I bought mine from a professional photographer back in 2011. I love this thing, still my go to. I am not a pro by any means, and this does everything I need, and does it well. He actually asked to buy it back last year, hard pass. I am glad this camera is getting the love it deserves
In my foray in Canon cameras I was traveling with the *PowerShot G5* . It was sturdy and I love just opening it up and shooting RAW images and then back to a computer to see what I had shot. I still have it. I take it on the certain trips where it might get banged into a rock cliff!! Right after my PowerShot phase I dabbled in a couple of mirrorless and now I'm back to DSLR. I'm a travel priority amateur in each of these as a place in my heart and in my photography!
I used to take mine scuba diving with a waterproof case made in Japan. Both were excellent. The case still allowed to camera to be fully functional underwater.
I have this camera. I took it with me on a cruise to Alaska as a backup camera and unfortunately it got unexpectedly wet. It has dried out and I've used it again and it seems to be fine.
Yeah, though these cameras are not weather sealed but they are built rather quite tough to a certain extent. :-) But at the end of the day I think that they still deliver decent image quality as well. Thank you very much for watching as well as for sharing your experience/story, very much appreciated it. I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting :-)
Great session, David. It's a nice cross between an DSLR and a compact camera. I'm curious what the scroll wheel to the left of the viewfinder is for. Would you know please?
The scroll wheel next to the viewfinder is actually a diopter. So if you are someone who wears glasses and would like to use the viewfinder, you can adjust the viewfinder to your eyesight using the diopter. I hope that helps. Otherwise, yse, the camera is a good hybrid between compact and DSLR since it does offer a lot more manual features and functions than the regular compact cameras but not really as advanced as the DSLR but while still delivering good image quality. :-) I thank you very much for watching as well as for the kind words, really appreciated it. I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting! :-)
Congratulations, that's really a bargain! I am sure you'll produce great images with it. :-) I thank you very much for watching as well as for sharing, I wish you a great time, stay safe and have fun shooting! :-)
David thank you for the awesome content. Been following you for awhile and just love your energy and passion. Wish you had more subs because you deserve it. Thank you also for reigniting my passion for photography and not just getting the best gear. ❤ From China.

@@DavidCuhls thank you. I would never have guess that.
Do you have or know of any accessories for the lens ring that can come unattached? If so, which brands would you recommend?
Do you like the G10 more than the G1X?
Please say:
It has a monochrome mode?
Yes
Got it for 8€ from a flea market 🎉😅
