Great video, clear and crisp colors and scenery on your videos. I wish I could see more of your videos during the week. Stay safe and healthy. Keep the great videos coming!!! ❤️
Aye I'm early!! By the way Mike, awesome catches! Also, just a couple weeks ago i caught an NS Bethgon Shortline leaving the yard. Shortline and Locals like these trains are very Common in NJ!
2:31 this train has 6 locomotives, all of which can generate 4,400 HP respectively. Times that by 6 and you get 26,400 HP pulling 24 cars, which some look to be empty.
Hi Mike, will you talk about the new Coaster Commuter Train Coaches in another episode? My name is Luis Urbieta and I watch. You from Escondido, California and I love your content.
This will be cool! I also like that your posting more than you used to. Can you maybe make another metra video? I love that video and I also love the Chicagoland trains both my favorite videos and I watch them over like every week. And also good job! ; )
Love the short trains. They especially remind me of a csx intermodal I see. The symbol is csx I007 usually that train isn't over 100 axles. The longest I've seen it was 140
This video is one of my favorites..Awesome lashup’s,great locations ! Your camera skills are spectacular. 🙏🏽👍🏽👍🏽Thanks for sharing.. That NS going across the jetty was pretty cool too see.. Old school loco’s and even a sd70mac(BNSF)
Down here in Alaska h9me of the hell summers and Antarctica winters we always have short freight trains during the night, a gp40 pulling like two flat cars or something like that.
It depends on their rolling stick and what locomotives they use. For example, their MP15s and SW150ps usually carry 20 - 35 cars while their GP18s and GP39s carry 40 - 55 cars.
Yes, it happens more often than you think. I would see short intermodal trains passing by my house. I think CSX has more priority on manifests than intermodal. Don’t you agree?🙂
excellent set of trains
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed them.
0:53 that's a journey that would give me a heart attack
Maybe it’s because NS engines have ditch lights at the rear, and you would usually never Operate your train Long Hood Forward at Track Speed.
@@BSNCJLproductions what? no I meant going over a bridge like that over open water/river
Long Hood Forward at the speed The NS AC44C6M was going is something you would rarely see on BNSF or any railroad.
Omg me too😱
Pretty long bridge across the water!

Excellent video! Thank you so much! Enjoyed it 100%! Looking forward to your next masterpiece!
Some short CSX trains do pass through my area.
Same
Nice!
Lovely video mike, also can’t wait for the Q&A!
Thank you! It's all set to go for this upcoming Friday!
Awesome!
People wating for long long trains to pass by: im late for work. People wating for short trains to go by: phew im gonna be on time for work.
Pretty much!
Then the intermodal Train comes and has 173 cars@CoasterFan2105
Nice video I like seeing the train go over the water at 0:49
Thanks, Peter!
This is gonna have a lot of locals in it
Bunch of them
With GEVOs and ACes?
I would expect that locals would rule this video
@@Pensyfan19 They do exist, along with UP using an SD70AH-T4 as a switcher
@@Pensyfan19 CSX used a pair of Tier 4 Ace’s for some locals down in Florida.

I like your trains video
Short & SWEET...GREAT locals Mike..thank you thank you 😎
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Short freights are borderline endearing in this day and age
When the train is slow: I want to see Short trains
When the train is fast: I want to see fast trains
Happy New Year, Mike Armstrong! :-D

Great footage here. Beautiful scenery and interesting consists.
7:05, nice rare catch of the Metrolink charger locomotives being delivered. 💪👍💪
4:59 what the hell? It’s strange to have a k5hl train horn on a gp 40-2 you normally wouldn’t see something like that!
Yes I have caught 6032 before and I thought it was a gevo
A tier 2 loco with a tier 3 horn. Noice.
Again, another great video. There is something so interesting about short trains, especially when the engines outnumber the cars they are pulling.
Thank you, Carl! Much appreciated.
In Romania, sometimes, a commuter train consists of 2 locomives and 1 passenger car! 😂😂
5:00 That's very common in my country!:)))...
i love short freight trains
They're the perfect length for videos!

I think the new Coaches look nice but the white stripe must have been in the middle and the grayclDding is a little bitbusy.
Wonderful short freight train set.

Interesting train with all UPS containers and TOFC
Very nice video lovley mix of trains
Shortest train: A locomotive and a car. Most shortest train: a locomotive
Great video
Thanks!
Some are quite long, some have more engines than cars: good video
I love train 🚂
Amazing video! Love all the great scenery and views! Wish i had some locations like that here in NY.
You don’t see short freight trains often. Am I right?
Very nice video, Mike! It’s been a while since I’ve been in here, keep up the great work! Would love to se you at 1M subs one day

I've seen a yard job with a caboose, and a GEVO or Dash 9, couldn't tell, running LHF on a mainline freight.
Awesome Video Mike
Did anyone notice on the top right that it says "Mike Armstrong 2020"? It should be 2021 lol anyway nice video
Yup! This is one of the videos that I had scheduled for late last year but due to some other uploads, I ended up rescheduling it for early this year.
Great footage of these oddities. Not used to seeing large engines such as the GEVO used for local runs. It's the small things in life that matter.
Thank you! It is neat to see some of the unusual trains the railroads put together on occasion.
How long can a Train be?
Happy new year :D
Using 2 locos to pull one car is like using a semi truck to pull a nightstand
May not have been worth the effort to separate them.
Nice MRL gas local at 3:42, I caught it switching Paradise. Where'd you film it in that shot?
The NYARR (New York Atlantic Railroad) doesn’t usually carry that many freight cars. Or… do they?
It depends on their rolling stick and what locomotives they use. For example, their MP15s and SW150ps usually carry 20 - 35 cars while their GP18s and GP39s carry 40 - 55 cars.
I feel like my favorite train was the SC44 metrolink move.
Great trains for my short attention span haha
Great video 🚄🚄👍
Thank you, Brian!
Great video. Hey what camera do you use? I've been wanting to get into filming trains and i don't know which camera to buy. Thank you!!
A Gp38 with a K5hl That’s a rare sound

it's kind of funny that some of these trains' length can be considered average or long trains from the point of view of a Spanish railfan (me)
Yes, it happens more often than you think. I would see short intermodal trains passing by my house. I think CSX has more priority on manifests than intermodal. Don’t you agree?🙂
Possible! Depends on the train!
Best I've seen is 3 GP60s and a GEVO pulling one car.

Why are they so short????????
XD
Do power moves count as short freight trains?
That's a good question! I could see it being answered both ways.
I agree. Light power moves can be SD70s or P42s. so even though that they count or don't, it always counts
nice video nice Train execellent video
Do long freight trains next!
It's on the list for this year!
Next do trains with 200+ cars
Actually the american freight service limits every train to carry at least 180 wagons. I don't know if they exceed the limit or not.
I have long freight trains in the works for one of the coming videos!
4:58 well that's interesting a K5HL on a GP40
Nice Mike!
