    There’s nothing better then a Chineseium Hong Kong hot air eBay turbo brother, especially where you can essentially swap out after it’s surprisingly long lifetime. Love your work mate!!

      Agreed, I paid $150 for it, its currently $218 on ebay... 440hp out of a $200 turbo is a pretty good power increase for the money! Thanks for watching, mate!

    Mate, thanks heaps for putting this together. I too have had the endless supply of slack jawed mud witted keyboard warriors sling their idiocy addled advice at me and all it does now is make me laugh as they’re essentially advertising publicly how wrong they are.     I was going to turbo my fg xr6 but the cost is just ridiculous. I decided to do all the possible mods i could without boosting it such as growler cold air intake, wildcat 770 extractors with high flow cat,into a 3 inch xforce exhaust system. 440cc fuel injectors ,walbro fuel pump,fuel pressure regulator, and a dyno tune. N/ A it is putting out 290 rwhp. Thats good enough for me. Turbochargers put a lot of stress on all parts of the engine,driveline,brakes,things wear out heaps quicker than a N/A car.

    great build buddy I'm around the outer metro Melbourne area and hopefully i see this beast around sometime i've had lot's of e series falcons and loved every one of them but unfortunately Barras weren't around then lol now i've got a mostly stock(for now) ba xr6t and they're such a great motor. but trust me i build performance exhaust systems all day at work and i'm on my 3rd variation of exhaust system on my car from the last 3 weekends under it and if you swap the muffler and hotdog around put the muffler at the back and the hotdog will rumble in the centre section but still won't be overly loud you'll just get a wicked deep note out of it and if you're going to do the diff go with a truetrac they are open wheelers so you can got around corners but fully locked under acceleration that was the best mod i've done so far along with the Ims twin bush diff hat very fun to drive although they can be a little noisy it's well worth it

      Thanks for watching mate! Once these restrictions have eased I'll try to get to as many meets and cruises as possible so hopefully you'll see it. I've got some problems with the exhaust hitting the body, maybe I'll bring the car to your workshop to move my exhaust around!

      @@EverythingFuzzY we don't do fitments etc.. usually but i can organize to use the hoist on Saturdays to do outside work but have a look at how the hangers are sitting in the rubbers cause you might just have to bend them up or down slightly to get it sitting right

    Good stuff mate, been getting into Barra stuff a bit more after a couple of dudes at work have turbo ba’s.
    Picked up a bf1 xr6 manual Ute not long ago as a project, plan on turbo converting it and seeing how long the 5spd lasts.
    I’m in Geelong also, and actually went to CRC with ya back in the day 👍

    Great result !! Thanks for the honest cost breakdown !! Have done things like 12s for $1200 before ( including the car ) ,BUT as soon as you do a conversion the cost just skyrockets !! Have built a B series wagon that ran low 11s at 124mph , so with your 120mph trap speed you should easily get into the 11s if the 60foot times drop a bit. What diff ratio is in it atm ??

      XR6 diff has 3:45 ratio gears. I'm still using the standard EB BTR stall converter too. I reckon with a higher stall and launch control setup in the tune might get me into the low 11s!

      @@EverythingFuzzY We run a TCI 2800 converter in the BTR , it took a fair bit of trial and error for the tuners to get the most out of it. Also have the 3.45 gears in it and the BA wagon weighs almost 2 tons. That said it made 560rwhp with the T76 turbo without taxing it. The turbo is good for a lot more power......the BTR not so much :). Only a matter of time before you get there !!

    There is another UA-cam on about $1200 for 12 sec quarter mile with a $400 BA shared by 2 blokes from Qld, they used the el- cheapo turbo like you to achieve their goal, end of the video they said we'll park it in the paddock for now, maybe see if we come up with an 8 secs plan next.
    Remember an EB ex-taxi converted to LPG of course, purchased by the 3 drivers from the owner when the 4 yrs was up and the latest info was that they had 800,000Klm on the clock and on a trip from Syd to Canberra it blew-up...at last.

Love the torque in top gear they hang on and don't kick down like petrol. Wish the Australian owner-drivers of the Barra Falcons had been trained-up on the use of the sports gear change.     330KW from ebay? thats tough as.
    Just think if you bought an LS engine you'd be paying more than 6.5k for one, plus the other shit that goes with it. Not to mention that NA LS engines make like 170rwkw... haha so then you need even more $ to actually make power!

    hey mate im thinking about doing similar to my 89 nc fairlane, why did you use the na loom? and would the barra bolt up to the borg warner trans in the nc ?

      Love the NC fairlane!
      I used a BA na loom because i’m using a BA na ecu. The BA loom is easier to wire up in conversions but the ecu is t as good as BF/FG.
      The barra will bolt up to the BTR but the lower bellhousing bolts do not line up, you will need a bellhousing from an AU BTR so all the bolt holes will line up.
