  • Hey guys, just a short update video of some additional and planned modifications and upgrades I have done to my CZ Trojan as listed below..
Now using the 18x12 three blade Flightline 1600mm Corsair prop with the stock 500kv motor.
    Hobbywing FlyFun 130amp ESC.
FMS control board for simpler wing wiring. (must have)
2S Lipo battery with its own UBEC for all electronics, primarily as a failsafe if the main battery and ESC suffer a failure. (a must have) Also makes working on the plane safer not having the motor live..
FMS 1700mm P-51 main landing legs. (must have)
Robart soft tires for mains. (must have)
FMS 1700mm F7F Tigercat nose gear leg and wheel. (must have)
Custom made nose gear doors, with door sequencer.
Flaps converted to slotted flaps instead of plain flaps.
I will be replacing the weak stock flap servos with something bigger and stronger.
I hope you find something from what I have done to my Trojan helpful.

Saw another Trojan in the background. Gotta like a Trojan flyer. Don't recall slotted flaps when I flew them in 1981-2. Do understand using less power for takeoff as we used only 48 inches of Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) 52 was available and I think 58-60 was Military War Power, but for short duration. I actually had a couple Park Zone T-28B's years ago when they came out. My dad and I built and flew RC's. He was more of a purist interested in aerodynamics. He built a ton of non-scale planes-ugly as hell, but flew "correctly". I was more of a scale guy. Fortunately my uncle was a tremendously skilled builder-and all scale. I'll never forget the "wheels watch" guys scrambling and covering their ears when the instructor would say wave off wave off, baby seals on the runway or something equally ludicrous. The noise of a T-28B at full song, was deafening. I have the loss of hearing to prove it. Although I did go on to get my Navy Wings and fly KC-130's in the Marines. Happy flights.
