My parents took us to the Greek islands almost every year growing up and I must of tried every restaurants saganaki 😂 I still love it to this day ❤️🇬🇷
I just got back from crete and had this cheese out there ,it was stunning and I'm going to try this thanks for posting
My Yiayia made this every year for Christmas. Her recipe is a bit different, but how many Yiayias have the same recipe!!?!
Ευχαριστώ!
Saganaki is so good. At a restaurant I went to they put alchohol on it then light it on fire and put the fire out by squeezing a lemon on it
Thank you so much I have been searching for this recipe for so long!
It’s so easy you won’t have a problem making it!
This looks delicious! I once had it in Greece with a little bit of honey and crushed pistachios on top. I will never forget! YUMM
Mmmm my absolute favorite dish
So happy to find you through my Crete Recipes on FB
Did you see my Mitzithropita recipe?
OK, had a totally different meal planned and now I MUST COOK THIS TONIGHT! God, I wish I had some pistachios for this...
Did you end up making it !! How was it ?
Yes I did and it exceeded my flavor expectations by far. I even made a trip to the store to make sure I had lemon. Totally worth it.
@@VideoSnooperthanks a lot for showing us how to make saganaki.I'll make it right now for the breakfast.Best greetings from Kosova
Nice chef
Thank you
Is it any good??
Delicious
What cheeses can you use? I heard feta... The other 2?
Kefalotiri , Kefalograviera, Feta - any cheese without low melting point
Is this haloumi cheese?
No it is called Krfalotiri a cheese made from sheep’s milk. No where near as salty as Haloumi.
Can you deep-fry the cheese? Secondly, in your recipe can you use a spoon to scoop oil on top of the cheese to help it brown faster?
Wouldn’t deep fry this personally as it melts quickly - scooping oil over it could help with process.
Thank you for the alcohol free saganaki
SOLD! I am in!....can;i wait to try this recipe...THANK YOU!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Had this recently in central Macedonia the best cheese I’ve ever had!
Very nice ! Thank you. Are you from Greece ?
Thanks - born in Australia to Greek parents.
Do you ever use haloumi?
I do but don’t flour it - I love haloumi with olive oil and lemon juice !! Great starter for a meal.
haloumi is haloumi not saganaki.
Saemolina flour not plain wheat flour
Why would you disrespect that cheese by not setting it on fire 😲
Ok I will redo with flame just for you😊
What..no oopah?
I just redid one with the Opa! Check my other video.
The food of the gods
You should have made it flaming!
I do that in another video with some brandy ;)
The cheese isn't even touching the pan... you're essentially boiling/steaming it instead of frying
where is the feta video !!
Just for you here it is:

No OPA? You need to flambe it with brandy!
Jim Bo that’s an Americanized thing.. They don’t even really do that in Greece.
I like putting some honey on top of mine
Yes we do that too - sweet and savoury really nice.
Wtf did he say??
poor food with only cheese and flour
But really tasty!
