    3 possibilities :
    The active fund doesn't beat index frequently -> The investor starts thinking why he's even holding that fund.
    The active fund ends up beating the index frequently -> The investor starts thinking why he should even have index funds.
    There are alternate cycles where each outperform (rare) -> Best case, but investor would start thinking of inter-equity rebalance.
    In all 3 it would have been better to hold only one of the two categories.

    Also going with the same strategy but my only reason is fund I have chosen is consistently lower draw down then index and very low volatility and comparison its better risky adjusted return

    I invest in both N50 and NN50. Given current valuations, and considering the high volatility I also invest in low volatility, value oriented active fund with some amount of downside protection.
    There is also another problem. I don't want any one fund to have more than 20% of my entire net worth.

    You could buy an iphone (since you are using a mac) or other phone with great camera for recording your video as it will be more pleasing than seeing a computer screen. It's just a suggestion.

    How about below approach ?
    For core portfolio, choose LC Index fund as the AUM is large and constituents same in LC active funds. Benefit on Expense ratio.
    For satellite portfolio, chose good active fund from identified category.

    I have done 25% of 4 funds for retirement portfolio. N50, NN50, BAF ,HybEq. Last 2 are for downside protection. Aft 10 years of performance analysis will be cut down to 2. Hows this idea?

    Pattu sir , I have invested 33% in nifty 50, 33% next 50 and 33% in nasdaq 100. Observing the Nav’s and its movement resembles Parag Parikh flexicap fund. Have you done any analysis?

    Hello sir, I get your point that you don't want to alter your active find portfolio at this stage. But what I didn't understand is why you don't want to start a new index fund now. How is that going to create any problem? Can you pls explain?

    Hi Sir, I would love to here your views about the principle of Coffee Can Investing. Does the concept resonate with low risk high return investment strategy? Would really appreciate your analysis on the same. Thank you.

    • @pattufreefincal
      @pattufreefincal  3 роки тому +1

      coffee can investing is not practical IMO. The stock picking strategy is fine but not the idea of buying and holding.

    • @AK-jb9ij
      @AK-jb9ij 3 роки тому +1

      @@pattufreefincal thank you for the answer Sir. IMO, CCI is optimization of nifty index fund, in the sense, the 10/12 large cap businesses stocks picked (part of nifty 50) are fundamentally better than the rest of nifty 50(ignoring the mid and small cap companies in the coffee can portfolio). With my very limited knowledge, I tried to calculate the last 10 year returns on those 12 shares vs index returns, I find that they significantly outperform index to the tune of 4/5%. I believe it would be an interesting analysis, and there is no one better that you that I know who can mathematically analysis this. Please do consider analysing this when time permits Sir. A humble fan. Thank you.

      33% nifty , 33% nifty next 50 and nasdaq 33%. Simple choice which does not need to be tracked could beat Parag Parikh flexicap fund. Rebalance yearly.
