I wish the growing season is longer in my area. A lot of fig varieties won’t even have a chance to ripen on the tree.

My CdD Gris has been drastically more vigorous and more winter hardy that my three Blanc trees.
LOL I disagree that the average person would have no problem finding some of these! Had to get on a waiting list for Black Madeira. Never even heard of the Argentile one before this.

Do I have to up pot my plants from 1 gallon to 5 then 10 or can I go straight to the 15 gallon from the 1 gallon.
If it's well rooted, you can.
You also want a well draining soil. Don't overwater it.
@RossRaddi Hi Ross! 2 questions: You talk about the prosciutto variety. Is this the same as that known as unk prosciutto? And several people including Evan Durtchi (SP?) have suggested Calderona and Bass's Favorite Fig are indistinguishable, or maybe the same. Your thoughts??
Yeah. The unk is rarely a necessary part of the name.
I haven't compared them yet.
How do you compare “Black Celeste” to “Black Madeira” ?
Hi Ross this is my first year growing figs I’m learning a lot from you I’m in zone 6a I stored my in containers fig in my basement but yesterday I found out they woke up what can I do now there in the dark thank you
Put it/them outside at night just as long as it doesn’t drop below 32 degrees and as long as it’s lignified let a soft frost hit it a couple times. This always works for me.
Do you have a garage? Mine isn’t well insulated (in zone 6a) and I haven’t had any issues with the trees being damaged by the cold.
@@youngbuck5009 I have a garage but the garage door doesn’t close and they sprouted now do you think it is ok to move them to the garage with the door open thank you
@@thegooch7206 my mistake was I put them in the basement before they completely dormant my mistake the are awake now we are still in the beginning of winter I don’t know what to do thank you
@@lindaberri593if the garage is attached to the home, put it on a wall that borders the interior. Also, some combination of tarps/blankets is beneficial to contain some heat and keep the wind off of them.
