i loved seeing your pen experiments! 😊 you are braver than i am with sanding the section of the lamy safari haha but im glad it worked out! its a good feeling to finally figure out a pen that may have presented problems previously and make it work for you
I think the translucent Lamy Safari sections are a lot sharper than the opaque ones. I have the Strawberries & Cream Safaris and they are not sharp edged. Great that sanding worked for you. They’re really great indestructible pens. Hope your meds come in soon. Thanks for sharing.
Your tic tac organization is so cool! I have some pens that I need to figure out too... it's sad when something presents a problem, I sort of just sit on it!
Hi Shauna, Hope you can use the Safari now! 👌 After having inked both, Al star and Safari, I noticed to like the matte Safari grip section more but the weight of the Al Star more. Sadly you can’t combine them and have then either 2 or none barrel bands when you switch around😟
@ yes☺️ because my Safari (not matte!) was so sharp you even saw it. Even though it’s a shiny finish you can’t really see the sanding down edges. I‘ve done it now to all that bother me with a 6000 paper pad. I get that you won’t try on a pen you want to sell 👍
So the weird thing is: the one I got from Wendi Sue, I pulled out the nib and feed and stuck the Parallel nib in. The one I got last week I had to screw out the whole unit to make it work. I'm curious if your old one would work if you left the housing inside and just pulled the nib.
🤣 you are so funny! I'm so glad i found your channel ❤
Thank you! This comment brightened my day!

It was cheap enough that it was worth a try. I am still not winning with it though.

Meds are here! I'm still struggling with the Lamy. It isn't sharp, but I'm doing the death grip and can't seem to stop.

Yeah, I am not winning with the Lamy.

@@MrsAlchemist it was you that suggested sanding, right?

Interesting. I assumed that the sanding would have uglified the finish.
@@ichirofakename I'm so glad it didn't! It was a risk, for sure.
Love this!

Also: if you hold the Parallel nib actually parallel to the page it's easier to write the big letters.
That is worth a try!
I really need to figure it out. I think I'm trying to write too small.
