    The best KSP builder I have ever watched! May I ask a few quick questions? What mods/setting did you use to make everything go in a certain path? Such as the boosters, or line ups with the cargo/items to connect, I am intrigued to find out. Also, I know I am a pain, but may I know the engines and fuel tanks you used to make all of what I call cargo go into orbit? I am a new player and so as a start I want to learn what are the best engines/fuel tanks to use in order to orbit cargo such as yours. If you can answer even just 1 of these questions that would be so awesome! Keep up the AMAZING content!

    • @EntropianVFX
      @EntropianVFX  Рік тому +2

      Not a pain at all! I'm glad to get questions like this. The booster flyback and landing was done with the mod "Booster Guidance" alongside Mechjeb and SmartParts to initialize the initial boostback autonomously. I also used a combination of manual control and Mechjeb for docking (Mechjeb's docking guidance is notoriously inefficient). I used Near Future Launch Vehicles for the majority of the launch vehicle (engine mount, fuel tanks, engines, etc.) The engines were methalox - which is not the most efficient fuel but it's very dense, so a given fuel tank mass can contain a much larger fuel mass than, say, hydrolox. However, this stuff about fuel types and such really only applies to Realism Overhaul and not stock KSP. When I first started playing (2012), I just kept trying out different things until I found what worked xD, I just recommend taking a look at other stockish players' craft and try to integrate their principles into your own, while learning from them of course. Thank you!

      @@EntropianVFX Sorry for the 5 - 6 hour delayed message, I am pretty good at noticing when people respond. Anyway, so according to your comment, the mod was "Booster Guidance", so your going to hate me, but I don't know how to get mods. I need these 3 mods, "Booster Guidance", "Eve", and and the third one allows you to see how much fuel you need to get to orbit, or how much fuel you need to get to Mars/Duna. I believe in one of your videos to perhaps Saturn, not quite sure, all I know is that in one of your videos I saw you using that mod along with other professional KSP players. Since I am new to this game, measuring the amount of velocity, weight, fuel, etc. I need to reach the moon, or planets is hard. So if you could please try to figure out what the third mod is. If you could get all 3 you would be a life saver. Eve is the second one I mentioned, I think you also use it allows you to have everything look 5x more realistic, not required, the other 2 are definitely going to be a big few for future ideas. I tend to want to make challenges for myself in future such as going to Mars, Mar's 2 moons "Phobos" and "Deimos", and then back to Earth safely all in 1 flight. I also want to make space stations that will contain a certain number of rocket's which are also rocket parts in which can connect to make 1 big rocket to then go to other space stations to just keep making refuels, bigger rockets while not in the hanger, etc. So yeah, I am new to the game, young in age, but I am still fascinated for future ideas/creations. If you could do me 1 thing, it would be SO HELPFUL, can you link the 3 mods that I mentioned, or at least the "Booster Guidance" and the 3rd one I talked about for a while? You would be a life changer if so, most youtubers ignore or give me the opposite information in which I asked for, hopefully you will be the first. Thank you again for even taking time to responding to my comment, highly unexpected. Keep up your amazing content! 1 BEST KSP PLAYER EVER!

    Incredible spacecraft, cinematics and mission! How'd you do the transfer from Earth to Uranus? Was the engine efficient enough for a continuous burn or just really long injection/insertion burns? I have yet to find any guides or software for doing fast transfers with super-low-power engines, but the engines in FFT are practically built for it.

    • @EntropianVFX
      @EntropianVFX  Рік тому +2

      Thank you! The engine was more than efficient enough for the mission, but its thrust was high enough that a continuous burn would not have made sense; you're spot on with long injection/escape burns, they were a few weeks long for each one I think. I used PersistentThrustNavigator (bugfixed and improved SolarSailNavigator) to plan out burns.

    great vid, why oberon?

    • @EntropianVFX
      @EntropianVFX  Рік тому +2

      Thank you! I decided on Oberon because it orbits at a higher altitude, further away from a lot of the radiation trapped closer to Uranus.

    Why? You can’t land. You would be merely studying it with instruments that can be automated.

    How did the capsule re-enter the atmosphere? did the entire ship deorbit or did the capsule use RCS to lower its periapsis into the atmosphere? would be a shame to waste such a gorgeus spacecraft

    • @EntropianVFX
      @EntropianVFX  Рік тому +1

      The capsule used RCS to deorbit - it certainly would be a shame to deorbit the main vehicle xD
