This was indeed, BARBARA MANDRELL's Home. Her husband Ken designed Log Homes and had this home Custom for their family. The Bathtub in the Master bath was designed to fit Barbara's back and body. Very custom. The three Bears out front represent her three children, Matt, Jamie, and Nathaniel. Ken was also a Helicopter Pilot and he had a helipad out back. The home also had an Ice Cream Parlor and open area for entertaining. There is, or was a Swimming Pool and Hot Tub in the solarium. The garage with the tall door was for the Tour Bus. Beautiful place, it would be a shame to see it bulldozed. The Secluded spot was for Barbara's privacy. She really was a Superstar after her TV Show in the 1980's. Yes, I am a huge Fan, LOVED her Music !

This house was amazing when it was built. I remember seeing a special on this place when Barbra lived there. She designed a lot of it with most awesome custom features. I remember thinking that i could live in her bathroom alone. She gave a tour of her home. There is a movie theater inside , a helipad and a room for literally anything you can imagine. There was a pool inside where all that glass was. All the shelving and cabinetry was inset so the whole place was sleek and gorgeous. She had great ideas, this house had the most amazing features.

I've never been a fan of log homes....too much wood. For some reason this place fascinates me. I remember Barbra Mandrell being so excited about the new home and sharing her decor with fans. It's so disheartening to see the disrepair and lack of interest. I think her family lived there only fourteen or so years. That's a short amount of time in comparison to the money, design and love that was put into it! I truly hope it isn't demolished...that would be wasteful. It's a beautiful place that needs love once again.

It is a shame, but you can bet the people who bought it, to them it's only a drop in the bucket !!! They bought it only for the land, and are trying to buy all the land they can in the USA.....they don't care if it rots down.....they could have opened it up and made cabins, etc like Dolly did and people would have gone for vacation to check it out, they could have made a lot of money but it would have probably been junk change to them.....anyone who could have afforded to buy this .....money is of no problem.....sure you have heard about people trying to buy up all the land in the U. S......well I'd say it's happening.....
Calif. should take some of that money they made on this sale and found the homeless people living area in Calif instead of them having to live on the streets which is pathetic .....why are these same people being voted in every year??? What are they doing to help their beautiful City & take care of the homeless who can't help themselves..... build them their own area and get them off the streets not fair to the Citizens who live there and have to walk those sidewalks to work and have to pass this mess on the street.... why don't they clean it up.....what a disgrace....for this city & any other city that puts up with this ....no wonder people are leaving Calif.....I just can't believe people living there vote for this.....something is just not right !!!

@@TheKentuckylady717Some of us didn't vote on it . They let the Cartels in ( probably do business w/..) and helped create a bigger drug problem and they skim the money that's supposed to help the Homeless people. San Diego helped illegal people before they'd help Veterans and citizens on their own streets. I am Not blaming the people who came there, but those who don't care enough to secure the borders of the U.S. We are all Sitting Ducks now....And if I could,I'd go see that movie about the children being saved from the pedos and cartels and other traffickers... The Sound of Freedom was the name I think? I am having a blank brain at this moment.. Sorry, stressed out.. You can look it up. All the negative reviews about it are probably from people in power Not wanting to get caught or having a peripheral connection to all that bad stuff...

You *should* be _'blaming the people who came there'_ along with the socialist elite and their ''useful idiot'' constituency AKA Demonrat Party. This particular influx of illegal migrants to which you refer is comprised largely of the dumb and ignorant who've, behind their chosen leadership, shown themselves to be incapable of creating and nurturing a decent society back in their respective homelands so they come to this nation bringing with them their borderline savage ways, a brand of barbarism and ''culture'' that in the end will only prove destructive here as well. And another thing , will you all _stop_ paying tribute to the *BUMS* ..these truly despicable creatures must be dealt with but not in the manner most often suggested by the naive@@lorenheard2561

State and national level. I know for a fact that they cheated to get the governor we have in right now because he was not close to winning at all and then all of a sudden his counts skyrocketed in the middle of the night ( that seems to be their pattern even on the national level). He's hated by everyone except a small group of extreme left leaning and folks that are not really paying attention to what's really going on. God help America!!!

HGTV did a full interview and Barbara gave them a tour of her state of the art (at the time) log mansion. It even includes an interview with her husband Ken who served as designer/builder. The swimming area looks much more impressive in the HGTV show.. the elevator was installed much later. The centerpiece that you thought was a stage actually housed a statue. The "Great Room" (library) is phenomenal. Great video you captured of more current times.

Thank you so much for sharing the link. Houses hold stories unknown, and I'm always left wondering what the stories are on these abandoned houses. I'm always left with unanswered questions. Who lived there? What did they do in the house? What circumstances led to them just leave the way so many did... Leaving things behind, especially personal items, clothes, children's toys, cars, pictures, documents. I usually feel a bit melancholy after watching. The fact that there's footage of this one in it's prime with the actual family moving about...living life... Amazing! Really makes you realize this was more than just a house or, later, a venue... This place was a HOME with people...a FAMILY doing normal (and in rich folks' cases, lol, not so "normal") things. Still makes me feel a bit sad that such a wonderful place has just been abandoned like this, but at least I have a few less questions...

I was actually able to take a tour of it in 2014 and Barbara’s daughter Jaime was there. She was in charge of keeping it up as far as fans being able to tour it. All of her awards and outfits from her concerts were on display. She even called her mother and let me talk to her. I’m sure Barbara would be so disappointed to see it in this shape. Yes, there is a pool under that stage. I have a friend who was a tour guide there, and we have even written songs together there. It’s super cool. They closed the whole property, which also includes a restaurant and other shops down by the road. There is a Southern Living home by the road also that was converted into a BNB. I am not sure if it is closed or not. I used to host a songwriter stage at the cafe for a couple of years. There was also a huge amphitheater on the property that has already been removed.

Hi there, Big Bankz Just think of all the homeless veterans who serve our country could use a place like this for them and their families. I'm a very proud Army Ranger mom and I sure wouldn't want my son trying to survive as a homeless vet, it really upsets me so much that they would loud illegal immigrants into our country and set them up with everything they need while are soldiers and veterans have to sleep where ever. This mansion could house so many veterans and their families.

I can't believe it's the voters voting to keep people like this in there City.....they should remember this when they go to the polls.....makes me want to cry..... and some of these people are Vets too.....and they went to war and fought for us and this is the thanks they get.....something is definitely wrong in this City.....

Touring this property was a religious experience. It was unlike anything I had felt before. They had just opened the home for tours. Steve was doing the tours, and his boyfriend happened to be hanging out there with him that day....sitting patiently by the brick fireplace in the Great Room, waiting for our tour to wrap up. Very sad to think it might be torn down, but considering the huge yearly utility and maintenance costs, it is understandable. The logs will make for some beautiful, smaller log cabin homes elsewhere in the future.

I never saw this place when Barbara lived here, but I spent many nights in the driveway, and a few times in the pool room and kitchen after she sold it. I remember as a chauffuer, I drove Gretchen Wilson and her daughter to this house in the late 2000s when her daughter was baptized in the pool. If I'm not mistaken, that is when John Rich owned the place. I've stared at those bears for hours in the driveway and watched UA-cam videos of Barbara. The three bears definitely were representations of her children, and if I remember correctly, they were throughout the house.
