@@SnowCrashed1 I'd buy it immediately if it was actually $50k CAD or they made the camperized version of it like they said they were going to do, like the 'westfalia' version of the original VW Bus. In the 2000's I bought a 1981 VW bus for $1500, loved it, had the engine rebuilt, put about 5k$ into restoring it, getting it totally solid, reliable, and kitting it out just how I wanted it. I did so many road trips, camping trips, I towed a trailer with my motocross bikes on the back, and had priceless memories in that bus for a total cost of $6500k. I never broke down, that bus never failed me once. It was a beast. I think VW missed the mark on this version. It's way too expensive, and they should have made a hybrid option. The VW bus was all about road trips with family and friends for myself, and many owners. Currently I'm looking at buying a Ford Maverik hybrid, all wheel drive lariat fully loaded, for 40k$ US, with 40mpg, put a shell on it, call it a day, and save 20k$ -30k$ over this VW.

Please stop telling people that an electric car's high voltage battery will "eventually" need to be replaced - the battery will more than likely outlive the car. Plenty of studies out there have the data to back it up. Batteries today don't eventually "die" from use, they just loose range over time, but you won't need to spend $50k or whatever to replace it. That news article you flashed up was for a damaged battery, not an "old" one. And charging to 100% on a DCFC is a waste of time - stop at 80%. Other than that, love the review!

"Great video! I completely agree that the ID Buzz's price needs to come down to compete with the Kia EV9. Currently, it's priced in Rivian territory, making it unaffordable for many.
Also, I wanted to point out that your review of the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 Pro S may not accurately reflect the current model. The 2024 ID.4 has undergone significant improvements.
Would love to see a review of the updated 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 Pro S RWD, boasting:
    • 282 horsepower
    • 402 lb-ft torque

    • New 4.0 software
Your thoughts on the latest model would be invaluable!"

Great video, but the battery comment was a misinformed low blow. Your own backyard is averaging 11-12 years for recent vehicle longevity. VW has a 160k KM / 8 year battery warranty in Canada. And as you all are well aware (at least I'd hope from respected auto reviewers) heat is the number 1 contributing factor to accelerated battery degradation. Battery thermal management systems are critical to longevity, a system early EVs didn't have. Imagine charging your phone in direct sunlight on a 30C + day on the asphalt.

This is called VW Multivan...but the ID Buzz is a pure electric platform...no room for an ICE at all.
The short Version in Europe is only 4.71m and has the same cargospace to the front seats like the 4,97m Multivan (ICE needs a lot of space)...this is the advantage of a distinct EV platform.
Length is no issue in US/Canada, but if you have ever driven in a ancient city center in Europe...you will understand...
Why should it not last? Battery has a warranty for 160k km upto at least 80%...if it would really fail in this distance, you will get a new one for free...but this will not happen anyway.

I'm from Germany and absolutely love that car. It's too expensive here, too. Used cars with few kilometers on it and with the "older" spec (shorter version, some less hp and a little smaller battery pack) are sold for just under (EUR) 50k in medium spec. That being said: The *regular* T7 (Diesel) is also absolutely expensive these days. Let's see if it becomes more affordable in two years, when my old minivan will be retired.
