I think the clothes issue, that is, they dont fit, is one of the most anxiety provoking aspects of weight gain. There is so much tied up in how we desire to present ourselves and what is actually available to us. Well done on your purge. Very courageous.
It's definitely hard to let go of clothes we loved and think about finding different ones. I'm lucky I can still sort of shop straight sizing so I have more open to me still, but finding what I love is still tricky!
I love how matter of fact you are about a changing body/size. I haven't had a baby, but my weight also has fluctuated a lot in the last 10 years, and I have a hard time letting go of clothing pieces I love that no longer fit.. Need to remind myself, it's just clothes, I can fall in love with other pieces that fit my current body.
I was wondering if you ever repurpose fabric from clothing you purge? When you tossed the book dress my heart sunk!!! How cute would that material be on throw pillows for a book nook chair or floor pillows for the kids to sit and read on! Love all your videos! I haven’t missed a video in 3 years❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Did I sit through the whole thing in hopes of an “oops too big” dress? Yes… yes I did. And I am NOT SAD AT ALL! You are passing on some great things to new homes and I am sure they will all be loved.
As I get older, I lose patience with clothing with difficult zippers, finicky buttons, and fussy fits. 99% of the time, my motto is, "if its not perfect, get rid of it!" We all have a couple of things we will never get rid of - I actually have framed some clothing that I loved because why not. The truth is, usually when whatever I'm sad to part with has finally left my house, I mostly forget about it. Also, to feel great and look great in a more curated collection is terrific! I wish I had counted how many times I said "that's gorgeous on you" to this video as if you could hear me! What you are keeping is beautiful and you are so good at finding and making new things that will give you joy, thank you for sharing! xo
Hi friends! Y’all are in no way obligated to buy from me at ALL I want that to be clear but people always ask - so just a quick note i have a full list of all the things I’m getting rid of in the description and I’ll try to update whether they’re sold or not so you don’t have to wonder ❤️ and YES I can ship worldwide, through Pirate Ship which gives me extremely good rates so don’t worry about big shipping costs!
I really hope you do a whole video about body positivity! I know many need to hear it, & be reminded of it! Where did you get the yellow dress you wore the whole video? I'd love to find one!
I am honestly just so excited for you and I! I am excited for you to have a functional wardrobe and i am excited to possibly find vintage that would fit me!
@@zeusathena26 the yellow dress she wore in the intro is from Amazon. She has it in other colors and I have it saved on my wishlist for when i have the funds. Its so pretty and versatile.

I’ve gained weight through having babies and now in menopause. I just decided not to wait for the “perfect” size but to dress for the glorious body that you have! You’re fantastic! Thanks!
Omg, the "dream skirt"? I literally remember what it was called in the Modcloth catalog. I had that one but donated it when it stopped fitting me. I wish I had worn it more times before I couldn't anymore, bc it truly was a dream item.
I have just found you and we have a very similar body shape/size. Thank you for the positive body love. I feel more positive to sort out my overflowing wardrobe. Loving your channel and was more than happy to subscribe. Thank you for the inspiration Hugs Karen from England xx
Thank you for your talk about body image. You have helped me accept my body as I am right now. You have done such a loving thing for yourself by letting go of the clothes that are not bringing you joy. You have so many beautiful outfits and you are such a beautiful person. Why not wear things that make you feel your best ever day. I'm inspired to purge my clothing .
I know I'm very late commenting, however as a suggestion for dresses that are too short, have you considered a decorative underskirt with a pretty hem. It could bring the length down and be in keeping with a vintage aesthetic
The lining is made narrower than the full skirt intentionally. It is to make it easier to walk and move without the full skirt getting mixed up with your legs. Especially if you have heavy things in your pockets.
For the yellow Lindy Bop dress I was thinking that in autumn or colder months you can layer a sweater over top and let the collar peak through. And since the chest is covered you can leave a couple buttons unbuttoned. I’ve done that with dresses I LOVE but are too tight in the chest. I’m a layering kind of gal anyways lol. Thought I’d throw that idea out there.
You have done so well releasing some of your dresses, well done ! Maybe this idea will help you ,as you feel sad letting go of some treasured items . . . . . .take each dress that you are saying goodbye to , hold it close to your chest and thank each one for its service and the joy it has brought to you and say goodbye .This might sound a little silly ,only try it , it works .You see ,we form an emotional relationship with our possessions and thanking the items and saying goodbye ,helps with the sadness . Allow yourself to cry ,its a healthy response and it will continue your flow of energy .Love from England .
I really enjoyed this video. I am doing exactly the same thing with my clothes at the moment and often weep but it is such a liberation. It was lovely to see your dresses. You look beautiful in everything and I absolutely admire your determination to let things go. Thank you for the inspiration.
Hello, lovely lady. I love the green dress, and the miss candyfloss. I have similar body issues. Now, it's looking like I have IBS, so I'm having to look at diet. I have a short torso, broad back, and bolster hips, at 5ft 1" this is a problem. With the bloating, it actually affects my breathing. So you have given me the courage to face what I can't change, but change what I absolutely need to for my health. In the meantime I have found a brilliant bra which works, and some shapewear from WKD, and what doesn't fit, even with the underwear arsenal, is going. Keep up the great work.
I agree, it's very hard! Especially given that society has been trained to assume things about weight gain that aren't true. I'm right there with you in that struggle, friend.
Loved this video. I too gained 100 pounds after my 4th baby. I wish I had spent less time moping and more time being happy. I too started with a declutter and it truly helped my mental health and as a result I decorated my apartment how I wanted, got organized and even started cooking from scratch... something unheard of in my world. That led me to start walking and I'm almost back to where I used to be size wise. But most importantly I gained my sanity and mental health back. It took me 7 years after my 4th baby was born to feel normal. You're doing great and I love your attitude!
I am 59 years old and just in the last two years have I decided to accept my body and all it’s been through. To finally realize I am enough just the way I am. It warms my heart to see young women today embracing their bodies and loving themselves now. It’s so important and that confidence is sexy and beautiful. I also love how the ladies here lift each other up in unity. Here’s to all of you lovelies and to Christine. I just adore your channel.
Oooh skinny lining is soooooo maddening!!!! Also the green dress is lovely but if you don't feel incredible in it it needs to leave, you deserve to feel incredible in everything. Xxx
Hi, Kristina! I absolutely fell in love with the mustard pumpkin dress! When I have a problem like that, what I do is: I move the buttons a little bit to make some room and, if that's not enough I leave that part open and wear a cute matching top under it so it looks intentional. Hope it's not too late for this tip! Also, love your hat collection!
Wow!! Go girl!! I think you did a fantastic job clearing out what does not work any more to open up space for new treasures. Our bodies change with every passing day so I try not to "mourn the loss" of what was and love "what is". Surrounding yourself with beautiful clothes that fit and make you feel fabulous is the key.......and a good red lipstick always helps. I enjoyed your video, as always.
I’ve gain around 100 lb, too, since getting married! ❤️ And I think you should keep the pumpkin dress and the blue, purple and mint. If it’s comfortable and cute, it’s worth keeping.
I've gained about 80 o er my two pregnancy and yes purging clothes that don't fit comfortably is hard but you feel better afterwards because you don't have cloth you can't wear tonting you getting undergarments that fit right is key, thy make everything fit and feel better.
I think I'm going to let the pumpkin go, and keep the purple stripe. It's time to move on in some respects! I might try to make myself a dress similar to the pumpkin one!
@@WithLoveKristina Ooo that’ll be fun! Lady Rebecca Fashions did a pumpkin pinafore with the best sparkly pumpkin fabric. It’ll be fun to see what you do and what pumpkin fabric you go with. There are so many cute options!❤️ And is it okay to message you on Facebook about the pumpkin dress? I don’t have Instagram🤪
I loved watching you go through your closet. You have so many beautiful dresses! I definitely feel you about the weight gain. I gained about 130 lbs over the past 10 years and have now lost about 70 of that. When I was younger I loved to wear vintage clothing, but sadly had to give it up the larger I got. Now that I've lost some weight, I can finally start fitting into vintage clothing again, and am rediscovering my love of vintage!
Enjoyed this video so much. I did this very same thing at the end of last year getting rid of all the things I had fooled myself thinking I’d lose weight and get back in them. Losing weight wasn’t the problem, it was after the dieting the weight always came back plus extra pounds with it. I have decided to just live my life as best I can stop the crazy yo-yo dieting and except the fact that most likely I will always be over weight but love myself anyway. Thank you for your encouragement to all of us who struggle with extra weigh, that it’s ok. You are beautiful to me and look so pretty in your vintage clothes. Take care, stay safe and keep doing these wonderful videos. Much love to you and your beautiful family!❤️
Good job purging all those clothes. It's good you are giving them away & they'll have a new life with someone else. You may wish to donate them to a local thift store as well. Anything but throwing them in the trash is awesome!
My body changed shapes after I had a baby and two years after giving birth and being in a pandemic I still haven’t bought nice clothes that actually fit me now. I love how you are so open and positive with yourself because I often avoid weight issues and I think maybe we should all talk about it more
The yellow Lindy Bop dress is darling. 15:58. Leave the buttons open in the bodice and put a vest or bodice over it. I do this all the time. Sometimes with a jumper/pinafore. It works great.
Ugh! That skimpy lining! A cost saving exercise on the manufacturers part that we'd prefer they didnt do! Lindy Bop yellow dress?? Let it go!..Let it goooo! Anything that needs mending? Let it go!!! Oh the liberation 😊 I'm SO inspired!
WHY THE SKIMPY LININGGGG lol. I hate it so much. And y'know, I have a friend who had this dress and sold it, and now she'd fit mine sooo... I might get rid of it. It does feel super good to let things go!
Wow! That's a great start! I've been doing some purging, too. It's bittersweet at times, but I tell myself someone else can enjoy it now. I also loved your message about self acceptance. I spent many years struggling with it and that led to an eating disorder. Even though I no longer have the eating disorder, the self acceptance is something I'll probably always have to work on. Keep up the positive messages! We're in this together ❤
I'm there with you in the weight issues. When I was younger my family would say you have a beautiful face, if only you lost weight. That was back then when I was 30 lbs heavier. Imagine 30 lbs. It scarred me growing up. I realized that been overweight never stopped me. I accept myself if someone doesn't like too bad.
Keep the pumpkin dress and make a pattern for from it or find fabric that matches the color of the calor and add a contrasting strip down the front and move the button's to it.
I might actually just find new pumpkin fabric I love to make a dress entirely myself - because I have a friend who would fit this one perfectly and she got rid of HER too small pumpkin dress and is sad about it.
I agree about the fit of the black book dress--it fits in the waist for me but seems mildly big elsewhere? Ii'm just not used to such big sleeves. But I adore it and am glad to have a twin.
As someone who has been plus sized my whole life I appreciate your honest talk about weight gain. I gained a lot of weight with both my kids who are now teens and have never lost the weight. I learned to be more positive about my body because I didn't want my daughters to go through all of the body struggles I did. All bodies are beautiful and if we all looked the same life would be dull ❤️
Love seeing all your beautiful clothes, as sad as it is to let go it always feels so freeing in a sense too. Thanks for sharing with us, your doing a wonderful job with your family too! Can't imagine how awful to have no water in the bathroom in winter time!
This is a great topic. I really admire your courage for talking about such personal issues! I too have dieted my entire adult life, and much of my teen years. I’m now in my 50s and you know what? I just like me. I want to get smaller because I want to be healthier, not because I want to conform to any image. My body‘s not gonna look like it did when I was a teenager. And it’s feeling good to purge my closet as well, because I want to feel confident and lovely when I put on my clothes- and not be tugging at them. And for that reason I might even give up pants! Because I’m realizing they might never suit my figure in the way that a flowy dress does. God bless you and continue the great work. Your content is awesome
I like all the dresses you have tried on… maybe not the solid green one as much but.. yes I dint like that linings are smaller either and I cut the lining out.. you are so pretty and you wear your clothes so well.. good style for you!!
The yellow dress is so gorgeous on you! It is time for me to purge my closets of old clothes too. Its really the perfect time, before seasons change again.
I really need to go through my wardrobe and clear it out - I always find it so overwhelming and I'm awful at parting with vintage! I managed my dresses the other day but now I need to tackle the tops & skirts section. This video was definitely a great help to give me the motivation!
I am so envious of your beautiful wardrobe! 😍 I'm the kind of pack rat that couldn't part with something even if it doesn't fit because I tell myself I'll use reuse fabric or eventually find the right person to give it to.
This a great video that reminds us that change is okay and we need to grow as a person and some styles of clothes are there for us to enjoy for a season in our life. Btw you are beautiful and all those skirts went amazing with the yellow portion of your dress!!
This was SO FUN!!! I adore your closet. Also, thank you for the honest chat about body image and gaining weight after marriage. I've gained 60lbs since my husband and I got together. I used to dress so fun and cute but sort of resigned myself to leggings, t-shirts. And long sweaters. I'm currently learning how to appreciate and dress this new body with the same joy and playfulness I dressed my smaller body. Dressing up is truly an act of self-love and I appreciate you sharing your love for it.
Good day young lady! I just found your channel as I love the vintage look, having been born in the 40's, grew up in the 50's, and I loved that era. I want to know how you find vintage clothing and how to start living back in the day? Love your look and your channel, thanks for doing what you do!!
Ugh sooo many I love. I need to go through and select which ones I really love and see how much funds i have available for my vintage dress obsession 😍
One big thing I've been learning is to remember it's ok to have limits, and to film what I like filming and it's ok if it's not exactly what people expect.
Clothes job to fit our body, not our bodies job to fit the clothes. If anything I am really struggling to let go I may put in a box or keep in wardrobe for next seasons review Sometimes I find it easier to let things go if I think of the item bringing joy to someone else wardrobe. It also frees up my wardrobe for items of joy to come in too and how happy the garment will be to get worn all the time and adored the way it deserves! 🙂
I’m watching this in 2023 because I just started following you! I love your channel! Your style is so cool and vintage-y. Your clothes are beautiful. Where do you sell your clothes?
This was absolutely satisfying!! I love all your clothes, they are so colorful and fun 😍 Can't wait for the rest of the purge! For sure going to send you a DM to get a couple of those pieces!!
I loved the emerald Miss Candy floss dress at 17:35, but I weep in the fact that it's size or two too small for me. I'm glad you're doing a closet Purge to really help yourself. I've done several in the past several years. Especially when I move. So I'm really collated a decent closet for my body right now. Though I do want vintage looking items, I get what I can when I can due to size limitations.
This is wonderful!! I think your beautiful ❤️ I am also one that gains weight during pregnancy . Think of it this way you gained that over a 10 year period . You have four wonderful beautiful children and you look fantastic !!! this was a wonderful video. This was fun to watch. Letting things go because they no longer fit is sad yes but you have so many beautiful dress/skirts and such that I'm sure will go to a great home of someone else that will wear them❤️
next time you planing to shear any vintage clothes im hear,im happy i foud a plus size person that like vintage ,not a lot like me.thanks so much stay safe!!!
This was so great! I know it was hard but thank you for doing it. I am wanting to sew myself a vintage style wardrobe, but feel bad about it because I've gained weight too. And you know what? You. Look. Absolutely. FABULOUS!!!! And I want to look fabulous too! So I'm going to do it.
Hold onto you Lindy punkie if you're still nursing. There's a number of ways you can alter it. Adding darts under the arms is probably the easiest without impacting the overall look of the dress.
Hi Kristina I have just watched this video for the first time. I am wondering do you still have the dress Miss Candy Floss dress at minute marker 37:55? Also what size is it if you do? I would like to purchase it. Thanks 😊
Awesome video! I so enjoyed watching and listening while I’m busy cooking! Lol! I totally relate, I too gained 100 pounds after having my daughter. It’s a true, it’s ok to be ok with your body, I always tell myself, I know I’m not the same size as I was years ago, but I tell myself I love my body and it’s doing amazing job keeping me alive lol, probably sounds weird pep talking my body, but it makes me feel better about me! Thank you for all your lovely videos, keep up the good work, you are beautiful!
I think you are just lovely and wear your clothes beautifully! And if you think about it, assigning virtue or shame to body size is ridiculous - you are the same person and you can feel good about yourself when you are heavy or bad about yourself when you are thin. I hear people say they were "bad" because they had something to eat that they shouldn't have, and I think that is just a sad way to look at life. Live to the full no matter what size you are - it's only a problem if it interferes with what you want to do.
Good job my friend, this is physically and mentally challenging to do! I've a few dresses that don't fit my chest but otherwise fit and I found I can layer over a sweater even if I can't button up the top of the dress (or if it's pancake boobs lol) maybe that would help with your pumpkin dress?
I'm about 75% sure i'm going to purge it solely because I have a friend whom it would fit perfectly, and she got rid of hers and didn't ever find a larger size. And it woul dmake me happy to see her in it! I might search for cute fabric to make a new pumpkin dress!
"It's ok to let things go that no longer work for; you will find new things to love."
I want this affirmation on a t-shirt 💞

I have decided to just live my life as best I can stop the crazy yo-yo dieting and except the fact that most likely I will always be over weight but love myself anyway. Thank you for your encouragement to all of us who struggle with extra weigh, that it’s ok. You are beautiful to me and look so pretty in your vintage clothes. Take care, stay safe and keep doing these wonderful videos. Much love to you and your beautiful family!❤️
I just love your complete and total honesty about yourself you show in your videos. I also just love your taste in vintage and vintage style clothing.
Really great video I could stand to do the same but getting rid of some of my modern clothes that o don’t wear but can’t seem to get rid of
This was so much fun watching you try on all the dresses. Thank you for sharing.
I’m so happy you’ve healed from your ED! But yes, having the mindset of opening up your wardrobe to new things you’ll love is sooo helpful.
You’re such a wonderful, gentle soul. I enjoy watching your videos!
16:16 You can wear that dress with a tank top underneath and unbuttoned.
Loved this video you have cleared space in your closet and clutter in your life.keep going a bit at a time.💚☘💚
I really need to go through my wardrobe and clear it out - I always find it so overwhelming and I'm awful at parting with vintage! I managed my dresses the other day but now I need to tackle the tops & skirts section. This video was definitely a great help to give me the motivation!
Lovely video with an equally lovely sentiment. 👏👏👏
I am so envious of your beautiful wardrobe! 😍 I'm the kind of pack rat that couldn't part with something even if it doesn't fit because I tell myself I'll use reuse fabric or eventually find the right person to give it to.
The purple mint striped dress is definitely a keeper imo. Looks stunning! Very enjoyable video for my calm saturday wintermorning. 🌨
This a great video that reminds us that change is okay and we need to grow as a person and some styles of clothes are there for us to enjoy for a season in our life. Btw you are beautiful and all those skirts went amazing with the yellow portion of your dress!!
You are going to have such a joyful experience getting dressed in the morning knowing everything in your closet fits you. Great work! ❤️
You are SO CUTE always!!! I'm SO here for your journey of finding joy and playfulness in your wardrobe!
I needed this video so badly. Thank you for being so honest and open and most of all kind.
Good day young lady! I just found your channel as I love the vintage look, having been born in the 40's, grew up in the 50's, and I loved that era. I want to know how you find vintage clothing and how to start living back in the day? Love your look and your channel, thanks for doing what you do!!
So excited for the purge
Ugh sooo many I love. I need to go through and select which ones I really love and see how much funds i have available for my vintage dress obsession 😍
You did an amazing job Kristina! (Ps... please keep that true vintage red and orange dress! 😅 You look incredible in it!) Xx
the book dress so cute!
I've really been enjoying your videos, thank you for being so honest and vulnerable! Always enjoy your style!
I hope I can always be honest and vulnerable, I think it's important sometimes! xoxox
So proud of you! I know how hard it can be and I love your perspective of inviting in new things to love ❤️
All those dresses are beautiful!! 😍
Props for acknowledging your limits. Look forward to more closet purge when you're ready.
One big thing I've been learning is to remember it's ok to have limits, and to film what I like filming and it's ok if it's not exactly what people expect.
Clothes job to fit our body, not our bodies job to fit the clothes.
If anything I am really struggling to let go I may put in a box or keep in wardrobe for next seasons review
Sometimes I find it easier to let things go if I think of the item bringing joy to someone else wardrobe. It also frees up my wardrobe for items of joy to come in too and how happy the garment will be to get worn all the time and adored the way it deserves! 🙂
You are wonderfull and doing good really good job with everything!dont give up trere are people inspiring from you;l wish you the best!
I’m watching this in 2023 because I just started following you! I love your channel! Your style is so cool and vintage-y. Your clothes are beautiful. Where do you sell your clothes?
I have a closet purge Instagram called kristinasclosetthrift 💖
@@WithLoveKristina ❤️🍓 thank you. I’ll check it out
This was absolutely satisfying!!
Isn't it so pretty? I wish it fit my body a little better, the color is so good!
This is wonderful!! I think your beautiful ❤️ I am also one that gains weight during pregnancy . Think of it this way you gained that over a 10 year period . You have four wonderful beautiful children and you look fantastic !!! this was a wonderful video. This was fun to watch. Letting things go because they no longer fit is sad yes but you have so many beautiful dress/skirts and such that I'm sure will go to a great home of someone else that will wear them❤️
New subscriber, love your style! I will declutter tonight!
RIP Lindy Bop! 😭 I’ve been needing to do a clean out too as my body has changed a little again. Thank you for this!
I like Sondeflor, too, but omg, too costly!
I mean they’re a small ethical company so I get it but it’s just out of my budget!
Thank you for this fun video.
Do you feel like your skirts get in the way when you're at home? I rarely wear them to dress up when I go out.
I really liked the closet clean out. And I think your beautiful just the way you are and you make everything look pretty that you wear.
Thank you so much!!
Would you be happy with transitioning to pumpkin Lindy Bop dress into a skirt? It seems like you love it enough it would be worth the work.
Man, I was exhausted just watching you! But you're a beast, high five (I would have quit lol) :) I'm envying your green dresses.... so pretty.
Listen, there’s a reason I didn’t move on to the hanging rack 😂 I guess I’ll just have multiple purge videos this year
I’ve been meaning to do a major closet purge too. I feel so overwhelmed with all the stuff I have. Thrifter problems haha.
next time you planing to shear any vintage clothes im hear,im happy i foud a plus size person that like vintage ,not a lot like me.thanks so much stay safe!!!
Great video. I love all your clothes. God bless everyone reading this.
I love that video, for the pretty dresses and the whise and inspiring words
This is really interesting and I'm excited to see what things in my closet I no longer need anymore
save the pumpkin dress! make it a family heirloom!
when you are comfortable doing so please please make a body journey video. you are good at talking about this stuff!
I will! I've had it in my list of things I want to talk about for AGES but it's such a sensitive/nuanced subject, ya know?
Hold onto you Lindy punkie if you're still nursing. There's a number of ways you can alter it. Adding darts under the arms is probably the easiest without impacting the overall look of the dress.
Hi Kristina I have just watched this video for the first time. I am wondering do you still have the dress Miss Candy Floss dress at minute marker 37:55? Also what size is it if you do? I would like to purchase it. Thanks 😊
Your make up is beautiful and so are you !
I need to tackle my closet but also I don’t want to so I keep putting it off. 🙃 This was motivating!
I appreciate your spiel. I didn't really realize how much body anxiety I had until I started using Jessamyn Stanley's Underbelly Yoga.
This was therapeutic.
