Hi mate, i’m new to your channel. I’m new to detecting and I’ve been using a Fisher F22 over the last few months and now i’m ready to upgrade. I can’t decide between this and an Equinox. Could you recommend?
Hi buddy, welcome to the channel and thanks for subscribing. I’m afraid I’m not the best person to ask which one is better as I have never used a minelab machine. I can say the Deus is a fantastic machine and is much lighter than the Nox and more customisable. I guess it’s just down to preference but I do love my Deus so I won’t be changing anytime soon. Good luck on you’re purchase. Here to help if you do decide to get a Deus 👍👍
It’s because to upgrade you now have to connect to the XP cloud server (where the firmware is stored) whereas before you did it with XP downloader program. You’re computers firewall is probably blocking this so you will either have to disable the firewall while you do the upgrade or “allow the connection” if a pop up appears.
Probably a good move. Whoever programmed those new ones must have done it solely on a test bed. I do wish they did it from the 0.6 version silencer instead but that’s just being picky 😂
Took on the beach a few days ago with 1.0 update and the times sounded off, tried all the various town options, and still sounded, squirrely, soon as 1.1 update arrived I updated and yesterday Saturday 27th May back on same beach and tones sounding fine again, used beach sensitive as always and just a light ground chirp and like this as run all my programs open and hot, looking forward to testing on pasture.
It’s certainly more hot in pasture but that’s a good thing. So far it is far better then 1.10 but I’m still unsure if it’s as good as 0.6 but I guess time will tell buddy. Good luck out there 👍👍
I had exactly the same problems as you on v 1.0 plus a problem with mid range targets sounding awful too. You’ll notice on v1.1 the TIDs are being a bit strange on lead. It’s consistently jumpy. Not an issue as the audio is good. I’m using full tones on P3 so maybe General won’t behave the same.
I 100% have noticed this Catherine, lead for me now is no longer clean like it used to be. It’s a broken signal with a VDI much lower than before. I also noticed pewter buttons come in much lower as well. A dug a musket ball which came through nice and loud though. It might take abit of getting used to which we were all expecting with v1.0 but I’m so glad the iron ring out has been fixed. Keep me posted how you get on 👍👍
The machine is still falsing on iron! Same as 1.0! Try some tent spikes! They don’t have to be rusty either! The beach in the dry was loaded with them. I tested the machine on 6 different beaches today with the same result! TDI’s up 88 and the machine would loose the target as well. Now out of the hole a total grunt and a VDI between 4-8. You can’t tell me this is right! The ordinal .71 from the updater worked fine except the iron would make a really loud signal in your ear! I don’t want that sharp tone with a grunt and a false VDI ! Go try the beach programs on the beach!
The new v1.10 firmware is hotter that’s for sure but personally I haven’t noticed it falsing iron as much as 1.0 did. It might be possible that some people have different experiences again so bare that in mind. The TDIs now are different that’s for sure, it might just take a abit of getting used to. Keep me updated how you get on with it and thanks for commenting 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting you are not hunting in sand and salt water. Has nothing to do with experience as I have been doing this for 20 years and I am a electrical engineer that understands what makes this machine tick. The only way I could get the machine to stop faslseing on tent spikes was to turn then silencer up to 5! But the VDI was still 80-99 ! And if the tent spikes are deep in the wet forget about it. Not a single grunt just a TDI in the 80-99 range. Believe me no one wants to dig 3 scoops of compact wet sand at around 30 lbs a pull for a tent stake! All you can do is suck it up and dig it or pass it by for a better target!
@@OMA_MetalDetecting I took the Nox 800 out and it has the same problem with deep tent spikes. No tones and a false TDI. SO i guess we are screwed! Lol

Hi Michael, A couple of hammereds today. They gave a good clear signal on a modified beach/land programme I've used since the D2 came out. The majority of signals were as before with high numbers 'dig me' clear tone. I tried every setting combination on all programmes, but still ended up digging iron. Imho it's still not right by a mile. If it works for others, then great. I'll persevere and see what happens. 👍
Hey Glenn, thanks for letting me know how you got on buddy. It’s certainly different I’ll give you that but I have not had the issues with iron ring out on 1.1 like you described. I won’t teach you how to suck eggs as you sound like you know what you’re doing with it but maybe persist with it for abit and see if that makes any difference. Aside that, you could try reinstalling 1.1 over the top to see if it’s a corrupt download that’s causing it. ATB mate 👍👍

Hi I’m still running my Deus 2 on version 0,6 went on a rally and had a rubbish day all iron targets were clear loud and if it wasn’t for the ferris and non ferris i would have dug all iron targets as they sounded good but all non ferris targets were quiet and didn’t stand out, i had the Deus 1 before this and never had this problem. Any ideas to put me on the right path.
I’ve been on a dig this weekend with the new v1.1 with the 13” coil and I hate it! My detector has got noisey again, target id is very poor and depth isn’t there, I used the v1 update and a ploughed field and it was brilliant, like a brandnew machine, target ids were solid, I’m back out again with the v1 to see what I can find! Not sure if the v1.1 is more suited to the smaller coils 🤔
I haven’t tested it on a 13” coil however bare in mind the new firmware is allot hotter, background filters have changed and TDIs react different in my opinion. I guess that might be exaggerated with a larger coil. If trusting custom programs designed for 0.6 or 7.1 then non them and start again as too much has changed in these new version for them to be effective as before. Keep me posted on how you get on 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting I tried 1.1 again on my permission, dug up so much iron with it I went n back dated to v1, the 1.1 just doesn’t work especially with the 13” coil, they have changed all the sounds as well, I spent ages adjusting everything to get it not false on iron n it just didn’t work, as soon as I went back to v1 I found 2 hammereds pretty much straight away, didn’t dig any iron as it sorted itself out pretty quickly with the false signals! I’m staying with the v1 for now!
Wish I could try this update. Apparently, because I use Virgin media for my broadband, I can't update. My browser rejects the update page. E-mailed XP and after a few emails back and forth, their only solution is 'find a friend or neighbour and use their computer'. Not very satisfactory.
Hey buddy. Did you ever find a way around this update problem? There is a way you can do it with Virgin Media but it will mean acceding you’re router via a web browser with the “admin” details on the back of the router. Once you’re on. Go to fire wall and temporarily disable it. Do the download then re enable it afterwards. Hope that helps 👍👍
Not being negative but just like to add regarding when you say Xp have been quick to update, it’s been about a year since 0.71 update to 1.0 , I think Xp could not leave the falsing issue off 1.0 as way to much negativity around it and good for them fixing it quickly, yes I two own D1 and D2 and so love there machines, Nokta Macro have been very fast on software updates and customer service too and would like to own a Legend one day as a Bargain if a machine for what you get, thank you for this video as great to see your finding 😎😎😎😎
Yeah I kinda get that mate. I too was getting sick and tired of waiting so long for an update, 0.71 had some bugs but I guess the hype to get it fixed wasn’t as big as 1.0 so the pressure wasn’t there. How’re you finding 1.1 so far?
@@OMA_MetalDetecting Well had a few hours on beach yesterday but at a different part with 1.1 and did not anything good lol but the council have dug out tons of sand and relocated it to this part so it’s masking targets and will go back to low sand area next visit as all I found was ten ring pulls, but machine ran nicely, I turned the iron FE filter off and think that was a mistake so will turn back on a revisit said beech and also test on clad and non clad I found in beach a previous visit a few days ago with 1.0, Also looking forward to testing on clay pasture now ground is drying up with all this hot dry weather, from what I understand is this is more like 0.71 with added feature and that software worked really well for me with adjusted saved programs 😎😎😎
Well it is a matter of preference however I believe 1.10 is the best one so far. It’s very similar to 0.71 however you get allot more settings to play with and customise. You will also notice it is more “sparky” which is a good thing as my finds rate has exploded since running it. If you need any further help feel free to give me a shout but I say go and upgrade for sure 👍👍
I'm out on a dig tomorrow and hoping v1.1 works for me. New farm not been ploughed for some time apparently. I'll try General with my custom settings adjusting accordingly. I also have two custom beach/land programmes to try out. I think there were users who ONLY air tested v1.0 & 1.1.resulting in negative comments. I believe making adjustments in air show little affect to many of the settings. (I know, I tried it) compared to testing coins/ iron in the ground where I hope it will be different in a positive way. Roll on tomorrow.
I primarily detect in fresh water either wading or scuba diving and one of my locations is riddled with e small bits of iron v1.0 was nearly unusable . V1.1 seems to have fixed that I do notice I need to set the recovery on 2 or even 3 to get a clear signal when in iron when in the sensitive full tones.
I always run my reactivity fairly high, either 2.5 or 3 on really heavy iron spots. Nothing wrong with that at all buddy. If it works for you then it works. ATB 👍👍
Completely agree buddy. I’ve had the same results over here too. I’m actually liking it now as it seems more eager to want to find everything you go over which is welcomed improvement. Thanks for commenting 👍👍

They are certainly more hot then the previous versions bud that’s for sure. It will be a learning curve as you’re usual tweaks in the field might be slightly different but I would say the high conductors definitely punch through better so definitely worth persisting with 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting also i noticed today with a higher audio response it was bringing the very deep iron tones up to a very loud volume so when you get a good tone but there also a big iron tone you think its iron with the audi response at 4 i notice i still got the faint iron tone bellow but then it allows the good target to pop out it was liek i could see in 3d just with my sound vs the 2d effect of high audio response i also burried a hammerd coin at 10" to make sure with audio at 4 i wouldent miss it and it jumped out i only did all this testing due to the initial issues with iron think i have a fairly good setup now but i dont have to tinker as much with 1.0 i do run the 13x11 tho and i notice its mainly peole with teh 11" that were havinmg issues on 1.0 i also think a bad days detecting can knock you aswell if you had put 1.0 on and gone a smacked a gold noble im sure yo uwould of been buzzing haa any way lets see how others get on after all its just detecting and we all have bad days and its to easy to balme the software also liek you said confidance is key :)

Just program 1 general in this video buddy. I did modify it later on but I showed that on the footage. Currently happy with 1.1 so far, how’re you finding it?
Hmmm, this is worrying news. I do wonder if it has something to do with a corrupt download. I have mentioned this to XP but have not got a solid response yet. I guess the only legit way of testing this out is to put a “good” machine next to a “bad machine” running the same firmware. Food for thought. Thanks for commenting 👍👍
Are you finding it any better now? It’s a very different machine with the nee firmwares and I agree with you, you best allot more but I’m just glad it’s not sounding on iron anymore 👍👍
XP cares about customers, piss myself laughing... if that's the case how come there's never been an update for the orx.. even though people have cried out for one...
Falsing is not a Iron reading imitating a conductive reading, falsing is EMI ground concussion hitting a stem generaly to much sensitivity even from high mieralised ground . it was changed with the upgrade in as much as iron did ring out high numbers and the grunt or Iron noise we were used to was missing . Garry Blackwell XPS man recognised it and said some good targets were dificult to tell the difference between audio wise he made some adjusments and altered the audio but it seems that the VDI readings were high on iron and in the conductve range to the inexperienced and I count myself as such,12 years on he D1 one year on the Deus 2 . But the experience on the Deus 1 allowed me to overcome this what you could call a temporay failing ,Iike many others out there TWO WAY SIGNALS get into the habit sweep side to side top to bottom I watched the VDI 70s 80s 90s then 05 07 they were there all over the the place in amongst the highs and there was a audio difference not much but would have been ajustable ,the bang on sound of a decent conductive signal small FOOTPRINT coin was still there, the fix to fix is not much different, overall first impressions were good ,one mans meat is another mans gravy ..
Great comment Peter with some very valuable nuggets of information in there. I did wonder why even with the iron volume maxed out it still didn’t really react like it used to on say 0.6. I totally understand that moving around the target always gives it away. Just like his moving off the target with the D1 always showed you it was a big iron but, small nail pieces showing a high 80s on the VDI was too different for me and meant that too much time was being spent investigating where as on 0.6 you would walk over it. I’m still not totally convinced with 1.1 so far to be honest, it’s better but by no means perfect. I am doing my best to persist at the moment though. Thanks for commenting, love a good technical chat 👍👍
They didn’t. If anything it’s hotter than it’s ever been. It’s like having a new machine in terms of how it reacts. It’s punchy now which means you won’t miss those deep coins and artefacts etc. still a little jumpy on iron but it’s not falsing like it was in v1.0. I’m enjoying learning all its new features 👍

Supposedly all program built in filters where downgraded to .71 but the fast program has all the 1.0 filters
Sensitive FT has all the 1.0 filters. Fast has .71 filters.
Probably a good move. Whoever programmed those new ones must have done it solely on a test bed. I do wish they did it from the 0.6 version silencer instead but that’s just being picky 😂
Sensitive FT is a beast in iron.
Good luck out there 👍👍
Thank you Michael,
great vidéo, it was very interresting.
Thanks for sharing.
You’re more than welcome mate, thank you for commenting and watching as always. Plenty more to come so don’t be a stranger 👍👍
Keep me posted how you get on 👍👍
Very fair! You got a new sub!
Thanks man, really appreciate that. Keep that. Keep up the great work you do on you’re channel 👍👍
Lol
Well done Michael
Glad it’s sorted so far
Love your content , and appreciate allbthe effort you must put in
Keep up the good work

Ps when are you detecting that path to the sea you found? or have i missed that video? 😊
Thanks guy, really appreciate that 👍
So i went to sunken path a couple of weeks ago in hope of detecting it however it was in a carpet of bluebells and so overgrown in there. Might have to be later in the year that one I’m afraid but it will be done so stay tuned. ATB 👍👍

Excellent cheers Michael look forward to it
Hi Michael,
A couple of hammereds today.
ATB mate 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting Got a new perm, so out tomorrow on a small pasture field. Good opportunity for more testing. Last Sunday wheat stubble, tomorrow pasture, i'll keep you updated buddy.👍
Hey Matt, personally I think 0.6 is still the best around iron although 1.1 is very good at punching deep! What settings were you using?
@@OMA_MetalDetecting hi i was using sensitive , the iron signal were louder than the non ferris targets.
@@br4d101 thanks for letting me know buddy. Very interesting results with the 13” coil for sure 👍
I did find a work around. I had to create a hotspot from my mobile (utilising 4G) and tether it to my pc via usb cable.
@@OMA_MetalDetecting
Well had a few hours on beach yesterday but at a different part with 1.1 and did not anything good lol but the council have dug out tons of sand and relocated it to this part so it’s masking targets and will go back to low sand area next visit as all I found was ten ring pulls, but machine ran nicely, I turned the iron FE filter off and think that was a mistake so will turn back on a revisit said beech and also test on clad and non clad I found in beach a previous visit a few days ago with 1.0, Also looking forward to testing on clay pasture now ground is drying up with all this hot dry weather, from what I understand is this is more like 0.71 with added feature and that software worked really well for me with adjusted saved programs 😎😎😎
Hi MichaeI, my Deus 2 bought April 23 shows it is V0 71 do u think it will b better on V1.10 as Im not sure wot V0.71 is all about, Cheers
Good luck Glenn, I think you will like it but remember it’s still different however I think in a good way. Let me know how you get on buddy 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting
Will do. 🫡
ATB 👍👍
I think they fixed it and also made it a lot better. At least in ground here in Pennsylvania.
Completely agree buddy. I’ve had the same results over here too. I’m actually liking it now as it seems more eager to want to find everything you go over which is welcomed improvement. Thanks for commenting 👍👍
Good luck out there.
Sometime I truly believe it’s all about luck isn’t it. I mean you can do all the research in the world and still find nothing. Best just to get out and detect. Cheers buddy 👍👍
i dident have to many issues with v1.0 but on my test bench it was bad at unmasking i put v1.1 on and on my test bench its amazing but ive got back teh field i was on last week with v1.0 and 1.0 was amazing last week no much iron and 2 silver coins and a gold ring this weekend on 1.1 dug loads of iron all sounding sweet ..... i duno im still on the fence about the updates
They are certainly more hot then the previous versions bud that’s for sure. It will be a learning curve as you’re usual tweaks in the field might be slightly different but I would say the high conductors definitely punch through better so definitely worth persisting with 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting also i noticed today with a higher audio response it was bringing the very deep iron tones up to a very loud volume so when you get a good tone but there also a big iron tone you think its iron with the audi response at 4 i notice i still got the faint iron tone bellow but then it allows the good target to pop out it was liek i could see in 3d just with my sound vs the 2d effect of high audio response i also burried a hammerd coin at 10" to make sure with audio at 4 i wouldent miss it and it jumped out
i only did all this testing due to the initial issues with iron think i have a fairly good setup now but i dont have to tinker as much with 1.0 i do run the 13x11 tho and i notice its mainly peole with teh 11" that were havinmg issues on 1.0 i also think a bad days detecting can knock you aswell if you had put 1.0 on and gone a smacked a gold noble im sure yo uwould of been buzzing haa any way lets see how others get on after all its just detecting and we all have bad days and its to easy to balme the software also
liek you said confidance is key :)
As a beach hunter in the UK i am very happy with v1.0 We dont seem to have been affected unlike you land lovers😊
I don’t know why but I couldn’t help re read that in a pirate voice 😂
Lots of beach combers said they didn’t have issues with it and it seemed it only effected fields with heavy iron. Thanks for commenting 👍👍
Hi, what setting and programm did u use in this video?
Just program 1 general in this video buddy. I did modify it later on but I showed that on the footage. Currently happy with 1.1 so far, how’re you finding it?
@@OMA_MetalDetecting yes,i did,i want know just the best solution for understand when target is iron, best setting for it
I'm going back to 0.71 out today with 1.10 and dug many square nails that I swore were coins. High ID number and high pitch tone
Thanks for info.
No problem at all. I’m genuinely glad to help out where I can 👍👍
Mineral sounds and rarely quiet.
Are you finding it any better now? It’s a very different machine with the nee firmwares and I agree with you, you best allot more but I’m just glad it’s not sounding on iron anymore 👍👍
Thanks for vid.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍👍
Thaks
No problem at all, glad I can help out the community 👍👍
I just hope they didn't dumb it down to satisfy us, save grace.
They didn’t. If anything it’s hotter than it’s ever been. It’s like having a new machine in terms of how it reacts. It’s punchy now which means you won’t miss those deep coins and artefacts etc. still a little jumpy on iron but it’s not falsing like it was in v1.0. I’m enjoying learning all its new features 👍
nice video
Thanks Gene, glad you enjoyed it. ATB buddy 👍👍
Best settings for the deus 2 is 0.71 😂
I don’t think you’re far wrong Johnny. Infact my favourite so far has been 0.6 however v1.1 is very impressive it’s just very different 👍👍
