Thank you Donna for your videos, I haven't crocheted in 50 yrs and during this pandemic, I picked it up again for some calming to do. I am currently making samples and instructions for a book to pass down to my granddaughter since the newer generation doesn't know how to do crochet. THANK YOU AGAIN.
That's an awesome thing to do! Have you been on tik tok and looked up crochet? You don't see many people over 40 making some beautiful items! I'm in my 20s and have been crocheting for over 10 years. It's making a come back that's for sure :)
I am teaching the younger generation how to crochet! I'm in my late 30s and have been crocheting since I was a child. I learned how to crochet from my mother who just passed last month. Crochet still lives! I won't let it die! There are so many young people who still Crochet amd want to Crochet. It is making a beautiful come back!
My mom tried to teach me but, she didn't make it fun. So I stuck to sketching. But as an adult I oucked it back up. Can't remember when I started. Maybe 10-12 yrs ago. Wish my mom was here to see all I've done. I even do doilies an 3D rugs. So, so fun! Turns out, I'm a natural as was my mom! 🥰 side note... When I mess up, I can hear her tell me very firmly..."Count your stitches"! 🙄🤭
I clicked on this video knowing it is above my skill level but was interested in the short length. I watched the entire video, it is clear and concise with great visuals and I love the pattern text on the screen. Best crochet instruction channel!!
I have seen this stitch so many times. I wanted to learn how to do it. My dil LOVES cats. I am making a blanket, sweater, hat, and booties for my grandbaby coming in Feb. Then I plan on making her a sweater for her birthday. It is so much easier to do than I thought it would be. Thank you so much for this video.
I love this pattern and more than that I absolutely love how you do videos - you don't ramble on and on and have us watch you counting, or doing an entire row. You simply tell us what to do and know we have the intelligence to carry on with the row. THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!! Some videos are so long and it's all irrelevant .. you cut to the chase and make it SO EASY!!!!
I absolutely love cats and I’ve been wanting to make an afghan for myself but wasn’t sure what kind of pattern I wanted. This is purrfect, so thank you very much for sharing, I have my new project! I’m struggling a lot with anxiety and depression and this made me so happy, I can’t tell you how much it really means to me. So little actually gives me joy these days, but this really did. ❤️
Yeah, I finally found the pattern of the Cat Afghan. I made an Afghan like this for my daughter in 1995 and she moved around and lost the Afghan. She wanted another one but I've moved around too, and lost my patterns. I'm so happy I found another one. I've looked everywhere!!
Thank you!!!!! I have three special needs rescue kitties and three grand kits. Your video is so easy to follow. Thank you for a straight to the point teaching style. Also, bonus points for the nail polish matching the first yarn. I appreciate this video so much. You have a new subscriber.
Have made two afghans with this pattern & making a third for a new girl in our family. I begin with the chain & add a row of single crochet which gives the edge more body & also defines the bottom of the afghan. Love the pattern!
Ohhh my son and daughter in law love cats and will really enjoy a blanket made with this stitch! I can't believe how super easy it is. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Nice video! Good camera work making it easy to see and follow the narrative. Work doesn't disappear off screen or wander about during the demonstration. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. No fluff talking about unrelated topics, just the stitch instruction. Really well done in my opinion. Thank you!±
I'm all people-d out today (my way of saying my social battery is drained), and this is the perfect stitch to just sit and crochet rows upon rows of while I watch Netflix 🥰
I absolutely LOVE this pattern. I’m using scrap yarns and changing colors every 3 rows as instructed but I’ve got 14 colors so far. It’s super cute. Tyvm ❤
Ty so much … your instructions are so impeccably clear and the visual camera view is outstanding… I love this stitch but seemed … til now… difficult to understand.. again ty ty ty Donna .. you are the best… &&&& those nails!!!!! Just Gorgeous!!!!!
Just when I was searching for something of this kind to make a pullover I got a pop up about you uploading this video.. I can't tell you how grateful I am right now.. Thank you tons dear 🙏 ❤❤
Hello from Canada! I made a scarf from this pattern for a friend for Christmas ( yes she loves cats ) but I lost where I got the pattern from. After a lot of searching I found you again and wrote down the pattern again. Now the bad news, I am in the dog house because my other cat crazy friends saw the scarf and now want their own scarves and afghans,,,the good news, I do not have to think of what to get them all for Christmas and it is early enough that I have time to do them all. Maybe in the next couple of years I can do one for myself. Thank you very much for this video, it is easy to follow as well as easy on the ears, very well done!!!!!!!!!
My bestie is a cat lady big time. I cannot wait to make this for her! She especially loves black cat so I know what color the cats will be. Omg this is exciting!
Love your work. I seldom take instructions from other crochet UA-camrs because you’re great at explaining and your videos are so well edited to be brief. Easy to follow and keep up. Your voice is also calming and you give awesome additional suggestions (like for example you said you like to end on row 3 to help define the cat stitch).Thank you for providing your videos you have made learning new stitches a breeze!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have been looking for a good pattern to make a cat stitch sweater for awhile. Your video is the best one I have seen. I am almost finished with my sweater.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who uses knife grip to crochet. I feel like pencil grip is so pervasive among crochet videos and I just can't do it. (I can but it's not comfortable for me lol.)
So happy I found your channel! I'll be making an inordinate amount of baby blankets soon and while I've got stitch and pattern books I was looking for something new and this channel does the trick!!
Good video regardless of what you call the stitches. What you call a Shells stich, I've always know as a Double V Static. Real shells (like the Shell Gas logo) do no have holes in the middle. Shells are usually an odd number of double or triples in the same stich. V's are an even number of stitches with a chain 1 or 2 chain sts in the middle to make the "V" shape.
Thank you Donna I always find your videos easy to follow and your patterns are very pretty this is a beautiful one I have 2 kitties who love blankets 🤗Amanda xx💕
I fell in love with this instantly Donna! Looks so easy and you made look that way! Thank you so very much! I can hardly wait to make something with this fun stitch😸😻
I love, love, love this pattern!! So easy...and I may have to make a halloween cat hat somehow using this stitch!! Thanks so much for designing and then sharing for us to enjoy!!
Hi, Naztazia! 😸 How cute! The colors are pleasing to the eye. Thank you for sharing this pattern, I've been wanting to learn it. Always appreciate your work 🌷👍
This is so great! I'm going to try and make it for my niece in " Junior High" colors. (LOL- now that she's in Junior High, I feel like the colors will be more serious.)
This is an awesome stitch. I just recently made this same afghan. I found this on a different channel however. I think your instructions were very clear. My sister loves cats even more than I do, so I made this for her. She absolutely loves it. TFS
I just got a suggestion on my shorts forca different stitch and found this as well. I love this! And I think it woukd be fun to do it in my cats colors. Thank you!!!!
I have a black and white cat. I wonder how a blanket would look with this pattern in black and white, anybody made one? Thanks for your videos, I have learned so much from you. You are the only one I can understand and I just love how you do the tutorials!
Hi Donna! Thank you for your patient and calm explanation of this pattern. I have a question- what would be a good border for this? I don’t want to take away from the visual effect. I’m not sure what would look good. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks again!!

😆😆
I told my mom that I was gonna crochet a blankie for my cat and now I have the purrfect pattern yay 🥰😻😻😻
I clicked on this video knowing it is above my skill level but was interested in the short length. I watched the entire video, it is clear and concise with great visuals and I love the pattern text on the screen. Best crochet instruction channel!!
Glad it was helpful!
I need to make this for my daughter! She's a self-proclaimed crazily cat lady at 30!

Donna, thank you the clarity of your crochet videos. This pattern in particular is an example of how thoroughly you explain the method.

Ty so much … your instructions are so impeccably clear and the visual camera view is outstanding… I love this stitch but seemed … til now… difficult to understand.. again ty ty ty Donna .. you are the best… &&&& those nails!!!!! Just Gorgeous!!!!!
I love your use of extended DCs instead of puffs for the paws. Same effect with far less fuss!
I started this cat blanket! And I am getting lots of compliments! Thanks for being a great teacher! And showing me how to do this pattern !

How many skeins of yarn would I need of each color to make a blanket? 😊

Thank you Donna!! For this beautiful pattern my doughter loves cats I'll be making her one

Such a cute pattern 👍👏. My granddaughter would love this 😍🥰
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who uses knife grip to crochet. I feel like pencil grip is so pervasive among crochet videos and I just can't do it. (I can but it's not comfortable for me lol.)
For me, the knife grip is more ergonomic for my wrists. I can crochet faster and for many hours at a time with that method.
i love the fingernails matching the yarn
Thank you!
Bella 😍 puntada de gatitos😻
Me encanta también el color y diseño de tus uñas 🤩💅
I love how your nail polish matches your beginning yarn.🙂
