I love the chaos! I'm glad you're able to find a planner that will work for you at a price that also works for you. Too frequently the two don't seem to happen.
My 2021-2023 planners were Kinbor and they were great! I just couldn't get a 2024 in the TN size hardcover so I tried the Hobo Weeks. Now that I know I can survive in a Weeks size, I was happy to go back to Kinbor.
I have a couple of the Kinbor books (weeks, A5 and a6 planners and undated notebooks) and they all seem to be slightly different paper to each other, but I like them all! They have all been fountain pen friendly for me but I have never heard that they use Tomoe River paper, interesting. I have ordered one of the yearly ones this year so I will take a look at the paper in that one when I get it too :) Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed all the paper testing.
Yeah, the paper has gone through a lot of changes. I think this year might be the first time, but there is someone going around the comments section on videos arguing against it. Who knows? My Chinese friend said the character is the same as Tomoe River.
If that's a TR I might switch next year! I already got a Hobo this year, but I was not enchanted by the covers without the Tomitaro Makino and went real basic. So if you manage to get used to the thinner column on the right and it passes your test this year I might go the money saving route next time, too
Yep! My friend who speaks both Chinese and Japanese says the bachuan character is the same as the Tomoe River, so the paper should be the same. I don't see why it couldn't be. I am not an expert.
@@cerealnana yeah it could be ,but tome river paper itself is different types, the kinbor paper is closer to the new TRP S Inks behave differently compared to the old trp
Even my kinbor 2024 weeks is slightly differnet from my new 2025, same with 2023 vs 2024. i don't think they use TMR though, Its bachuan paper, but people say it translates to TMR in english, but i'm not sure about that as someone who uses hobonichi too... there's def difference, quite similar but def not the same.
Do you have a Sanzen Hobo to compare? My friend who speaks both Chinese and Japanese says the character for bachuan translates the same. Anyway, the paper is good enough for my planning needs. I'm not a fancy planner.
@@cerealnana i have the TMR S and even the old version... the kinbor paper def is slightly different, but very similar though. Maybe they use different TMR. But it works well either way 😊

Right? I am still resisting Hobonichi. Also getting an A5 or A6 Kinbor. I do not need them and have held strong so far!
Good choice, Kinbor is so much better : ), thanks for the video!
Thank you!
I'm also thinking of getting a kinbor 👀👀 I had a kinbor planner in 2023 and I loved it.

I love seeing the Kinbor Weekly! I hope you show us how you set it up and use it through the year 😊
I will, but it will likely be pretty boring! I am not a very sticker-heavy planner. My journal on the other hand...
Thank you for the comparison of the two planners. I never knew about this brand.
It is the hot thing right now. I am trendy!

Aw I just ordered the same kinbor weekly! That cover is so cute, I couldn’t resist. Now what to use it for…😆
We are twins!
Those chicken geese are adorable ❤❤
Chicken Geese is the new name!

The paper is called Bauchen, but people are saying it behaves like TRP
I love kinbor tried multiple sizes, they have different papers for the dated and undated ones, the 52 gsm in the dated is called bachuan paper

Does kinbor weeks lay flat?
Should I have gotten the weeks size instead of the A6????? (I wish the left pages had grid)
You are so funny! No!
No pressure. I am so bad - as I have no idea what I want to do.
You will figure it out! I might get an A5 and cut it down to B6. It is tempting.
