IMO the little imperfections make those towels so much better. It adds a warm feeling and gives them a character. If I were to buy something like this from a artisan, I would want a towel set that had some of those!
It really was a lot of work! Filming it and trying to organize my thoughts in a coherent and entertaining way was also a huge challenge. Happy it came together and is at least watchable!
I really like your floor loom. It looks simpler than some I've seen. May I ask what model it is? Your towels came out beautifully! It's such a pleasure to use things you made yourself, isn't it?
Thanks! I love it too! It’s a counter balance loom that was made in the late 80s/early 90s that I bought from an older gentleman when I lived in North Carolina. I believe it’s a Mira 2 made by Leclerc. It also looks suspiciously similar to a Fanny loom by the same company. I like to think of it as a Mira, though. I absolutely love my using the towels I made myself. I appreciate your comments!
I used some random 8/2 cotton that I bought from Peter Patchis yarn club. It’s a monthly email with crazy deals on weaving yarn. I believe I got 1lb of each colors for about $8.00 each!

Thank you for the inspiration! It’s good to know that people still appreciate the slight imperfections in handmade items 😀
What a huge amount of work and an amazing payoff!

@@Sticatto And three camera angles to juggle too! Keep up the great work, we love it.
I would be so intimidated trying to do the plaid. You must be very skilled and paitient! 😂❤
It’s really not too bad! Once you get the hang of all the things you need to keep track of, it’s pretty smooth 😅 I appreciate the kind words!
