- Lure fishing for Pike on a stocked carp lake using heavy lures. Caught some crazy footage and had to deal with some very lively fish. Lure of the day was without a doubt the Mirror carp pattern Rapala X-Rap Peto 20cm. There's some very big fish in this Lake and some of them have been coming out lately, had to give it my best shot! Will definitely be back looking for that Giant.

Definitely think I deserve some brownie points here ;) Joking, really glad the lure got you a couple of hungry pike! Yet again, another brilliant video George!!! Would love to see how it does on the canal :)
Plenty of brownie points there. Not many people have a girlfriend that could go into a fishing shop and pick out a lure with such precision 🎣 Couldn't have chosen better myself
It’s a great venue that 👍🏻
Definitely, been back today and caught a load more with my mate! Video will be out soon
Top bins video this mate and couple of decent fish!!! 👍🏻 love your line of first place I’ve fished with a reception 😂
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed the video! Aye a weird experience but it’s been well worth it
Love the channel, keep up the good work. :)
Thanks mate i appreciate that!
2:52 Almost brought back a duck with that cast...
Imagine the conversation back home.
Wife: Did you catch anything?
Him: Yeah, caught a duck
Haha that wouldn’t have ended well would it! Fortunately it’s never happened to me but I bet it has to some

Thanks mate I’m glad you enjoyed it! Blanks happen to the best of us, recently been on a streak of about 5 until I started catching on this carp lake
Nice one pal,You Should give that big Eel I sent you a go on here, that's an overkill lure 😂😂😂😂

Was your sandwich alright?
Great fishing!!!
Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm still alive, the valentines present was an early one. Benefits of having an inpatient girlfriend! Thanks for the comment mate 👍
@@adventurefishinguk no worries, keep the videos coming!
Hello @AdventureFishingUk. Just want to say i love the video's and just wondered do you buy day ticket's or are you with a club.?? I'm thinking on fishing my local rivers and finding out how to go about things. TIA and happy fishing...goodvibes
Thanks for the comment mate and i'm glad you like the videos! I depends where i fish, im in a few clubs but sometimes fish day ticket waters like this one. Best way to go about it is find a place you want to fish and find out who runs it. Their website should tell you all you need to know! Local fishing shops are a good shout too
@@adventurefishinguk Thanks for replying dude I will look up local rivers tomorrow after work. Keep up the great work ;)
@@xs4mplex988 no problem, good luck 🎣

@@PanWrangler good luck!
What rod are you using pal
I think this was the diawa prorex xr 80-180 grams mate
Good them mirror carp rapala lures I have it in the otus range had loads on it
Brilliant aren’t they had a load more on them today. What’s the difference between peto and otus?
@@adventurefishinguk just the tails are different the otus gives off better flutters in the water I have the peto in trout don’t like it they sink really quick the otus just flutters down slowly.
@@craigpalmer7002 ah yeah I get you. I used to use those but they started annoying me with the back treble catching on the tail
@@adventurefishinguk yeah ano what you mean by that. Other than that they are good lures
Is this wyerside lakes
Yes mate 👍
I'm brand new to fishing. I went with my mate a few weeks ago and used his rods. We cast out like half a small fish on each rod and just left them there. Didn't catch anything and it got quite boring and freezing.
With this kind of fishing am I right in thinking you keep casting and reeling it in straight away so your is moving like a real fish? If so I like the look of that style it seems a lot more involved
Excuse my lack of knowledge i want to learn it all but I'm right at the begging of trying i hasn't even bought my own rod yet as I don't know what to buy or what type or what anything is called.
I watch all your videos
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment! This is called lure fishing. Casting out and retrieving something trying to make it look as life like as possible! I much prefer it to stationary fishing its more active and more involved. Can be tough in the winter though!
@@adventurefishinguk yeah but at least your doing something rather than just sat there all day like we was.
Can I lure fish on any waters I can fish on.
Sorry to be cheeky but do you think you could make a video of what gear to use and how to set it all up for lure fishing?
I just asked my mate about lure fishing and he said its for people that can't fish. What a comment considering I sat with him for 14 hours freezing and didn't catch a thing. Who would have thought fishing snobbery exists
@@rozzer666 - lure fishing is great, don’t have to worry about smelly bait and keeps you active. Fish in one spot for 5 minutes and move on.
Lure fishing on rivers is the most satisfying, you really have to put some work in with the chance of something big!
Lots of skill in learning how to work your lure properly too, and lots of nice lures to buy/try 😀👍
@@leftmono1016 what kind of set up would I buy to start doing lure fishing. Thanks for the comment
@@rozzer666 I'd keep it simple to start with, a rod that will cast up to say 50g with a 3000 size or similar fixed spool reel. That will cast most lures with ease. I like a longer rod than most, 8-9foot, as it gives you a bit more reach if you're fishing along the margins. On rivers pike lay up in the slacks so fishing the margins is important.
Baitcaster reels seem to be the big thing at the moment for lure fishing but if you're not used to them I wouldn't bother. With a fixed spool you can swap from a couple of grammes to 100g lures if you need to. Learning a baitcaster is a lesson in unpicking birds nests!
You'll need wire traces, making them up yourself is really easy. Lots of info on youtube. 40-50lb braid is good to use as main line, sounds like massive overkill but it's strong enough to bend your hook straight when you catch a snag. Which you will.
To put the whole thing into perspective, I caught my biggest pike, a large double close to 20lb, using a 50g 9 foot 4 piece travel rod with a shimano baitrunner reel. Just bog standard stuff that I had lying around. Not the ideal set up at all but it worked just fine.
Lure wise everyone has their favourites so impossible to advise. I would suggest trying jig flies though as these are excellent. Black Country Piker and Jack Pike use jig flies a lot, check them out.
What is the 1st lure?
Rapala X-RAP peto in Mirror carp pattern
Was this clearwater fisheries mate
No mate wyreside 👍
Cool mate might have to give this place a go. Thanks and keep up the good work love thr videos you do
@@salfordlad69 thanks mate I appreciate it! If you do give it a go you should mention you heard of it on my video. Might get me some brownie points with the staff!
