- In our final "Postcards from the Fringe" video for this road trip, we visit the Babinda Boulders...alternately known as the notorious Devil's Pools. Reputedly one of the most haunted locations in the world, according to the internet, the Devil's Pools have witnessed well over a dozen drowning deaths in the last 60 years, with many more rumoured to have occurred in the decades before.
Thought I'd look this up in light of the death yesterday. Great video.
I'm so glad you are back, brother! I'm glad you are doing more videos, I was afraid you had stopped.
It looks a lot like the strid in the uk
Thank you for your very informative video. I happened to notice with the smoothness of the boulders, it appears that there was a time when the water was higher than it is now. Just thinking that could of been a very good reason to request that no people should take and dive or just jump into the water.
I'd guarantee that flood waters have run over these rock from time to time over tens of thousands of years, Luck Lizzy & continue to do so every time there's a big dump of rain up in the mountains. Thanks for watching! :)
The water level constantly rises up and down due to rainfall and time of year. Flash flooding is a big reason people have drowned as it can be raining 1 kilometre away at the top of the mountain but that water all has to flow somewhere and it mainly flows directly into devils pool.
I was watching a news saying this place is haunted and a many people died. So I found your channel when I looked for it. Thanks for this video!
Since this posting a Brisbane man Shanon Hoffman died at Devils Pools 21 October 2020! Last person passed away I think was in 2008 over there!
I'm m sure I could find a nice small pool of water to just sit in with no risk of dying. Next time I'm in the area I'm coming here for sure. Looks like a magnificent place, cheers, Regards DF👍
Hey bro I always see you on random videos I'm watching at night when I'm stoned lol long time sub!
@@Pratttty 😆 👍
at 7.40, it doesn't look dangerous but it is dangerous.
Its like a fly trap with water when you get in, you can't get out.
Been about 20 deaths there now
Well, it's absolutely gorgeous! Perhaps, by design? *;)*
Standing above it all looking down, you seriously need to wonder whether there's some higher design to it all?
by design? Lol intelligent design (rolled eyes)
@@good2freelance1 everyone says we could live in a simulation but say by design and everyone is outraged
My father took the leap across the boulders at the age of 20. If he'd slipped I would not be typing this.
It's called big jack the bit u jump off
As nice as it looks I wouldn't want to risk swimming in there
Neither would I, given both the drownings over the past 65 year, the indigenous stories of the boulders & the incessant rain that'd fallen just before the visit! Thanks for watching, Squizzy :)
Thanks for that 👍🏼 …just scared the business out of the kids lol
Beautiful.
My home..
Whirlpools are far scarier than ghosts so the story seems excessive. Seventeen deaths is alot but not surprising at all for a spot that's prone to be swam in because it looks pretty.
