most people don't know how important your mission is out there !! not just protecting the carrier... but all the ships out there !! thank you for all you do from a former tin can OS2 !!!
Having been associated with the E-2 Program for my thirty-seven year career at Grumman Aerospace, it's nice to see the E-2 "Hummer" proudly serving our US Navy Warfighters, great Video!
Nice! I remember the Bear Aces from July 1996 when they made a port visit to Dublin Bay as part of CAW 8 on USS JFK. Got one of their pilots to autograph a photo of an F14B going vertical with six Phoenix.
It is the trim. The Hawkeye's unique design and proportions make it especially prone to pronounced control couplings, and as a result it requires an unusually high amount of control input, especially in the dynamic carrier landing environment. In cruise flight, it can be trimmed like any other aircraft.
Hey Joe- Your FB book mate here, stingmcb, aka Gary McBride. This was my squadron "back in the day". An old friend and Plank Owner, Skip Wilbur sent it to me. I joined them after their first cruise, I think the hole in the sound track is intentional? Maybe not. I thought it was pretty original. My time in 124 was probably the most enjoyable and satisfying time of my life. Sure the airlines were great but the boat was better. Good to see that YOU are all over the place checking out videos. I'll hoist a cold one to the down under Fire Fighters!! BTW, to any E-2 pilots out there: bagged 36 night traps on my last CQ trip to the Lexington while in the RAG. Six for me to requal myself, then five studs to follow. Anybody top that?
He didn't, the RPM of the engines just coincided with the fps of the camera. Them standing still is just an illusion, but it looks very interesting. :)
Its mostly old tech so probably not a lot to be learned. The CCP probably had and have eyes aboard most any place in the navy... and you know for sure they are liberal affiliated.
Hey i am aslo an AE and just got orders to 124, considering we work on the same plane, do u know how often we deploy, or in general how is it working on them?

Was this at Vaw-126 Sir.
바다 한가운데서.. 저런 비행기들이 이착륙한다는게 신기하다. ㄷ ㄷ
Can someone please tell me what that is on the yoke? Is that the trim? Why is it never in trim?

Hey Gary....I'd love to get an intact copy of this for my cruise vid collection.
Btw thanks for sharing such a cool video. I thought the music was fine 👍
Why did the engines turn off 1:59
He didn't, the RPM of the engines just coincided with the fps of the camera. Them standing still is just an illusion, but it looks very interesting. :)
The engine WAS shut down, as part of a function check flight to verify the proper performance of shutdown and airstart mechanisms.
@@a.j.n3117 ok thanks for telling but do you guys do this regularly because i never seen this before
@@alofn9020 These checks are performed after major components of the prop or engine are repaired or replaced, not on a regular basis.
Yep, watched the prop feather and asleep she went. One hell of an aircraft. Hawkeyes forever
I am surprised this was allowed to be filmed and aired due to security reasons. wouldn't have happened when i was attached to the squadron.

So...what secrets were given away here? Just askin for a friend, ya know?
Nah, no video inside of the sensor gear- harmless, unless the CCP turbo prob technology is not up to speed, ha, ha
Go NAVY !!!!!!
