- In this video I will demonstrate how to edit with layers with Pixelmator Pro.
We will cover all the essential topics adjusting layer properties, creating layer masks, and how Pixelmator layers differs from Affinity Photo.
You have a really engrossing way of delivering your lectures. Well done and thanks, too, for this one. More, more.
Very kind of you thanks!
This was the single best description of how a mask works that I've ever seen. Thanks so much!
Wow, thank you!
I will be trying to follow and try first thing in morning!
hope it goes well

Thank you.
You're welcome!
Did the recent release not include adjustment and effects layers
yes that's correct. I made the video before I updated. Will discuss that in a future video.
You did something at exactly 6:15 that changed things, but it isn't clear what it was. Your layers section suddenly looked different and the selection tool was no longer highlighted. What was it that you did? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but I'm trying to understand working with layers and I need to know every detail, every keyboard entry or mouse click. Thanks.
Yes I removed the mask to make it clearer to make one from scratch. Basically the steps are (1) select the area (2) right click the layer then "add mask" after that the mask will be added in as shown
When you have finished do you have a merger the layers to save it or export it.
There is no need to merge it. Just go straight to export.
Now Pixelmator Pro is supporting adjustment layers
Yes when I made the video Pixelmator just released adjustment layers. Here is my video on Pixelmator adjustment layers it ua-cam.com/video/SGf_fbDbZcw/v-deo.html
