Dude I need to say a HUGE THANK YOU! After watching this video I went out and wrapped my motorcycle tank took 3 hours buy it turned out flawless! Appreciate the time you guys took to make this
@@ryanscott8217 if you have the money to spend then yeah it's ok, however it can litterally feel like you're just burning money. and dont buy cheap wrap you will hate your existence I promise haha but I've gotten much better and the skill I've picked up was worth it
You've never raged until you get an hour into a one piece project only to tear the vinyl and have to start again. One piece tank wraps are the reason I drink.
I just wrapped my own gas tank on my Yamaha and i lost sleep over it, and tore it off the next day lol. till not wrapped because im not sure how to do it. I dont want to wrap it and rip it off.....again.
I've seen so many videos with guys saying it's impossible to wrap the gas tank without inlay and here you are doing what others can't. You are the BOSS of wrappers!
It's really not that bad it you have good quality vinyl. I'm sure I've watched those same videos. There are really not a whole lot of good videos out there. I ran into a few issues my first time around but just had to slow down and think about it. So far, I've wasted no wrap.
First of all let me say thanks. Because you taught me how to wrap, and now I do it to all my vehicles and motorcycles. I actually wrapped a 2015 S1000R and I will say that red piece that you held on during the final overview was the hardest part. The recess for the screw that holds it on to the tank was really hard and I'd love to see how you tackle that. Thanks again

can a gas cap itself be wrapped? I have a 21'MT-07, and I want to try color match my rims. I tried looking on here, but it's wrapping gas tanks, not caps/cap assemblies? great job Christian, this will help me tremendously.
Thank you! I needed this. I just got a vinyl plotter and am making my own custom wraps and decals and want my tank to match. My fairings are off but not having to take tank off too is much better.
Currently trying to wrap my Aprilia tuono tank and and this is not easy I’m two hours in and only have the top done but the more you do it you get a niche for it

Thank you very much for sharing this! I want to wrap my 1990 K75 but I've never wrapped anything before. I am VERY good at detail work with my hands and have an eye for detail. I figure I'll start on simpler body panels first. But can anybody out there give me some reference on how long a patient guy that's never done this could expect to spend on a contoured gas tank? I mean, the K75 probably has somewhat equivalent amount of lines, curves, etc. to the S1000RR. Roughly. Anyways, should I expect to spend an hour? 30 minutes? All afternoon? Obviously we're all different too, just looking for an average.

Very helpful video 😉 I have an old Triump motor, but on that gas tank there are original logos under the clear coat. What do you think, can I wrap the gas tank? Will be nice or ugly 😁
Hey if I’m wrapping My gas tank filled with gas should I not use a heat gun? It’s. A heat gun made especially for wrapping that goes up to 1400 degrees (I own a sign company but don’t normally do many full wraps let alone my own customs)
I wish you had a bike video sooner but I did reference your mirror wrapping videos to wrap the gas tank of my Ducati. But doesn't the gas cap cover come off the BMW? It comes off easy on the Ducati and makes it a bit easier to wrap, not sure if that was the case for the BMW though but thought I'd throw it out there. Thanks!
I honestly didn't even try to remove it. It would have been easier if I had. I'm not very familiar with bikes, I didn't even think about attempting to remove that part. Next time I'll definitely have a look, thank you.
