I can only imagine what Morrissey was saying backstage, or at least when this was over. He was, and still is, very critical of pop music from the beginning of his music career.
Well said :) I wish this type of tone as seen in this video were more prevalent today on TV. It does carry a certain type of charm and elegance; that I think would just be wonderful too if this were common in society as well. Personalities that are oh so just serene and kind :)
I think they often picked questions to suit the panel, which they had researched. Plus the lyric is pretty familiar if you’ve heard more than 4 records.
Even funnier that Phil Lynott got the Queen song since his band, Thin Lizzy, toured with Queen 7 years prior to that tv show although I don’t think Seven Seas of Rhye was played on that 1977 Queen/Thin Lizzy tour although it was played on Queen’s previous tour.
@@gazriley624 it's a softball question for Morrissey. All of the other acts were pop or r&b that he wouldn't have gotten. All of his questions were made just for him. Echo and Nancy Sinatra.

I was terrified of Nick Beggs as a kid, that beaded hair in Kajagoogoo and the way he swung his hair round, and realised today that yes he is terrifying. Almost colourless.
Morrissey only agreed to be on the show because he heard Wilde would be there. He felt very cheated when he realised it was Kim and not Oscar.
