Funny story about this video, this was the first time I heard the future heads it was on Chanel 4... Tried to fined them case didn't get the nam. About a year later near Christmas I thought I'm going to check Chanel 4 and their they wer lol.... Been a fan ever since! Love this version thank you.
I saw this on TV with my mates, when I lived in UK as a kid and have been searching for this version for so long! Reminds me of being young and reckless!
The harmonies absolutely make this song. It's actually sick how complicated it is when you slow it down and realise who's singing when and how it changes throughout the song and them all coming together singing different bits for the final chorus. True masterpiece.
I know people like them, but I think the did not do a „good“ job on this song. Sure you can have your go at a Kate Bush number, but this version starts off with this „Woa oh“ - and you‘re not sure, what the purpose of this cover is. Is it a pastiche, an hommage, just a bit of fun? I think this version lacks a real creative direction - as a spontaneous jam it might be fine, but for me this is too fast, too busy. I think the backing vocals don‘t work out quite as they might have been intended too. now I know that people just like anything that sounds Indie and honestly it‘s not my cuppa tea - but I think their original songs are way better than this cover. I know people here think the vocal arrangement is complicated and thus needs to be applauded - but complicated itself doesn‘t make it good (and it‘s not that complicated really - it might just be unsual in the realm of Indie music).
I occasionally forget just how good this band were. Absolutely exceptional.
