So Impressive. The finish and the execution. I got cold sweats watching it let alone doing it. Gonna wrap my tank panels on XSR900 after watching this. It’s going to be easier prospect than this but no doubt tense. Thank you for a brilliant video.
That's a bloody good job that bud. And the choice of colour and pinstripe is really cool. Well done. I know what vid I'll be following when I do mine!!
I was going through the same pain with my tank. After wasting 2 complete sheets, I asked a friend to help me out. We heated up the tank and the vinyl and streched it over the tank holding the vinyl from two sides. That worked out very well, although the detailing still took quite some time
Totally agree. The effect is well worth the faff! I’ve seen a few videos of folks enlisting a friend or two and doing the heated sheet-stretch method and I definitely think thats the best way to get a good start.
Great job on your tank wrap Version 2! Suggestion for you pinstripes? Try Matt Black instead, and reduce the thickness down to 3mm. Reckon that'll look sharp, finishing off the brushed steel additions nicely. Looks much better than the carbon 👍
I totally agree chaps. Matt stripes would certainly fit the style a lot better. Thinner would be more subtle. Not sure about the coloiur though. I have no other real colour accents to match up with. It's a monochrome moto!
You definitely have the knack for wrapping. You make it look so easy that I fancy getting some and making a complete cock-up! A very nice job that. I do like the brushed effect.
My pleasure! I hope you have a successful wrapping! Just plan in as much time as possible, because it'll be lots of two steps forward, 6 steps back, 3 forward, 4 back, 1 forward....
Great tutorial! In my experience what we need more than anything is a 3rd hand to hold the heat gun. This hand, however, has to be attach to the same nervous system as the other 2 hands 🧐

Cheers Daz! Give it a go mate, nothing but a few pennies and a little time to lose. Although I had a full head of hair when I started this nonsense!! 😂
Think I will Andy , you make it look very easy and I’m certain it is very tricky, but it’s trial and error I guess, it’s just deciding what colour as I have a white tank and black frame so not so sure, maybe a bit of carbon to go with the pipe or gloss black panels 🤔 the haircut soots you sir, I’ve got a teapotone look and love it, I’d look like a potato without a beard , don’t know why mine fell out, maybe from being indecisive about tank colours and rubbing my head to much 😅
Hahaha! I think that ironically it might have been the stress of vinyl wrapping that caused mine to fall out!! Definitely trial and error though mate. You'll either get a feel for it, or you wont. Just expect the first few attempts to go slightly sideways and then if they don't, you're winning!
Looks good 👍🏻 I was thinking of using the same dark brush metal vinyl for the lid o my silver top box so it looked better with my satin black Tiger Sport. ( I could used the remainder to cover the wing mirrors on my car to cover some scratches)

The Honda CB1000R is about to get it’s first vinyl re-style.
Well done mate👌 you’ve produced a really great eye catching finish!! 👌 You’ll be taking orders I assume? 🤣🤣🤣 Great channel thanks for putting the vid up! 👍👍

Thanks AA. Happy you got something out of it 👍🏻
Halfway through I was thinking it is not worth the faffing around, by the end I was thinking wow it looks fantastic. Great job AMC.
Haha! How the sight of lovely smooth brushed steel can sway you eh?! :D Cheers Harry!
I came here for the (excellent) vinyl-wrap "tutorial" and stayed for the soothing plinky-plonky music ...thanks Andy and great job!

That's a bloody good job that bud. And the choice of colour and pinstripe is really cool. Well done. I know what vid I'll be following when I do mine!!
Cheers Tyrone. Not often that a change like this pleases so many! The carbon stuff was far more galvanising!
great job, I really like the look for the finished work. so much so, I may try something similar.
Cheers mate! Good luck with yours.
That looks awesome!! Very well done!!
Many thanks 🙏🏻
Well, that turned out pretty darn good! Loving the buzz-cut too.
"Air bubbleage"
Cheers Smokey! Sadly the buzz cut was less of a styling upgrade and more of an aging necessity!

Totally agree. The effect is well worth the faff! I’ve seen a few videos of folks enlisting a friend or two and doing the heated sheet-stretch method and I definitely think thats the best way to get a good start.
Good job Andy. Looks fantastic. Also, an excellent job of editing out all the effing and blinding that, I'm sure, accompanied the work on this.
Thanks Geoff. There was certainly a little bit more effing and jeffing than shown here! But then, this is a family show! 😜
Amazing just how much info you can gleam from 1 video, thank you, this gave more answers than I had questions...
Yes, I like that. Nice job, Andy. It sets off the bike very neatly and tastefully. 👍
Cheers Keith. That’s exactly what i was aiming for. A bit of a subtle highlight rather than the obviously fake carbon stuff!
You’re very handy, Andy. Looks quite classy all back together. 👍🏍🇦🇺
Cheers Russell! I agree, it looks a lot more grown up with the steel instead of the over-carbon look!
Incredible idea and information. Youve got my scared and excited.
Looked good with the pin strips

This is awesome work. Given me the confidence to have a go myself. Let’s see how it turns out

good preparation and patience pay off. Top work, Andy. 👍👌🖐
Danke! A job worth doing, is a job worth doing well!
Love how that came out. If it were me, I would probably have made the pinstripe a second color like red or blue and much thinner.
Thanks! It looks OK doesn’t it! I would have probably done the same, if I had any other colours on the bike to match up with.
Looking sharp mate, I like it a lot.
Cheers Deca. I think I’ll keep it like this for a while!

Cheers mate. Yeah it’s surprisingly effective stuff! Sadly not nearly as hardwearing as the real stuff though!! 😂
Since you become kind of expert, can you give a little advice?
How bad is peeling vinyl after a few years?
I have Bmw r1200gs adventure 2008 and planing to cower tank and front peak with army green matt vinyl. It is pretty easy job because i have onli top of tank to cover.

Pretty good. This is the third tank I’ve done and I’m a splashy filler! No problems yet!
