  • Time for some Blockprinting / Stampcarving! Today I am making some extra small stamps: One mini ‚East of Awesome‘ logo stamp and one for a new EOA Tribe called ‚Libraravens‘.
    Stampmaking rocks!
    Tools I used
    =====================================
(or similar stuff I could find links to)
    S T A M P C A R V I N G
    Rubber for Stamp Carving: amzn.to/43OIljD
Speedball Stamp Making Set with basic tools: amzn.to/3CED0PV
    L I N O C U T T O O L S
    PFEIL"Swiss Made" Knife Set: amzn.to/37x3UwN
(I did buy each of my 3 knifes separately in a local store but single blades seem quite pricey on US Amazon so I would rather go for this set)
    S H A R P E N I N G
Fallkniven DC4 Sharpening stone: amzn.to/3utoF5n (My preferred overall sharpening stone)
    Stropping Compound: amzn.to/3uqNJtT
(best used with a self-made stropping block: just find a piece of leather and glue it on a woodboard. Done)
    W O O D W O R K I N G
    Japanese RYOBA Handsaw: amzn.to/3N9jtdM
(Best handsaw. Period. Note: Japanese saws work on pull instead of push. Watch a quick tutorial if you never used one)
    Japanese SHINTO Saw Rasp: amzn.to/3N9jtdM
(What an amazing tool to shape and refine wood)
    C A R D B O A R D / P A P E R C R A F T
Cutting: I always use a refillable Slide Lock Utility Knife like this: amzn.to/3whdEnv …
… along with a Stainless Steel Ruler like this: amzn.to/397NpIk …
… and a nice big cutting mat: amzn.to/37zNVOR

I’ve observed watching your videos that you’re very neat and organized 👍🏻

Haha, can't tell if you are being serious as I in deed try to have a place for everything or sarcastic as I manage to make a total mess of my space for every project I do ... hm ... 🤔

Ah, thank you very much! You know: deep inside I am a very chaotic person and I feel like I always have to fight that. especially working in a small studio/area ...

I think what you have is a “organized” chaotic streak, you must always be thinking of ways to tame your “mess”?😅You even use a labeling machine to label your stuff. And you have great visual sense, while I’m watching you demonstrate your craft, I’m also admiring how u arrange the things around your desk. 😊

You workspace looks so cool 🤩 Would you mind sharing wich specific sizes for the Pfeil tools you used here? I started making my own stamps and have only the L11/1 yet. I want to buy at least 2 more but am a little lost 🙈

Thank you Jessica. That is definitely a video that I already did want to make for a long time. 😅 So I mostly use a 3mm wide U- and a 3mm wide V-gauge and then for very fine details I have a 1/2 mm U that I love (but you can also make these fine cuts with the 3mm V. for clearing larger areas i use a 6mm U with a more „flat“ shape and for convenience the even bigger 10mm „flat-U“. In your case I would probably go for a 3mm V gauge and something around the 6mm flat U next. Hope it still helps. ✌️
