People's self worth is often tied to their accomplishments, and those can be different for everyone. I think it's valid to hold on the the accomplishments we think make us. I was thinking that this guy probably had few accomplishments after that, so thats what he holds on to. And that is telling, because according to carla he has decent, caring, and wonderful children. He seems to be completely self focused and driven.

Told him he had to stay in my guest room. He was insulted. Like he thought he’d come jump into bed with me and then just stay here. NOT HAPPENING! His personality ruined anything good about his looks. Finally I told him he had till a certain date to find himself another place to live. Cause 3 months went by. The date came and went. He was still here. I finally told him one day, 5 pm today, your out of here. He tried to ignore that. I told him you have 2 hrs and I’m not kidding. You gotta get out. I can’t even say what I said to him to get him out. He finally left and I asked him for the house key back and he got mad. But he did give it to me. And he finally left. I have no idea where he is or where he could have gone but a good riddance to a crud personality. I would have like to have stayed friends but he was so insulted thst I asked him for the money he owed me for staying here. I only charged him for the stuff it caused me. He stayed 3 months and I asked him for 380.00! That was the extra I’m water & electric. He bought his own groceries. He never cleaned up any mess he made. He never was even very nice. I’m not sure what his problems are. I’m so relieved he’s gone I just said call it up to lesson learned. Lol

Though he had been honest and hard-working all his life, and was supposedly happily married, he began to lie. He began to tell everyone (especially women) he was enormously rich and owned property all over the world, including lavish vacation resorts. When confronted, he seemed to actually believe what he was saying. Then it got really strange, with more and more fabulous stories, but fortunately nobody took his money as his mind deteriorated. This was many years ago when dementia was not well-understood.
