I worked on a charter boat in Kona, HI every day for three years after graduating high school. One of the craziest catches was in 1989 while trolling a small king king lure thru a school of skipjack tuna we use for live bait with a bridle rig. A 76 lb striped marlin jumped on. Caught him using straight 20 lb Ande mono line. Incredible, very true story.

One thing that stands out to me is the natural beauty of the area. The town of Magdalena built around and in conjunction with the natural environment.
Lord knows I love the USA, but having visited a bit of Mexican border towns and just from seeing this video, the aesthetic of not seeing a shore chock full of residential or commercialized real estate is a beauty unto itself.

Just watched the world record marlin spear fish vid again and I so wish I would have actually chose to take my make a wish the other year to see if I could go spend a day with dear meat, love the vids and just wanted to say u was one of the channels I watched all the time when on chemo and when I had my stomach taken out, all I watched was dear meat and the Columbus treasure hunters like yappy, jake and Jordan. I have loved Maui Jim’s so it’s in the same price range. Please just get 20 minutes of sun before the sunscreen. The sun gives us the vitamin D we need . Sunscreen blocks us from getting the vital part. Not against sunscreen, although the spf numbers are kinda iffy

Glad to see you were having as much fun in Baja last week as I was. Thank you for the inspiration. Because of you and your channel I got out there and booked my first fishing trip. I caught a mess of Mahi, cleaned one, and cooked it with Everglades back in the hotel. It was an amazing trip and I can't wait to do it again. From your NYC fan base, thank you for doing what you do.
