I've said this in other comments for this video, Wes was trying to stay in the same key as Kurt did and it really got ugly. As he strained his voice I can hear it deteriorate more and more, making it sound worse. You would think that they would make changes during rehearsal but this is what we got.... a train wreck. i actually really like Puddle of Mud! they arent nearly as well known as they should be!! had some great tunes back in the early 2000s.... clearly the lead singers voice hadnt aged well and it wasnt helping the fact he was trying to sound like Cobain...big mistake...he should've sang in his OWN style!! ...you roasting that guy was HILARIOUS tho!! I liked the CD with "Blurry" and all the other singles they realised from that one... I mean, they have talent. I'm so confused here with what happened?? I'm not a vocal coach or anything like that but his vocals are so bad because he TRIED to be like Kurt. Obviously he failed and when you fail while singing it typically sounds HORRIBLE. I originally thought you stopped the video the first time to check the word he changed. He changed ear to head. "I've got a head to lend" which I assume was regarding Kurt blowing most of his off.
This Wes, as opposed to the requester Wes, whom I hope isn't actually the same guy, has had a lot of issues in his past. It sounds like a bad combination of a ruined voice from using the wrong technique to sing with grit and trying to sound like Kurt. Also, this might explain why he's allegedly been caught lip synching on stage several times.
I didn't think the guitarist was actually laughing. He knows he's getting paid. None of the rest of the band are original members.
Hello John! I don't know enough about the band to pick out the band members or their names. Wes is the only one i can pinpoint and he's not the one who requested this trainwreck (hahaha). You hit it on the head, he TRIED to sound like Kurt. His vocal training or experience should've helped these guys to make key changes after rehearsals. Very sad performance indeed! Hope you are okay over there on the west coast.
