Just found out the hard way that they start leaking after a few years. Thanks for the videio.
Same.. had liquid randomly on my floor and traced it back to some cans.. it sucked to have to get rid of them.
when he was emptying the can i was like "squeeze it to make it come out faster" then i remembered the reason he's doing this to keep the can fresh
One time on vacation as a kid, my dad bought me a box of soda cans that you couldn't just buy anywhere. I was so happy that I kept them for special occasions. The less cans I had left, the more special the occasion had to be. I still have two cans left. They expired in '09 and amazingly one of the cans still holds the soda to this day.
The old cans actually hold out much better. I never had a leak issue before, until the Star Wars Episode 1 cans. Those were the first cans I had leaking, and every other cans I collect will eventually leak in 2-5 years. I also found out that cans that has been put in a fridge will leak faster than cans that has never been chilled.
What I've learned this week, on relation to cans:
1] How to make them bang when opening
2] How to open them really quietly because your wife
3] How to empty them without opening them
4] How to thumb gun a can
Ever since I watched that guy explain the genius design of soda cans I have been getting a lot of can videos
I used this trick when i was 15 To steal some beer from my dad best shit ever
Homebrew something that would ferment overtime and fill up the can with it so that when they crack the can it has beer in it (might taste a lot different though) and boom easy.
My train of thoughts watching this:
I don’t even collects cans why am I here…oh I didn’t know they emptied them…damn, that’s crazy, I own the same screwdriver set…
This is the best ASMR video I have seen so far. From the voice, the breathing, and then the can milking
The way this guy breaths makes me think that hes proffessional in cans
Indeed an Experienced Canologist with a degree in Canology studied and graduated with honours from C.U. (Can University)
LOL
I keep a total of 3 cans, for no reason, they aren’t special cans or something. Just like to store stuff away for a few years because why not, I still have one of those bean boozled boxes where the expiration date says “September 2016”
Yeah, pretty much that is how I started collecting cans.... randomly kept some cool looking ones, an then you find more, and keep more....
As a collector (started with SoBe when I was 6, moved on to aluminum cans later) I am so happy to have learned this trick. Now I don't have to worry about bugs making a home in my nice sugary residue filled aluminum houses I so graciously leave open for them. Thank you so much!
@MrHolyKindness you're telling me! I've had to move twice with my collection and at this point I just leave them packed up. And yeah, I have been doing this for a while. Some of my older bottles used to get mold build up, but Ive sprayed them down many times.
@MrHolyKindness fuck it that's a great idea! :D keep an eye out for that in the future. ;)
@MrHolyKindness it would be quite the lengthy boi, so idk if I'll be able to record it on UA-cam. I'll figure something out in a bit, so subscribe and follow my twitch to see. :D
@MrHolyKindness look, I make videos almost purely for my own amusement. If people don't like my content they can go watch someone else. I like to have a wide range of content, and I have soda reviews from years ago on there so it wouldn't be that out of the ordinary.
I don't collect cans and I don't know why this was recommended to me but it certainly was interesting.
Can’t believe I just watched how to empty a can for 7 minutes as if this was some groundbreaking discovery 😅
True story. Maybe it was his explanation of"this way we can save the sodas to enjoy"
My dad's friend had a collection of beer cans, I myself never understood the hobby but I respected his dedication, I personally am a video game collector
1:35 that "hole punching tool" is called an awl. Punching/enlarging holes is literally its designed function, but it has a name.
this is one of those things I wouldn't be able to tell you if you asked me, but as soon as I read it I remembered hearing about it before. Funny how that stuff works.
@@elijahbielefeldt-cada6639 i run into stuff like that all the time, I'll know what I'm trying to describe but not the name of it. Happens for me with people and names too. I just grew up working in the garage with my father though, and did a bunch of different trades work/study in my teens and early 20s. Pretty familiar with just about any kind of hand/power tool you'd find in a normal garage or woodshop, and then some. Now I'm fascinated when i discover a tool I've never seen or used before, i immediately want to know what it's for and how its designed to be used. It's handy to know the proper name and function of basic tools, i think it's something everyone should be taught in school as a self-sufficiency skill. They're taking woodshop out of a lot of school systems, it's not as common as it used to be. It's unfortunate
Technically a firearm is a "hole punching tool" too. Can I call my pistol an awl? 🤣😬
@@DeliciousVicious777 i mean my fist or a stick or a bowling ball or a car or whatever is a "hole punching tool" depending on how you use the object and how specific or vague you decide that description is. No, you can't technically call your pistol an awl, unless you like being incorrect and looking silly.
What!? People actually collect cans? No downtalking, just amazed.
Never thought I'd be learning about can collecting, but thanks for sharing!
What I used to do as a kid was pop it just _barely_ like just enough that you hear the pftz but not so hard that you feel the lid tear. I'd just carefully suck the contents out after that.
@@Ehatntmtntahe i got this video recommended to me literally the day after I did what this comment says 🤨
I don't collect soda cans but got recommended this and then I filled a sandwich baggy with water and stabbed it with skewers and it was fun so thank you
omg this video is recommended right on time, I got a full Star wars beverage can standing here in my room for over 2 years because i like the can. Good to know I should empty it this way before it starts making a mess of my electronics.
Very informative I’ve actually wondered how collectors do that for a while now
I never even knew people collect cans but thanks! I'll prank people with this
Dude, people collect anything that exists. One thing you might not have heard of, collecting used diapers.
@@hollanderson that’s not a collection. How long before they have to be thrown out? Or do people eat them?
@@PTEC Look it up. There are literally documented groups who do this shit. I've heard one guy goes though his neighbors trash and collects the "best smelling" ones and keeps them. It might be sick behavior, but still definitely considered a collection.
@@hollanderson if you’re talking about the guy I think you’re talking about that most definitely isn’t a collection but a fetish item for him

Would have enjoyed getting recommended this by UA-cam BEFORE my soda spilled all over some boxes.
I would of thought something like that would take decades. What happens, do holes start forming at the bottom or what?
@@kushy419 On god I get recommended things I only THINK ABOUT,SHIT I NEVER SAY OUT LOUD. I'll be thinking in my head "you know what, macdonalds sounds good right now" and BOOM, out of nowhere there's a mikky d's ad on my phone.
The joy of working at a can manufacturing plant is that these designs come and go and you dont give a crap
It really helped how he instructed us to place the cup in the sink
Feel I just watched someone milk a soda can.
Pepsi did me a solid when they packed a completely empty yet sealed can in a 12 pack I bought months ago.
@@SacredDaturana it was your time to shine and you didn't disappoint.
I thought I was the only one collecting classic and limited soda cans and bottles. Now I know Im not the only weirdo lol. Thanks for the tip now I can drink the soda and keep my cans 10x lighter. Never thought to hide the hole under the tab.
I just watched the whole video… and I still do not know why I watched it. Simply couldn’t resist 😂
It sounds like pissing in a plastic bottle on the road because the nearest bathroom is 20 miles away, and you didn't go at the gas station
this video scared me for one reason... he has the same exact counter tops and sink as me. i thought this was in my house because i have a slovanian friend that looks and sounds like him😅😅
@@yukia.8188 funny enough, that’s one of my jobs🤣 well if this guy is making youtube videos in my house, im making him pay rent once i catch him
This makes me want to collect cans. This was on my recommend, thank you.
This is very useful because my can collection was getting too heavy
That would make a good April Fools joke as well.
That’s all I was thinking
Like putting something that would be disgusting to drink if it wasn’t what you were expecting
Like orange juice
I don’t collect cans, but I feel like this is a great way to pull a prank on someone.
they are a good asset if you hold them for a long time, since they make limited edition sometimes, and if you have an original can it can be worth thousands of dollars, just check out how much is an original NES with all it's cables and controller right now
Stupid question. Why not poke a second hole to allow it to drain easier instead of drinking a flat soda later?
It won’t matter if the holes are both on the same side of the can, it would be exactly the same
@@Kodaiva one would eventually pull air while the other continues to spill liquid. Try it out.
Never knew people collected cans, but this is awesome!!
i do i hole in the bottom like you said, 2 in fact, one in the middle and one on the side, but still on the bottom, for air to come in to empty it faster, ok its not as hidden but well i store them on a shelf so idc of the bottom, but still, your hidea is cool too
I just wanna say, As someone who'se been to many a flea market and independent thrift store with metric crap tonnes of 30-50 year old vintage cola bottles with the soda still in it: thank you for preserving your cans in a way that isn't insanely gross or dangerous.
and also thanks for the new party prank
Never thought about collecting cans but this is awesome
I am neither a can collector nor a can drinker yet I watched through the entire thing. Interesting work
So I have a can themed after a game franchise that I got from my friend as a gift a while back, and I haven't dared to open it and I've decided to keep it on a shelf to display. This video just saved my life from having a ruined can, and ruined everything else on the shelf. Thank you kind sir, and thank you for the physics lesson that I shouldn't have needed lmao.
When you have can collections, would people actually buy them like for e.g if you had a can in 2021 and in 20 years you reckon it'll have value
Probably not because these are mass produced to hell. Maybe the limited edition stuff might but even then not much I reckon
@@jonathanthomasjohn8348 yeah they’re massed produced but how many people do you think are saving their soda cans
thank u for these elite soda collection tip
These guys actually using physics to their advantage just to collect cans. Good job. 👍
i have a beer can thats 30 years old i kept and it has so much pressure built inside that year after year i keep thinking this thing is going to explode like a grenade one day. but after keeping it sealed for 30 years i just leave it lol
side story when i was young my dad said he left his beer can collection at my moms house. i found it in the basement. found 3 really old molson mini fat beer bottles. i called over 2 friends and we took turns drinking one. once all the beer was gone we noticed at the bottom was some mold type stuff stuck to the bottom. we all thought we were going to either die, or get super powers. suprisingly nothing happened.
I've never collected any soda cans and got it recomended for no reason
@@criptik5208 satisfaction 🤷♀️ i have a collection of kpop albums. Aesthetic to me
I never knew how much I needed this video in my life. I don’t think I will start a collection lol but great video. Learning how to empty cans 😂
when I was a kid, I had this technique where I would use the normal opener very, very slowly and it would create a little hole that wouldn't be noticeable but just enough to actually manage to drink water. I loved drinking the cans and then putting them back in the fridge to fool my sister haha
Cool idea, would rinse residue so as to not attract bugs & mould. Thanks for tips👍
This is a very cool method of getting the liquid out
Thank you so much for this! I wanted to collect some cans and found out one day they were all molded, thankfully I was able to restore them! I wanted to avoid that with my other cans so thank you!!
This is actually a good lesson on ideal gas law. Good way to learn basic chem pressure physics.
"Then what you do is you run"
That pause had me dead😂😂

That's actually a good experiment with the relationship of temperature and air. This man is right, as temp increases, air expands and (only in a container) creates more pressure on the sides.
In the air however, hot air creates low pressure since it expands out and up.
Impressive alternative to open a can of soda. Never cross my mind, but again I am not a can collector. Cheers!!
Idk how UA-cam knew, but I rally needed this!
“How to have your can and drink it too.”
Nice now I can start my Soda Can collection that I never wanted to do
Thanks a lot man! Worked like a charm! Cheers!
I’ve never thought of collecting cans in my life, it’s 11pm, I have an exam tomorrow morning, but here I am. Thanks UA-cam.
The soda leaks through the bag in the can thats why they leak
The best content on UA-cam is niche hobby videos. I'll never collect a can, but the fact that I could if I wanted to is enough.
This was an exact reenactment of what I go through after three cups of coffee.
I literally have a one can collection, and this Jurrasic Park Dr. Pepper is it. Fate brought me to you, good sir
This will go perfectly with the Halo Rockstar cans. Thank you very much
putting hot water over it, heating it up, and expanding the trapped gases so that the expanded gases pushes the rest of the liquid out.
that's big brain
Thank you Madnug for teaching me something new and interesting.
This guy simplified physics in a way I could understand...while drinking a soda ^^
Don't know why this was recommended but at least i learned something just in case I need it one day. Thanks!
I love how everyone has been here recently
Just came across this video on my home page. And I never knew collecting cans was a thing. Although I'm pretty sure my dad collected bottle caps. Now I'm very interested in this subject. I'm gonna sub for more content 🌟

2019 was such a better time
If you punch a second hole at the other side of the tab, you could stop it going flat and protect the can from deforming.
Suggestion; When punching the hole, do it with the can upside down. This way you do not lose a substantial amount of air which will be very useful to push out the soda.
There is going to be air inside the soda regardless.. do you mean pressure from the carbonization?
@@johngallagher9151 Yes, the air inside is pressurized. So once you let it out, there's less air.
Or even easier he could have used an automatic center punch tool but with the tip of that tool sharpened so it would be a one handed punch when upside down but pre heating the can under some hot water
was not disappointed. title was exactly what was mentioned.
Back when I was a kid, i sometimes drank my coke like you emptied it. Me and my friends called the method coffee-machining, we drank it from mugs too ofc.
