I love Blaine much more than I love Darren Criss actually. I mean, Darren is a great actor and he seems a good guy, but I don’t really know him and I don’t care that much about him. Blaine instead is my soul-character.
That's the case with a lot of characters, I've noticed. For example, Bobby Newport in Parks and Rec. He would be super annoying if he was played by anyone other than Paul Rudd. I think it's kind of their job as actors to make their characters likeable.
He also doesn't understand the meaning of the word "no" after a couple of drinks at a gay bar. If that's your definition of iconic... well, we'll just leave it at that anf move on, I think.

Unpopular opinion: I like Blaine thoughout all seasons. People going to say you have to admit he was better in season 2 or 2 and 3 but I'm no like him equally throughout all seasons he was in. I actually cotinued watching glee after season 3 because of him.

Yeah, what this series of clips says, is that Darren is a fine comedic actor, who can make his character believably stretch wherever the scriptwriters need his character to go. I smiled through all these clips whether he was conceited, stupid, melodramic or just hypocritical because so many of us are all of these too - in the course of our teen and early adult years. As an actor, he made it all work.
Everyone here is trash talking about Blaine, but no one knowledges how much different he is from Kurt from this point. Hear me out. Blaine grew up with an older brother who criticized every move he made, his father didn’t accept him and literally tried to turn him straight by making him work with him at the family car, he was bashed and bullied at school and he was criticized for his own hair (which is why he puts tons of gel on his head). Kurt was bullied and later in the story bashed as well, but he never had the problem of not being accepted by his own family. Blaine was really cool and sure of himself in season 2 because he was the leader of the Warbles, and his life changed when Kurt appeared as they were attracted to each other and Blaine had the chance to help Kurt to do what he wasn’t strong enough to do. Kurt IS emotionally stronger than Blaine and he did try to face his bully. Blaine being insecure is pretty reasonable for his traumas and since he changed his whole life for Kurt, who cheated on him even if just by message (this type of cheating may be even worse than the physical one to insecure people, and that is why Blaine was so angry and devastated) and once he moved to New York made every talk between them about him and New York without listening nor caring about what Blaine has to say. This lead to the cheating, and even if it was wrong to do Kurt isn’t an innocent angel who did nothing wrong, because if he talked less about himself and reassured Blaine their break up wouldn’t have happened. I love both Kurt and Blaine, but y’all have to acknowledge that Blaine is human. Also the break up and that whole storyline was needed for the major plot: Klaine would’ve been a really flavorless ship if they didn’t even break up once, even tho I think the producers could’ve dealt the thing better, since Blaine cheating is out of his character.
