What I would do to go back in time and watch his 2,131st game live. His mentality and drive to play every day to help his team win is astonishing. Cal was a one of a kind player!
@@Cam23 Crazy that his WAR was 11.5 in his 1991 MVP season, on a team that finished 67-95. You also forgot to mention that he had a .336 career batting average in the postseason, granted his teams were there only 3 times (1983,1996, and 1997). In 1996, they upset a 99- win Cleveland team. The Yankees dynasty was kick started by a fan that reached over the stands for a home run, it was against the Orioles in the 1996 ALCS. Which is unfortunate.
It is! Given that I addressed all the times he went and how well he did I felt it was redundant to say more in a relatively short video considering how much information was packed in -- but I do understand what you mean.
Didn’t know you were an O’s fan! Go birds baby! I know you’re loving this year just as much as I am. Hopefully we get a Brooks video eventually bc of how underrated and great he was. He’s always been my dads favorite player too so I’m biased. Bless, keep makin great videos

I was working on sporcle quizzes when Carlos Delgados numbers really popped out at me. I dunno if those numbers are skydome inflated but it would be a great subject imo.
Great video on Iron Man! Now, cover the insane prime of Sammy Sosa! He I believe, has the MLB record for most 50+ homer seasons, most 60+ homer seasons, most 3 homer games in a career, most 3 homer games in a season, is probably up there for most multi homer games in a season and career, and I think he set some kind of record for consecutive seasons with 40+ and 50+ homer seasons. Dude had crazy RBI production for a number of years as well.. it’s been awhile since I have looked up his numbers but I am positive that I am missing a lot.
This guy was an absolute dude especially in the early 90s. Total stud. The final season dragged on with a slightly nauseating amount of love. There was sooo much love, so many fluff pieces, do it for dad, etc. it was everyday on espn. I’m glad that I can forget that silly season and remember him for what he was. He was totally better then Jeter in my opinion and it’s not close. His fielding alone was far superior
I never really knew anything about him as a player. All I ever heard about him was the streak which tbh idc about cool you player every single day. I care more about stats and this video taught me just how impressive his stats were I wish the streak wouldn’t overshadow his stats but it does
Definitely. The streak is a double-edged sword in a way: it is impressive from a durability standpoint, but like you said it can mask what he did from a stat perspective. He was a superb shortstop with or without the streak!
Ripken was great from the start of his career thru his MVP 1991. From 92 to the end of his career, he was basically just a league average hitter, but still a great fielder.
So many consecutive games is a record that seems won’t be broken, especially in current times where if a player has a headache he gets a couple of games off and 3 months if a broken nail
The 1st game I watched was Cal's streak breaking game in 1995 at age 6. Then the Orioles had 2 good years in 1996 and 1997. Then wouldn't make playoffs again until I was 23 in 2012
Please do a Roger Clemens video. I know he’s not seen in the best light due to use of PED’s, but he one of the best power pitchers, even one of the best pitchers, ever.
I think it's safe to say Ripken was better all-around. Brooksie was an absolute dream player though that was possibly the greatest defensive third baseman ever, however that CAN be argued.
It’s pretty impressive when 3000 hits is only your second most impressive accomplishment.
Maybe 3rd most….depending on
I was at his Hall of Fame induction ceremony when he and Gwynn got elected. Two of the greatest to ever play the game. And both class gentlemen.

Eddie Murray would be another Oriole worth covering. His Oriole prime was high and his longevity pretty epic.
Good video, dude👍🏽. You should do one on Jim Thome or the Orioles greatest pitcher, Jim Palmer
Hey! Since we’re celebrating Roberto Clemente this month, could you maybe make a video about him?
That’s a great idea! I’ll see what I can do 😉
@@Cam23 LETS GOOOOO tyty 😭
Didn’t know you were an O’s fan! Go birds baby! I know you’re loving this year just as much as I am. Hopefully we get a Brooks video eventually bc of how underrated and great he was. He’s always been my dads favorite player too so I’m biased. Bless, keep makin great videos
It’s been a great year for Birdland! Been a thrill to see them perform as well as they have.
I made a vid a few months back on Brooks and Frank, totally not opposed to doing another one on Brooks but considering how recent it was I didn’t want to feel like I was “re-doing” that video. Here’s the link if you want to check it out: Meet the Robinsons: The Icons of Baltimore's Glory Days

Great to hear from a fellow O’s fan!
I was working on sporcle quizzes when Carlos Delgados numbers really popped out at me. I dunno if those numbers are skydome inflated but it would be a great subject imo.
Hugely underrated player
its crazy he only won 2 gold gloves smh
Edgar Martinez, please and thank you!
Sweetest right handed swing of all time!
I think this would be a fun one but how about Barry Larkin, Sandberg or Jose Canseco?
Fun fact, Derek Jeter is the all time leader in worst DRS for a career with an astounding -162 DRS (Defensive Runs Saved).
The best thing that took place in A-Rod’s career was asking Ripken to switch positions with him at the All Star Game.
And good on Torre for abiding 👍🏻
Cal Ripken Jr. is the GOAT of baseball
I would love a video on pudge rodriguez. Thanks also you Great content
Do Dave Parker pls
I’d love to see a video on “Godzilla” Hideki Matsui.
Surprised that we have yet to get a Mike Piazza Insane Prime (Hint Hint)
Brother you know you want to do it. The Insane Prime of Will Clark.
He was a superb shortstop with or without the streak!
one of my favorites
Cal is my all time favorite player. And the reason my fav number is 8
Great video. Seeing the overshadowed brother made me think of my favorite overshadowed mlb brother. Dom DiMaggio. Maybe for your shadow series
Interesting suggestion!🤔
As a fellow Orioles fan, I approve of this video
Cam 23 can you please do a video on Mike Mussina
Ripken was great from the start of his career thru his MVP 1991.
From 92 to the end of his career, he was basically just a league average hitter, but still a great fielder.
So many consecutive games is a record that seems won’t be broken, especially in current times where if a player has a headache he gets a couple of games off and 3 months if a broken nail
He was a true ball player showed up to work everyday no excuses ⚾️
You the man, Cal.
Now this is good stuff 💯⚾️
I appreciate that Alex! 🙌🏼
The greatest Oriole of all-time after Brooks! Thanks Cam!
I think it's safe to say Ripken was better all-around. Brooksie was an absolute dream player though that was possibly the greatest defensive third baseman ever, however that CAN be argued.
A lot of people will tell ya Clete Boyer was better, and in a lot of cases, they are correct.
Thanks CharmCity! I’m glad you enjoyed the video
@@Cam23 Anything on Cal will always make me smile!
@@GamesSavedMyLifeI think you mean Ken Boyer.
K-Rod please, super underrated reliever.
