As I said before and I’ll say it again, that 6 chime is a banger on that thing! Awesome presence and sounds beautiful! Great job once again Jack, hoping to come film this locomotive one day!
I was just thinking how 2926’s 6 chime has a yell quality that reminds me a little bit of 3751’s old 5 chime. Amazing what a difference in steam pressure can do.
Special thanks indeed. This engine is elusive in my lifetime I was able to catch her in the wild a few times in trucking time. It would be nice to put her to work, take her out for a run. Stretch those legs a little bit.
@@deerfoxthunderteam1649 They're similar because 2926 and 4449 have similar operating pressure with both being roughly 300 psi. Also the story of it being stolen is false, it was removed on a trip after the owner was concerned it was getting damaged.
Do you ever wonder if NMHR would consider selling or loaning the ATSF 2926 to BNSF? I don’t know what they’d do with the locomotive, but maybe they’d put the locomotive on the main rails across the states.
@@elliotmock8391 BNSF has better things to worry about, they're a business. There will be mainline excursions eventually, issue is covering insurance costs, which is estimated to be roughly 500k. I'd give it maybe 5 years at the least until there's a proper excursion.
@ArkansasLocomotiveWorks Having worked for them myself, they won't allow steam anymore. They ended that in the early 2000s, and unless management changes their minds, we won't allow steam on the mainline unless it's ferry service or Amtrak
@elliotmock8391, how about donating to New Mexico Heritage Rail, so they can prepare for actual mainline excursions? The society is restoring the turntable at the old Santa Fe shops.
Well done my friend! That whistle sounds amazing!

Here's hoping that 2926 will get the chance to venture out of the Duke City one day. ^^
Great catches awesome chase and nice video

How you got this Godzilla back together is beyond me. No wonder it took two decades. Congratulations.
Hey there! I really appreciate you making another great video of 2926 and encouraging folks to support the organization in the description.

Terrific video. When oh when is this beast going to be paired up with #3751, #261or #4014?? What a sight that would be !!

@@ArkansasLocomotiveWorks I'm not wrong though, many would love to see 2926 do a doubleheader with 3751 one day when the stars align.
Wonder if 2926’s whistle sounds like 4449’s whistle?
If you’re referring to the 6 chime the 4449 used before 1981 then you are correct, sound wise.

The Santa Fe 6-chime does indeed sound very similar to the Southern Pacific 6-chime. I think they both have similar dimensions if not the same.
