "Hot Girls In Love" , you have to check out the video too.
what a fantastic voice from lou gramme
Heh....Having listened to this song hundreds of times, I have never watched the actual video before. Thanks!
Hurray for this entire album front to back.
Side One is one of my favorite album sides ever.
🤘🏼
Yes. "Do What You Like", "Blinded by Science", and a host of other songs, this album is truly underrated.
