- This video was originally going to be a vlog on as I hunted for desert photos on an overcast day. But it turned into self reflection and an ode to the desert somewhere along the editing process. I hope you like it, let me know in the comments below.

W❤️W! That’s Awesome! Merry Christmas! 🎅🏻❄️🎄🤗❤️✨
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!
You do such a phenomenal job at narrating!!! Really great!!!
Thank you, I am glad you liked it!
Beautiful, thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it 🙏🙏
Awesome photos. I need to visit the Franklin Mountains.
Thank you! The Franklins are worth visiting, but I am a bit biased. They aren’t the Guads and they aren’t Big Bend, but they are home and they have their own beauty.
I love your narration and your photos should give every Texan cause to be proud that they live in a state with so much natural beauty!✌
Thank you! Texas really does have a lot to show doesn’t it? I hope our videos help others get out there and enjoy it in person.
Very good 😊
Thank you Jason :). This video ended up being more than originally intended. I hope it is well received heh-heh.
I told you a year ago that you had a great voice for videos like this. Excellent! This makes me want to bring one of my bikes out there for a few days. Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎅
Yes you did, and it stuck with me. I remember it every time I doubt my voice work, and for that I thank you.
I see MTBs out there having a lot of fun! Would be cool to camp out there with you and get some shots of you zooming by 😉
Thanks for watching, and Merry Christmas to you too!
Sometimes the most amazing things are on a micro scale. Really cool captures in this video.
Thank you for watching. It’s a different type of video for me, but I enjoyed putting it together.
I totally agree that the small things can really make for awesome pictures. Fortunately a macro lens fell into my possession recently, I’m going to start playing with that on more hikes for sure 👍👍
Amaizing video!
Thank you man :)
I definitely appreciate your feedback on the pre-screening, it made the video much better 🙂
Hi ChucoHiker, I like this video a lot, mainly because I feel much of the same about the desert. We live in the best place in the US here in the southwest, with so much beauty in every direction. I'm heading out tomorrow, somewhere, and I think I need to talk about this somewhat too while I'm filming. We'll see though. But it's on my mind a lot when I'm out hiking, and how so many people, especially back east, have no idea what is really out here, and how awesome of an area it is.
First, thanks for watching and I’m glad it resonated well with you. This feedback really touches the heart 🙂
It would be cool to get your thoughts on the topic in one of your videos! I too had misconceptions about the desert when I was younger, but once I moved into it many years ago I realized there’s a lot of amazing things to be found. Plus those views that go on forever are amazing!
In general, whether or not it is the desert, I wish more people would connect with the outdoors. I think it’s a quintessential part of the human experience, yet so many have lost that connection as a byproduct of modern living.
Maybe I’m wrong, but the outdoors is where I find tranquility. I think many others would too. Here I go waxing poetic again haha.
On a side note, I was just driving through the Sonoran desert this last week. I need to make a trip out there. The Joshua trees and saguaros are just so cool.
@@ChucoHiker I'm still trying to decide what to do tomorrow but I may stay more local instead of going 3 hours away. Yes, people do need to get out more. It's very important. I seem to even notice a difference in my kids when they don't go outside as much - or at all - on a given day.
@@ChucoHiker you can do all the backpacking you want at a variety of places around here, with no fees or permits. The Superstition Mts. are a popular place for backpacking. The saguaros are neat for sure. I think the Joshua trees grow only in far west Arizona, and then in CA. I used to live close to Joshua Tree National Park as a kid and we went there many times.
@@ZacharyTeich-HikingTrainer That’s great you get your kids out there, it really sets a good foundation for them.
