Used a ton of the Mora Basic 511 (Carbon) 546 (Stainless), Pro, and the Robust when I was doing construction and Ventilation. And they are such great value for the money, and every single hardware store sells them super cheap so they are such convenient and great knives to have around the job sites.
This is why you a LTK are my favorite knife reviewers. You’ll have one video reviewing a $1000 knife and another video reviewing a $30 Ganzo. I respect that.
I don't get rigid wallets personally, especially metalic ones. If I carry back pocket, it'll get bent when I sit down, if I carry front pocket it's sharing space with my knife and has metal parts on it which risks scratching of one or both. Thanks but no thanks, that said glad to see you getting some sponsors you don't mind working with, I can always skip if it's not relevant for me and you deserve the funding I hope comes with it.
Scandi for me is bites which makes it better for working with wood, a flat grind isn’t as good at wood work but is more of an all around outdoors knife. It’s more slicy, you know tomatoes, onions for your burger an still works ok with wood tasks. Just my thoughts .
I have a bunch of Mora knives (companion and 511 models) in both carbon and 12C27. The carbon ones tend to hold a better edge (similar to 1095) and the 12C27 ones are more stainless but both are very tough steels. Nice to see Ganzo offering a different grind at this price point as scandi (Mora knives are mostly scandi ground) is great for bushcraft but aren't the best slicers. The Ganzo ones would also make a great cheap food prep knife for camping. Ganzo knives are a great option for those on a budget or just a knife that gives no worries if they are beaten up or lost. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
I love my Morakniv Companion for yard work, it's great. I do wish the sheath was more like the Ganzo sheath. Do the Ganzo fixed blades come in other colors?
i think the blue Mora is the Pro-S (stainless) and the red one is carbon (Pro-C). edit: my Firebird fav is the FH91. same fit, finish, and action. but better blade shape for my taste.
With Ganzo I feel like the company has knife lovers working for it. Mora is heritage. And I think the maker has been dead forever. Now it’s bookkeepers running the show. Though I have beat on Moras for twenty years. Good variety J.
Well, that tip on your knife didn't break because of the steel itself. It broke because of the grind. That skandi grind has a much thicker tip. That Ganzo is not meant to dig into that wood and pull it to the side. It's a puur cutting tool, not a crowbar. I have both knives and I think they perform very well!
I always want a good mora knife in my go bag to have as fillet and skinning knife if you your fishing or hunting. My favorite edc size fixed blade used to be the sog seal pup with nylon sheath and pouch for sharpener/firestarter but they were made in Taiwan and were super good but then when they moved production to China the knife went to shit and the sheath to as it would come super dull and very hard to put a semi decent edge on it. I wish I bought more than 1 in 2014 because it was the best fixed blade under $50. They now make the elite version but they wBt to charge to much for the steel your getting. Have you ever had a sog seal pup or sog seL pup elite? In the near future I'm gonna buy the elite model hoping it's like the quality of my first one I bought.
Does the hardware still suck on the Ganzo folders? I used to buy a ton of Ganzo's back around 2018-2019 but always had issues with the hardware when I was going to maintain them, so I found it was just better to spend a few more $ to get something with better hardware and tooling.
Ganzo broken tip with light use says it all. Ganzo prroduces lots of junk. Even an 8Cr fixed shouldn't break at the tip that easily. $10-15 Mora = Great bang for your buck. You seriously can't beat them in the budget fixed blade category.

Looks like Jerad didn't mind the tip. Tragic.
It’s the Scandi grind of the Mora that makes it better , it just stays sharp longer
It's a closer copy of the Benchmade 200 Puukko.
Love my Ganzo folders, but will stick with Mora knives for fixed blades

Got my stepfather a mora chisel knife and i have a ganzo adimanti! We love both!

Love my Ganzo's 👍
Nice to have options. Also, it might be a good knife to learn sharpening. (The Ganzo fixed blade.)
Moras are very quick and easy to sharpen. The guide is built in. My garberg in 14c is awesome
To me the Ganzo G806 looks more like a clone of the Benchmade Puukko 200 than a Mora.

I have the ganzo fixed blade. It's EXCELLENT. Got one for two family members too

I've seen them in orange and blue, not sure if they are made in any other colours . Black wld have been nice tho....
@@markjones9178 yes, black would be nice. Especially since the sheath is the same color as the knife handle.. I've even be happy with a dark green.
I have 3 moras ,and they’re excellent knives
You look so professional with all the Ads on the video now! Big timer Jerad and Kara.

91 is heck of a knife
Love the new style of video Jared!

Ganzo has a new point profile @ 2:20. Enjoy your videos Jared.,✌️
Grind the back of the knife down at the tip to give it a mini sheepsfoot.
Mora for many reasons

I would much rather have a mora carbon than a ganzo 8cr13mov... sure it patinas, but the carbon is a much tougher steel
Ganzo's are amazing overally
At 2:37 is that a Thursday jacket? Looks sick!
Would probably still go morakniv over ganzo.
I wouldn't call 8cr an upgrade to either the Mora carbon or stainless. Doesn't seem to hold a tip either 😂
Ganzo offers so much value for money, they're hard to beat.
Lmao your youtube name is gold

RIP Harambe 🐵
Only about 5 years late 😂
Mora use for their knives 3 types of steels :
Carbon : C100/1095.
Stainless : Sandvic 12c26N(cheaper models)
Sandvic 14C28N Garberg.
Moras are 12c27
That's what they use for their stainless; Jared has the carbon steel model which is obviously not gonna be the same 12c27.
@@wes.killed.it.5511 oh their carbon i think is XC90 or the same as Opinel I think
Forget the knives, I want that OTF wallet. Gonna load it with throwing stars! Pew!
I’m a mora fan. Inexpensive but not made in Chinese slave workshops.

No thanks Mr.China Shillington 😂
No one likes a broken tip
