      @@PixelmatorVideos currently there are two mask types that can be selected, a regular Mask and a Clipping Mask. Would be nice to also have a Luminosity Mask with a slider to control the amount of luminance in the mask

    Nice video but when is the 3D stuff coming?
    like 3D text for example and for the rest thanks for every video always clear explanation

    • @PixelmatorVideos
      @PixelmatorVideos  2 роки тому

      Pixelmator Pro isn't a 3D app, so a dedicated 3D text feature is unlikely but you can create a 3D-type effect using the existing tools. We'll keep the idea in mind! By the way, the technique for this would be similar to the one used here: www.pixelmator.com/tutorials/resources/how-to-create-a-retro-text-effect/

    Hello, thanks a lot for this tutorial. I have a question. In 4:24 Creating masks from images, the image comes from a standalone png file. I'd like to convert an image layer in the same pxd file to a mask for another image layer. Can Pixelmator do it?

    • @PixelmatorVideos
      @PixelmatorVideos  Рік тому +1

      Hi, glad you enjoyed the tutorial (albeit a little outdated one)! In the latest Pixelmator Pro version, to create a mask from another image layer, you'd simply have to Command-drag that layer over the layer you want to mask.

    Thank you for the useful tutorial. I still have a knot in my brain though, trying to do the following:
    I have seen a (Photoshop ...) tutorial where somebody creates several thumbnail drawings on a single page, all with clipping masks. And more so, he seems to have created a clipping mask for each "layer" of each thumbnail - which enables him to re-color the entire layer from grayscale to a color of his choice. I have been spending the whole afternoon trying to imitate this in Pixelmator Pro - but don't get it. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

      Not at this time, though you might be able to recreate the functionality using the Channel Mixer adjustment

    I worked a lot with Adobe Freehand, and this last 10 years with iDraw (Graphics) and this is the kind of interface that is universal and we can be realy productive. The problem is when developers think they have a better ideia about interface....PixelMator is OK, but the interface is even worst and more unfriendly than Affinity Designer or Photo. I will go back to Affinity. (i don´t use adobe products anymore).

      Hey there, is there anything, in particular, you don't enjoy about how Pixelmator Pro is set up? This video is already a bit outdated and a lot has changed since it was first released. For instance, we've completely redesigned the layers sidebar and added templates, to make creating images even easier. So, if you haven't had the chance to try out Pixelmator Pro lately, it might be worth giving it another try.

      Yes I have the latest version runing in a Mac Studio,. I use it only for some photo retouch. The text features are great but when I need to change a simple parameter of a plygon or shape or text, I need to execute 4x more clicks than Affinity designer.....If I need to edit an object:
      1. first select the object,
      2.than click on the tool I have used to create it,
      3. and THEN i can change it´s parameters.......rsrsrsrs....
      4. and another click to go out of that tool.....
      Four clicks for what normaly is done by selecting the object and change its visible parameters
