Exciting Update on the Everton Stadium (April 19, 2024)

Ben Williams, the Package Manager from Laing O'Rourke overseeing the pitch development, explained the ongoing process: "SEL Environmental has joined the project, and this is the initial phase of our work. They are currently trimming the top layer of the piling mat and installing necessary ducting on the sides of the pitch. This prepares the area for maintenance and other services like cabling for broadcasters, irrigation pipes, under-soil heating, and underground drainage."
Once the piling mat is removed, the layers needed for the pitch will be constructed. This begins with impermeable membranes, which act as a barrier for the upper-level construction.
Above the membranes, a hot air system will be installed to manage the under-soil heating. Beneath this system, a drainage setup will be established to store water for irrigation.
Next, heating pipes and a layer of gravel will be laid to provide a foundation for the lower and upper rootzone layers, as well as the grass.
Williams further explained, "Once we dig deeper, we'll reach the top layer of sand, which we want to keep separate from the rest of our system. We will place impermeable membranes and connect the under-soil heating pipes to the drainage system, ensuring its durability and preventing any potential damage that could be expensive to repair later on. Currently, our focus is on the initial stages of installing the necessary ducting and utilities."
Around July, SEL will return to the site to complete the installation of the root layers, drainage, and irrigation systems, gradually building up the necessary layers. The aim is to start planting grass seed in August.
After the seeding process is finished by early October, specialized machinery will be used to weave synthetic fibers into the grass roots, making them stronger and creating a long-lasting Desso surface.
These fibers, covering approximately 5% of the playing surface, form a hybrid system that interlocks with the growing grass, providing improved stability and longevity.

All seems to be about the dock ground nobody seems to be mentioning the road outside the dock ground if everton move ground and they leave that road as it is outside the dock ground its going to take hours getting to the match and the same getting to houses after the match plus the rail network won't be able to handle the crowds eg match people and people leaving work etc it's going to be chaos your going to have 30 thousand cars maybe more plus coaches etc decending there the congestion is going to be horrendous plus there is very limited parking outside or near the dock ground
